[Q] Unroot + Uninstall CWM Instructions? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note

Hey there I was searching/googleing the instructions for unrooting the T-Mobile Galaxy Note (t879) but could only find the international versions.
Does anyone know the process or can point me to a video/tutorial to go back to a fully unrooted Note?
Also, how do I go about going back to the tmo recovery, removing the CWM recovery? Where can I find that? Do I do that before I unroot it or after?
Once I flash the unrooted stock rom (if there is any for Tmo) do i need to reset the flash counter and how would I do that if it is unrooted?
Sorry for all the questions, I hope someone can help me...
Thanks in advance!
Background: my mic started to produce garbled noise, it works fine on handsfree mode but not on the regular mode. if I can fix it I don't need to go back to stock or unroot it.
I tried a different ROM but that didn't work (CM10), i cleared the tmo talkvoice app cache and data but still the same result.
So i assume that the mic is broken and that I will have to send it in/RMA it...

[Q] Newcomer to the P1000 Galaxy Tab. Put a 'cube out of his confusion.

Okay. So, I've just acquired a Galaxy Tab off eBay. It's on it's way to me, so I thought I'd burn up a few cycles and go download some goods for flashing as soon as I get it.
The setup: ROM version is Gingerbread. Assume Stock ROM. Model is P1000 (Unlocked GSM).
The question is this. I am completely confused as to what I need to do, and I'd like someone to point me in the right direction. With other devices, I would just root, install custom recovery and voila. Non-stock device. Does this same rule apply with the Galaxy Tab, or is it a new ball game?
Basically, what is the easiest way of getting a custom ROM onto my Galaxy Tab? Do I need to use ODIN and co? Or can I do it all via recovery? Is there any n00b guides that explain installing your first ROM?
I don't want to jump through hurdles that I could have avoided. So, that's why I'm asking you for help. Put me out of my confusion, get a +1 thanks in return. Sounds good, no?
Thanks again. Your help is appreciated.
good day sir.
basically is the same with otherdevices,
root it, install clockworkmod, download and install roms
you will need to flash via odin first because stock rom of gtp1000 have limited options in the recovery mode.
after that, all flashings can be done vie clockworkmod recevery... for your convenience search for these ff. keywords:
overcome kernel
overcome rom
zergrush
cm9 rom
humberos.
no need for thanks buton, i just want to ask you to refrain posting posts in the development forums if you think your post will not contribute to the development, too many assholes there beating each other up and flooding the forum of bullshits.
thanks.
Alright, thanks for the explanation, I appreciate it! Seems to be making sense now...
So, basically, with any ROM I flash, I must use ODIN to flash the kernel? Or will the ROM take care of that? I heard the kernel is mixed in with the recovery system, so I'm a little unsure as to what the go is.
no u just need o flash a kernel with clockworkmod recovery and all succeding flashings be it rom, kernel or anything else canbe done using clockworkmod recovery. of course there are exceptions if the developer specifically requires u to flash via odin
You should follow the Overcome Guide for your first flash, it is comprehensive and easy peasy, lemon squeezy
There are some pics missing in the linked page, I have a cached copy from google that you can refer to also.

Make back up or the original or current rom
I would like to flash my tab with a custom rom, but I also want to be able to revert or go back to the original rom. My question is how you back up your current or original rom so you could restore it back to its original condition? CMIIW but Titanium back up only back up the apps and stuffs but not the rom, or is it?

[solved] lost access to google account after flash attempt

Hi Guys
bit of a newb her, I tried to flash a jellybean rom and after doing plenty of research followed the instructions to the letter. The result was that it didnt work and reverted back to honeycombe 3.2. The problem i have is that it no longer allows me access or set up my google account and some buttons such as the home button no longer seem to work. I have been unable to go back to stock and am lookign for a little guidance.
I did carry out a factory reset.
Kies is also not recognising my tablet.
I apologise for starting a new thread if this has been asked before. I have not seen an identical problem on this forum so far
Did you make a backup in cwm recovery for the stock honeycomb before flashing the jellybean? And what method did you use to revert back to stock?
For the factory reset, did you do it after reverting back to stock or before?

