yes, it is true, Android is possible on the Chinese-knockoff of the HD7.
what isn't true, though, is Android being ported onto the real HD7.
at least, not at this time.

if it becomes possible it will take a long time
windows phone 7 requires 3 hardware buttons where we have 4 so it will take a long tiome before it becomes possible if it even is possible
not to mention the way too slow hardware... Windows Phone 7 will probably be _VERY_ slow on our devices. And if someone manages to get it working, I'm quite sure that won't be anytime soon... sorry mate
Windows Phone 7 require AT LEAST 800mhz processor..Touch HD only 528mhz..

that isnt the biggest problem i think as the hd2 sense is for 1024mhz proc and we have 528 mhz and that works to
a bit slow but useable for everyday i my opinion

sorry, forgive me if im being thick, but wouldnt that mean that we would just have a dead hardware button? which could be pathed to something else?
It would appear there's more to it than that.
I've been following Da_G's thread since he started messing with the mondrian Rom.
It would appear that it requires an ARMv7 Processor to run whereas our's is ARMv6.
It supports only Capacitive screens and ours is Resistive. as well as more stuff.
It looks highly unlikely I'm afraid.Complete incompatibility.
m2.5 wm6.5 roms are slower already, just figure wm7, not worth the hassle imho
Not a great loss IMO, if its true that the OS is gimped that is, why do you all want it when AFAIK it wont have something as basic as file management?
Agree with you all
As already stated I doubt this project would be possible due to the differences in hardware.
More interesting though is how many of us will be looking at the Mondrian to replace our HD's or HD2's???
Not me

Not a hope for me, hate the looks of WP7 tbh, the Xbox Live integration would be nice but other than that i'll stick with MaxSense on my HD, Still hunting for an HD2 on Ebay that i can afford lol.

[Q] Windows Phone 7?

Is it possible to port/flash Windows Phone 7 to Optimus Black? I really want to give it a try if it is possible. If HTC HD2 got it, why can't OB?
htc hd2 was actually a windows mobile
But officially no win mobile 6.5 phone got win phone 7 update right?

yep
But that's probably because HD2's internal architecture is very likeable... It support Windows Mobile 6.5, WP7, Android (Froyo-Jelly bean )
Porting another OS on an Android device would be extremely hard!!! The only ones I know is ICS in a Nokia N9 and the HD2..
If you want to port WP for Optimus Black, you should just wait WP8 which will be far better than WP7 (But I don't really see the point in having WP on our device)
(Well, I'll look into porting Firefox OS when it'll be stable enough (We can currently run it on Crespo, SGSII, and GNex) or Open webOS)
Actually Windows Phone 7 OS only support snapdragon processors and our lg optimus black has an cortex A8 processor which is not supported by windows phone 7 hecne we cannot port it to optimus black

Not as yet.
Looks like the update to wp 7.8 will be out in about 6 weeks +.
i'm sure the very talented people on here will figure it out if it is possible.
Can't see why it wouldn't be possible as Microsoft tested wp8 on the hd7.. time will tell.
for now tho, i'd recommend this> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271118
I have it on my hd7 and its great!

is it confirmed that those two devices are getting WP7.8?
i only doubt WP7.8 coming to Schubert because the Schubert hasn't seen an official update since December.
i could be wrong, though, after all...
Microsoft hasn't announced full details on WP7.8, also, it would be a MS update, not an HTC update.
only time will tell.

Android Go

Hi guys,
Recently Google announced that tomorrow 6th of December when they release 8.1 Oreo they're going to release also Android Go Oreo for low end devices, and would like to ask it would be possible to port this in the Nexus 4 ?
Because the device can handle it and it would be perfect for it to have an official lightweight rom
Here is also the link from the announcement

Yes I am also interested in this!!!

Is it really necessary though? I mean, the Nexus 4's specification can handle full-fledged Android just fine.....

well depends, as a phone is ok but with only 16gb of storage installing only a few apps the storage gets occupied quickly or with only the Android OS installed but with GO at least you have latest Android OS and the low storage requirement is a plus...
Or on the other hand i could install other roms but something official is not bad either as a option !

LineageOS and 60fps video

Greetings,
I am looking for a new device. Nokia 7 plus is among the devices shortlisted. Found that there's no LineageOS for it yet (surprising considering an Android one device). Is there any possibility of this phone ever getting it?
Also, surprisingly enough, 7 plus doesn't have 60fps video by default (Snapdragon 660!). Anyone found a workaround?
Kind regards

Lineage OS will be uploaded today i believe by a dev, but you need to pay for unlocking the bootloader keep that in mind.
