The Lcd is a very simple device, it's either working or not much like a pc monitor. If you properly reconnected it to the mobo it should display an image regardless of whether the digitizer is working or even on the phone. Take the back cover off and recheck the connection. You can also check the connection with a magnifying glass to see if you bent a pin. If you still don't have a visible screen then most likely you damage the lcd when removing the digitizer strap.

tnx

White Screen but Boot ok

Hi!
I just replaced the screen on a wizard because the old one got smashed.
Anyway, I connected it up, re-assembled everything, and turned it on. The screen stays solid white, and then goes dim once its presumably finished booting.
The weird thing is, I can still use the touch-screen because if I click at the top left, I can hear the menu drop down, and can select items from it!
Any ideas what I've done wrong, if anything?
Ive triple checked all the connections and it all seems okay!
Help!
Thanks
two suggestions, that might aid diagnosis, feel free to shoot them down in flames.
Have you connected the device using pocket pc controller or similar software application?
Have you tried hard reset?
Do keep us updated.

I had a simular problem replaceing my screen. I know you will say it looks right but it isnt. the ribbon cable that the lcd fits into isnt properly seated the tabs that stick out on the sides of the ribbon cable need to be fitted all the way up against the fitting the tabs on your arnt pushed in resultin in a volatge connection but no video.

Xperia Screen does not turn on after housing replacement.

I took my phone apart and replaced it with a new housing. When I press the power button, my Xperia vibrates as normal as when it starts up. However, the screen stays black. I can tell the powering up is fine because it vibrates and the keyboard lights up. Have I missed a step? I use these videos to disassemble and reassemble my x1..
Edit: Sorry, I am not allowed to post links. But it's the Rear + Front assemble videos from user CyK1 from Youtube.
Thanks
The only reason your screen won't light up is the flex connection to the mainboard. That, or the LCD connection to the flex itself. At some point during the housing replacement you either didn't connect it properly, or damaged it. You will have to go all the way in and check those connections.

Backlight problem after replacement

Hello everyone,
I have got one problem... I broke digitizer of my HTC Desire 500. So I order new one and to be sure, also LCD screen. I replaced, and...
After turning on, everything works fine. Digitizer works properly, screen shows normal picture. But after few minutes - restarts (I don't remember well) backlight of my screen goes down and now it have no backlight at all. I rebooted phone many times, I remounted screen and digitizer to be sure that connections are fine - but no results. I restored factory settings of phone with no effect too. :/
Please help, what happend? What could be the source of problem? I don't want to order new sceen if it could beak too ;/ I read other threats about coil problem in other HTC, but I cannot find any coil in my Desire's motherboard (maybe it is hidden under plate that covers CPU and other parts). I performed tests of light sensor and it works fine. Buttons lights fine too. The problem refers only to LCD screen, and backlight doesn't respond during test.
Anyone help?
same situation
Hello kowal_luki,
I'm just in the same bad situation.
After a bad fall of the phone the screen broke so I ordered a new one for replacing it.
Opening the phone I noticed that also the LCD (and not only the external screen) was broke so had to order also the LCD.
As precaution tried to power-on my device without a complete assembly and everything seemed to be fine, so I decided to glue the LCD to the outer screen (the touch screen) with a LOCA TP-2500 glue.
Then I re-assembled it up: at first the image was a little bit disturbed but the back-light was working; after few second the back-light turned off. I checked the cable, after that the image went perfect but the back-light still dead.
Did you find a solution for this -still not explanable- problem?

New display assembly won't work

HI guys,
I want to post on behalf of a friend who has a problem with his Xperia Z1. He originally bought it used with a broken display, he then changed it with success, the phone was working fine until it fell. At this point the display was still working but not the touchscreen, so he ordered a new assembly from the net (not genuine, like the first one which worked tho).
Upon receiving his new assembly, he immediately started the repair. However, when he turned on the phone, he only felt the vibration and nothing appeared on screen. No any light, he got a totally black display with no sign of life, while the phone was fully charged, and was recognized by Windows (he could even access his files on the memory).
He obviously thought that the seller tricked him and that the assembly was defective but when he tried with the old one (which had the display working but not the touchscreen), the same result showed up, no light, like the assembly wasn't plugged to the motherboard at all.
So far that's what I told him, check the connections to the motherboard, and make sure the flex ribbon is not damaged. He even bought a new ribbon and installed it, with no success.
He read that the problem can come from the display ribbon touching the chassis, thus making a short-circuit, but I doubt it. How if the display connector on the motherboard is broken? Is it fixable? Like buying a brand new connector and soldering it.
Thanks in advance for helping us
Try a hard reboot by Golding vol + and power until phone vibrates. Is the backlight working?

Thanks for reading this long problem
Sure, he tried the hard reboot thing, he even successfully flashed a stock ROM but nothing changed. I can only think of this as a hardware problem, but what part is defective?
The motherboard connector?
The ribbons on the chassis? But he changed to new ones already!
The LCD assembly? Same, the one he tried is a new one...
Still no one to solve the mystery?
I'd like to add that the phone turns off itself after approximately 30 minutes in idle state. That is, the explorer doesn't show the phone anymore and it has to be powered on again.
I know the best solution would be to buy a new motherboard or just forget about this broken phone, but it's a challenge to fix something that is apparently hopeless

Replacement screen doesn't work

Hey guys,
I've searched and tried seemingly everything, but can't find a solution to this problem. A few months ago, my cousin dropped her Z3C on the floor; the screen cracked and stopped working. I got and installed a replacement screen, but it doesn't work. When I first turned it on (after charging the phone for several hours), the display was off, but I could touch the screen and I would get haptic feedback.
When I do a soft reset (Vol Up + Power), it vibrates 3 times, but the screen still doesn't display anything. I've pressed the little yellow reset button next to the SD slot, which also causes it to vibrate, but the screen still doesn't work. When I connect it to a PC, it is identified, though no folders are shown in the device. After I used the repair function of the Sony Xperia Companion, I now no longer receive haptic feedback when touching the screen. I also tried using flashtool, but to no avail.
Can anyone point me in a direction with how I should proceed?
Thanks!
It may be a motherboard issue now,try taking the phone apart and reconnecting the screen, but don't close it fully just connect it and see if anything happens,if it still doesn't work it could be a motherboard issue or you got a DOA screen
Make jumper on fuze like I did on 2nd picture and should be fine. Pictures here.

Unfortunately, soldering for me isn't an option.
I've looked into the price of a motherboard for the Z3C and it's pricier than I expected. I might just cut my losses and try to sell it as is.
Thanks for all of the suggestions, guys!