I did do a backup in CMW recovery. The flash to jellybean didn't failed. It took a few minutes and then restarted and booted up as 3.2. The factory reset and wipe cache partition were carried out as per the instructions online prior to installing the zip file.
I'm just hoping it is possible to resolve this problem.
thanks for any help
Just to provide an update. I have now resolved the problem
After trying to factory reset my tab then became stuck was stuck on the galaxy tab screen. Using the stock rom for 3.2 found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1483168 i was able to flash this using Odin and much to my relief it booted up again in 3.2.
Much to my amazement once it was flashed onto my device and booted up i was able to get an OTA update to ICS 4.0.4 which was a bit of a suprise. Not sure how or why this happened but i am very pleased with the result. ICS is a huge improvement from honeycombe and is like having a new tablet. It is so much smoother and more responsive.
I was using CWM 5.2.0.4
Since you have figured out how to resolve the problem please change the title from [Q] to [solved] this way if someone else has a similar problem they will know that they can find a answer here.

[Q] anyone willing to instant message me about some rom issues

hello friends i could really use some help and if anyone was willing to instant message me via skype or hangouts or fb messenger or whatever i would really appreciate it!
here is the problem i face:
So i was running dynamic kat 4.2, i flashed the 4.4.4 google dialer and it gave me issues, so i flashed back the old dialer (i wasnt supposed to do that!). I ended up getting "core.android has stopped" so i went to do a clean flash of 4.2 in safestrap and i made a nandroid backup then proceeded to wipe everything besides micro sd. (which is the way i have always been instructed to do it), I reboot my phone after the wipe and blam safestrap is gone and i just get a "samsuing galaxy note 3 boot screen". did i totally brick my phone? i know i can get into the stock recovery so i was wondering can i flash safestrap via the stock recovery or do i need to do the whole mj5 restore shebang i REALLY do not wanna do that!
any help asap would be massively appreciated!
thanks so much
-ben
If you have a N900A, you can just Odin to 4.4.2 NC2. It's much easier than the MJ5 restore process and you can use Towelroot to root and reinstall Safestrap. Just make sure you use Safestrap 3.75.

[Q] Restore to 4.3 NB4

OK it's been a while and I have screwed up some stuff.
I have the att note 3 and I"m rooted running 4.3 build NB4. I had some stuff frozen and xposed things setup. Been running fine and really haven't messed with anything for 6-7 months. I'm selling the phone and told the person buying it I would leave it on 4.3 stock rooted.
So I just did a factory reset / wipe cache. Now when it boots up I get a samsung keyboard force close error and can't do anything until I change to something else. I figure there will be other issues also, I realize now I should have undone things, but it's to late.
So what do people recommend. My first thought was to somehow flash the NB4 files, but i don't have custom recovery.
So any suggestions, steps or files would be much appreciated.
Can you not just odin to reflash it back to stock 4.3?
Maybe but i cant locate the files to odin and im not that famaliar with how to use odin. Can some provide a liitle guidance.

I don't think you will find it NB4 build for odin. I was looking for firmware for some time and had no success. You need to get back to NI9 than find update NI9 to MJ5 and then MJ5 to NB4. So i will suggest find this updates so you can sideload after you get stock NI9. and i think you have all files you need to do this here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51468226&postcount=10

G870A, Soft Bricked, Need 4.4.4 or 5.1.1 completely stock "Unrooted" firmware file

