Hi guys, today I tried to install Jelly Bean from AOKP over my ICS from Team Nyx, but I got stock .... I can only access to download mode, but not to CWM .... I already tried to flash GINGERBREAD XXJVU via Odin but did not work, I also tried to reset the device with JV9_JV9_JV5 but also did not work ... is there any way to flash CWM or reset the phone from Odin ??..
Thanks !!
The only way to reset through ODIN is by flashing a rom. So keep trying.
Go into download mode & flash a gb stock rom with odin.
Then turn off phone go into download mode again and flash your cf root.
search for it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
Done doing that turn on phone and u Will see cwm icon click it and reboot into recovery. Full wipe
& Flash the jb rom of your choice u may have 2 do it twice
Thanks for your answer guys ! I finally made it work with a Froyo 2.2 ROM I9000UGJK3 .... I´m wondering how do I know which Gingerbread version is compatible to my GT I9000M phone ..... I have seen lot of ROMs, but none says work in Mexico .... Do you know how I can know this ?? Thanks !
Try I9000UGKG3

Hi,
I've tried to flash the latest MIUI ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S but now I'm stuck at recovery mode. When I reboot I always get into recovery mode. I just can't boot it. I tried to wipe and put other rom's on it but I just can't get phone working! I can get into download mode.
So can my phone still be saved?
Hope you guys can help me out!
I would try a clean XXJPU install with ODIN, after you'r on stock install a custom kernel with root - then try cm7 (easier install ) then moving to muiu would be easy.
okay thank you, you would be a hero of you could save my phone haha.
wich custom kernel do you prefer?
If you have download mode install a clean 2.2.1 JPU whith Odin (pit 512 and Re-partition).
Once you have it working, flashing as you want.
Froyo 2.2.1 custom Kernel: speedmod k13d.
GB 2.3.3 custom kernel:Voodoo test 6.0 or GTO Ginger JVH RC1 v2.1.
both for recovery (zip files).
DamianGTO Ginger JVH RC1 v2.1 kernel works fine for gingerbread roms
if you are able to get into donwload mode, you are saved
looks like the ROM you are instlling aint working, or your doing it wrong
i would suggest trying a stock firmware first then you can go crazy and try with new stuff
Hi,
I have a problem when trying to flash my galaxy s and install ICS Dark night v5.5.
When I try updating the kernel using ODIN, my phone gets into bootloop.
It is a froyo installed phone. Also, I am unable to get recovery mode. It enters download mode though.
Can anyone help me out in this??? I am very new to this stuff... I am a beginner...
Held up in this for a couple of weeks.....
Thanks,
Sridhar
If you can boot into download mode, use ODIN to flash a stable rom, then get CWM and your back to where you were, hold off the nightly builds or post in the Cyanogenmod official thread or forums.
Thanks a lot... That did work.. But now i have got Mobile network not available error after flashing.....
Probably best to mention which version of software you are using and the source...
Best option is to flash stock gingerbread version via Odin.
www . theandroidsoul . com / xxjvu /
sorry can't put correct address in yet dont have enough thanks...
it would be better to update to any stable stock rom, go to sammobile.com...
i suggest you update to the latest firmware or ics stock rom for i9000 via odin then root that firmware you have chosen(CF-ROOT) and then update the custom rom darknight v5.5 via cwm...
I think you need gingerbread bootloaders for ics.. You were on Froyo, so it won't work.. You'll need to install a stock gingerbread rom with the pit file and repartition.. After that you can try an ics rom..
I found this thread. After attempting to get CM9 onto my S it wouldn't boot so I used odin to install a stock from from sammobile but now the phone just boot loops.
Could someone please help me.
More info:
After the odin flash - I get a screen like the recovery menu saying things such as "E:Format_volume:rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10" and things of a similar nature - will have to see what the others say.
Any ideas?
You probably flashed a rom without bootloaders. Try flashing a 3 file rom from here and repartition with 512 pit.

