Hello guys
Since warnings about N7000XXLPY ICS kernel risks of hardbrick galaxy note i suppose that's a lot of people like me who installed last ICS 4.0.3 want to go back to GB but are affraid to do it to avoid geting theire Note dead.
I asked the question but no answer i just found this video explaining how to do it ,The problem is that it is a downgrade from an UNOFICIAL ICS rom to GB.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr3DDEh8vyc&feature=plcp
STEPS : 1- go to recovery mode ( even it's not recommended to do anything with cwm with lpy kernel )
2- flash abyss kernel 4.2 final (browse zip )
3- reboot recovery
4- Wipe all- reset factory
5- always in cwm, browse GB rom and flash it
6- Reboot system
My question is : can we use the same way to go back to gb from official stock ics 4.0.3 SAFELY ? We have not many times to do it, may be we have one chance to do it right or we get the galaxy note bricked so plz any help will be appreciated .
Thanks
I have restored stock GB from stock German ICS twice with PC Odin. I had flashed the ICS ROM through mobile odin over a rooted stock GB ROM. I just flashed the ROM and NOT the LPY kernel. Had neither the root nor CWM.
I simply used PC Odin to downgrade without no problems.

I just did that, move safely to GB Rom. Just remember ALWAYS STAY AT RECOVERY TILL U FINISH FLASHING GB NANDROID BACKUP.
Hi.. I am running xxlq2 ics rom now.. But i want to install custom rom (cant resist the temptation!!) now but as i read few forums and all suggested to downgrade to GB rom first, root it ( because gb kernel is safe to play with) and then install custom rom as ics kernel has bug which can brick the note.
So first i will flash KL3 for india nonwipe ( directy rootable by zerg) version by pc odin and root by zerg exploit.. So will it increase my flash counter and give me yellow triangle on bootscreen?? Okay after that i will flash custom ics rom and use triangle away to remove triangle??will it remove the triangle?
After installing custom ics rom if i do factory reset from settings And not from recovery so will is brick my device??
Again after all this if i want to flash stock xxlq2 via pc odin will it give me an error during flashing?? It of course will unroot my device i am well aware of that..
Hope someone with good knowledge could clear my doubts.. :-/
Need help..

Don`t ever wipe or do a reset in ICS unless you have a safe kernel. You can also brick your phone with stock kernels.
Flashing firmware with Odin does not increase the flash counter or show a yellow triangle, only custom roms/kernels flashed from your pc will do that.
hi , I had installed the ICS Stock Germany, and this morning I went to install the Rocket Rom ICS v3 but my note is not restarted more, then i flash the ICS Stock whith Odin Pc, since then my note is not restarted more, gets stuck on the screen of samsung , I have done several downgrades and upgrade ins roms Stock and Custom,it comes in so Download mode and Recovery, but when I go to a Full Wipe it crashes and restarts, please help me
Have you tried downgrading to a stock GB ROM with Odin and doing a wipe in recovery while on GB rom ?
Dont do data wipr on stock rooted roms
Hey , did you do full wipe on ICS stock LPY ( German release ) Rom ?????? Hope you have not . Haven't you read that most of the stock ICS roms have emmc cap bug ?? it will super brick your phone ! . Download stock Gingerbread KL3 firmware and flash it using PC Odin . But before that, flash the pit file based on whether your phone is 32 GB or 16 GB , and then flash KL3 . You might be doing good after this . If not and if you have done data wipe on LPY then the only way to fix this ( till now !) is to edit data partitions of your phone using adb tools found with android sdk , or get your motherboard replaced or whatever the Samsung Service Centre asks you to do . Good luck with the first step ! Hope that you ll be successful at first step
If you need any help feel free to ask , will help as much as possible.
I have included 16GB pit file , flash it through PDA slot in PC odin
I tried

Check Rocket Rom or Dr Ketan threads - best to flashback to Abyss 3.9 or 4.2 then reboot into recovery and factory reset before flashing RR3 or later. I've done this twice and it worked both times.
damn now im chickening out guys i need to know something...im on cm9 so i assume its safe to flash ics stock directly since its a safe kernel?now how do i go on about it?enter cwm mode wipe everything, download latest ICS flash with pc odin then root it?
also how do i recover my backed up data with TB?since i dont have an external SD yet
I am not sure what do u mean by samsung screen...is it the boot animation or the samsung galaxy note screen GT N7000 screen??? I flashed the criskelo's rom and I got stuck in boot animation....I was able to go to cwm recovery and download mode..but I was not able to flash anything via cwm...not even abyss kernel....I never used download mode on note yet...so I was trying to fix it without using pc....gladly I had an old version of franco kernel....which I was able to flash and then I rebooted into recovery and flashed abyss kernel...and back to checkrom...and now on aokp....

hi
I lost my last sgn after super brick
now i m want to downgrade my phone from ics 4.0.4 to gb
i have not root my phone (fear from BRICK)
is it safe to flash gb rom (from ics) via pc odin
i want paranoid rom to flash (is it safe to install via CWM?)
if i want to come back on gb then my phone not bricked
one more q : when i install paranoid then i recover som space on hard disc ? ( because gb is 650 mb+ and paranod jelly bean is only <300 mb)
Simply flash pre rooted ROM from my signature with PC odin
After successfull flashing, wipe cache, delvic cache and data.
Then follow instruction on paranandroid ROM thread.
You cant manipulate system ROM space..

Do full wipe on abyss kernel..

dr.ketan, my note is on stock ics no roms/root or anything pure sotck, wanted to go back to GB
i have the tar file for N7000JPLA1_N7000OJPLA1_N7000XXLA4_HOME.tar
will flashing via pc odin cause a brick ? and will the emmc fault still remain ?
Jpla1 is gb rom, you can flash with pc odin, after flashing you may find force close, but nothing to worry Reboot in recovery and wipe cache and data.
Once you are on gb rom no issue of brickbug.

thanks,
sotck ics lags a lot and when i went to ssc they advised me they dont have currently the old rom so they told me to wait for an update to fix ics which i dont think i will go back to (for the time being)
i was worried that flashing the GB stock over the ics might brick the phone using pc odin so thx for your support
will install via pc odin then reboot in recovery (power up + home + power) factory reset after the gb kernel installs
hopefully get this big screen running again

Rocketrom comes with philz kernel and it is brickfree..So you can directly flash gb rom using pc odin
Hydracore doesnt work with leaked jb roms
when using pc odin, it doesn't require you to be on a safe kernel
its possible to returen to ics stock from jb? i looked and the guide says that you have to be on gb and from there flash ics
pc odin can flash stock rom on the phone no matter what rom you are on.
are you sure?the guide says the you have to be on gb first,so just to put the tar file in pda?
?

You can flash ics directly from jb..but i guess you will get a bootloop
You can flash a safe kernel, then do a factory reset and it boots up successfully
iam confused ...so now flash the hydra 7 do wipe data and flash from odin?

Use PC Odin to flash stock ICS directly. No intermediate steps, like flashing a custom kernel or going back to GB, are needed.

I guess he gets a bootloop after he flash ics..and he need to flash a safe kernel to do wipes..isnt it??
May be, but that's a step after flashing ics. I don't know why op wants to flash hydracore before using pc odin
too many ideas.i afraid to try it.
there are not many ideas.
All comes to one. Don't confuse yourself
put phone in download mode
connect to pc
open odin and select the rom file in the pda tab
flash
once done, don't do any wipes till you install a safe kernel