G870A, Soft Bricked, Need 4.4.4 or 5.1.1 completely stock "Unrooted" firmware file
EDITED 12-27-15:
XDA Assist has sent me to this forum (Thanx). Info and questions follow, here are the basic details:
G870A variant of the samsung S5 (Active)
Stock, unrooted, carrier locked
interrupted power during OTA update from AT&T (most likely 5.1.1)
forced phone into "download mode" and attempted to flash 4.4.2 (NE4) instead of update (actual file used: G870AUCU1ANE4_G870AATT1ANE4_G870AUCU1ANE4_HOME.tar.md5)
Phone stuck in bootloop with freeze/repeat at AT&T logo
unable to locate completely stock firmware file for 4.4.4 (G870AUCU1AOA1 or OA2) to flash back to most recent functional OS.
still currently able to force recovery mode or download mode.
**update:
As far as i know, the OTA for 5.1.1 did completely download but i dont think it "installed" because i removed battery during initial auto-reboot. The existing ROM would have been 4.4.4 mentioned above, updated and active official firmware from AT&T.
Basic Explanation of actions: I do fully realize that my actions and subsequent "incomplete" attempt to patch the software were unwise but i was merely weeks away from paying off the phone, owning it, having it unlocked by AT&T, properly rooting and installing a custom ROM (as i had successfully done to my wife's G900A). In a moment of panic, not wanting to be locked out of my phone forever by Lolipop, I ripped out the battery during the reboot that was loading Lolipop... every time I put the battery back in and hit power, the phone still attempted to load and write 5.1.1. So I thought maybe, the official firmware copy from 4.4.2, which my phone shipped with in 2014, might flash, even though i was not rooted or unlocked. Clearly i was mistaken but it was all i could think of under pressure.
At this point, I am Completely unconcerned about almost all data on phone or even the hardware EXCEPT for some extensive "memo" notes, which i desperately want to recover. I also dont care anymore about avoiding Lolipop because the memo data is more important to me. I am literally willing to rip the internal memory from this phone and send the SD to a data forensics company if that's what it takes, i no longer care about the phone at all... Having said that, recovering it myself and keeping the phone might be nice also.
Question: where might i find a completely stock firmware for 4.4.4 factory, UN-rooted,to flash; or what procedure might i use to directly pull data from the phone, while soft bricked, before doing a full factory reset?
Alternately, any advice on directions i may not have thought of yet?
I have looked pretty deep into the existing XDA forums for this info but i am only finding "custom ROMs" which are rooted or factory stock ROMS for 4.4.2 and most advice deals with rooting, then flashing. I am not rooting but simply flashing fully unrooted stock firmware AND starting in a bootloop/soft brick state. This is why i did a fresh thread.
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help!

Greetings,
Thank you for using XDA Assist. To get you the expert help you need, I'm going to move this thread to the most relevant Q&A forum for your device. Good luck!
Hello,
I am not an expert or anywhere close but I understand the basics of Android flashing / rooting, etc.
I happened to have rooted my G870A from AT&T successfully using a thread from XDA and I noticed they also provided the original firmware for G870A in case of problems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...to-root-g870aucu1aoa1-4-4-4-2-7-2015-t3025119
So I thought this may help you considering you're looking for an original firmware for your G870A.
What I suggest is to try to flash "G870AUCU1ANE4_Full_Odin.tar" (available from the thread I linked above, I didn't want to rip the links out of the thread) using Odin v3.09+.
I did not use this firmware to root my G870A (only used the updates) but everything worked on the first try.
Follow instructions in the thread I provided. If that still doesn't work, you may need an Android expert on the case.
I wish you good luck in your data recovery. And yes, I registered just to post a reply to your thread.
(also: if you want to root your G870A, the thread explains the proper way to do it!)
Appreciate the thought

Really appreciate the thought, however, that particular file is the file that i had originally used before posting. i think since my phone was factory locked and unrooted i did not have the permissions needed to basically "roll back" my phone to 4.4.2 but i am not educated enough to be sure of the exact problem flashing that file.
Thanks again for suggesting it though! I am nearing the time when I will just have to give up and send off the internal memory for physical extraction and data recovery
Hello,
I am also not an expert or anywhere close but I understand the basics of Android flashing / rooting, etc.
With that said: Let the OTA happen. You will not lose the files unless you already started a factory reset. Then your sol. You will not be able to root but you have a better chance of retrieving the files you are looking for. The phone is not like a computer. You can't just pull the HD and sent it out. You either already had the 5.0 kernel or the 5.1 kernel loaded before you stopped the process. This makes it impossible to go back. You can only go forward.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Thanks for that idea. the trouble at this point is that im stuck in a bootloop that catches on the att logo. I agree that the only option now is to continue forward. i just need a fully official software newer than 4.4.4 to load through kies or odin. at least i "hope" the newer file will work.
so far i have only been able to find stock ROMs that are rooted, and i dont think i can load a rooted stock ROM onto a carrier locked un-rooted phone.
The part you mentioned about the kernal is probably true. i had not thought of that before.