Thank you. Will try that tonight

hi , I had installed the ICS Stock Germany, and this morning I went to install the Rocket Rom ICS v3 but my note is not restarted more, then i flash the ICS Stock whith Odin Pc, since then my note is not restarted more, gets stuck on the screen of samsung , I have done several downgrades and upgrade ins roms Stock and Custom,it comes in so Download mode and Recovery, but when I go to a Full Wipe it crashes and restarts, please help me
Have you tried downgrading to a stock GB ROM with Odin and doing a wipe in recovery while on GB rom ?
Dont do data wipr on stock rooted roms
Hey , did you do full wipe on ICS stock LPY ( German release ) Rom ?????? Hope you have not . Haven't you read that most of the stock ICS roms have emmc cap bug ?? it will super brick your phone ! . Download stock Gingerbread KL3 firmware and flash it using PC Odin . But before that, flash the pit file based on whether your phone is 32 GB or 16 GB , and then flash KL3 . You might be doing good after this . If not and if you have done data wipe on LPY then the only way to fix this ( till now !) is to edit data partitions of your phone using adb tools found with android sdk , or get your motherboard replaced or whatever the Samsung Service Centre asks you to do . Good luck with the first step ! Hope that you ll be successful at first step
If you need any help feel free to ask , will help as much as possible.
I have included 16GB pit file , flash it through PDA slot in PC odin
I tried

Check Rocket Rom or Dr Ketan threads - best to flashback to Abyss 3.9 or 4.2 then reboot into recovery and factory reset before flashing RR3 or later. I've done this twice and it worked both times.
damn now im chickening out guys i need to know something...im on cm9 so i assume its safe to flash ics stock directly since its a safe kernel?now how do i go on about it?enter cwm mode wipe everything, download latest ICS flash with pc odin then root it?
also how do i recover my backed up data with TB?since i dont have an external SD yet
I am not sure what do u mean by samsung screen...is it the boot animation or the samsung galaxy note screen GT N7000 screen??? I flashed the criskelo's rom and I got stuck in boot animation....I was able to go to cwm recovery and download mode..but I was not able to flash anything via cwm...not even abyss kernel....I never used download mode on note yet...so I was trying to fix it without using pc....gladly I had an old version of franco kernel....which I was able to flash and then I rebooted into recovery and flashed abyss kernel...and back to checkrom...and now on aokp....

Hi, yes, this is Dog.
No, seriously, today I tried to flash semaphore kernel 2.2 (JB) to my Jelly Bean Port Rom , wich came with Devil's kernel. When the instalation finished the phone rebooted and now it gets stuck with the Semaphore's kernel screen.
Recovery doesn't work.
Download mode DOES work.
I don't know too much about bootloaders and deeper stuff.
So, what shall I do? I just downloaded Tsunami's AOKP JB ROM, but its a .zip and Odin only allows .tar.. And I dont have a nand backup with JB (i have it with ICS)
Help me! please!
SOLVED: Flashed Devil's kernel back with Odin. Then reflashed the rom with CWM.
Hi,
I have a I9000BVJP4 (FROYO.BVJS4) phone bought in 2011 from Orange in the UK. I was trying to root the bastard to get Jelly Bean on it. I coulddnàt get 4zroot to root it, neither Once Click root method (earlier would not reboot the phone and Titanium said it wasn't rooted anyway and the second just said "failed" when it got to the end of the process).
So I decided to use the CF root method. I downloaded the various cf kernels here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108 as I thought I needed to match the JS bit. So I tried JS3 which looped on intial screen the first time. JS5 and JS7 just hang on the first screen. Clearly I can get ODIN 3.07 to upload these kernels so I can get the phone to switch to download mode. THe problem is that it hangs and never boot.
I'm a bit of newbie with this stuff but I understand that as long as i can get into download mode I haven't bricked the beast. THe problem is that I donàt know how to out of this situation. I bet it's just a question of finding the right kernel and uploading with ODIN. Any suggestions? I presume the phone is still unrooted (or maybe not now that I have all these kernels uploaded through ODIN?)
Your help would be most appreciated.
Many thanks
Antonio

Mate,
cheers for this although the XXJVU ROM you suggested didn't work. I decided to give the XXJVT version a go which I downloaded from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881 and I tell you this rocks. I've finally got rotation working again and have got rid of all the crap that Orange installed.
Do you know if Jelly Bean works on the I9000 and how it performs? Is it worth installing on such an "old" device? BTW, I used the same pit file you attached. That did work. Thanks again.

No problem ever . yep, Jellybean works , infact it rocks ! . the stock gingerbread firmware is crap if compared with jellybean . I use cm 10.1 Android 4.2.2 makes my phone butter smooth doesn't matter its quite old though but works like a charm. did you root your phone ? using semaphore kernel ? you have to root it first to install jellybean for XXJVT , here's the link for the kernel :-
http://78.46.194.137/kernels/Semaphore_kernel_JVT_1.9.1.tar
flash it the way i told you , you have to select it in the PDA file option in Odin. hope it works for you now .
