Stuck At "Samsung Galaxy Note" Screen - Please Help! - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I just upgraded to a JB rom (RocketROM) from a rooted official ICS rom.
As instructed, when I wiped the phone using stock recovery, the device was rebooted.
I first thought, the software commanded the reboot.
Then, I loaded CWM.zip and tried to installed the rom.
The installation exited without any error.
Again, I thought, everything was OK and rebooted the device.
But, the phone stopped at "Samsung Galaxy Note" screen.
As I tried again, the stock recovery was overwritten with touch-CWM.
Now, I can't use the phone and can't go back to Samsung rom using odin.
Please help. T.T
I will upload a video of the problem shot with another phone.
Video:

cant u put the phone in download mode?
where did u get CWM.zip?

If you are able to get in download mode, then try to flash pre rooted gb rom from dr.ketan thread.
Or if you have a nandroid backup of your ex rom,and if you Can get in recovery mode, then restore it.
I would prefer first method.

Are you already flashed Stock Rom with Odin? If you can't, seems you have an eMMC brick (aka SuperBrick). The only way to fix it is by the way of Repartition or leave your phone to your Warranty. Sorry man, first of all before flash a Rom you NEED TO READ everything about it. You CANT flash a rom with temporal CWM (CWM.zip) because you will have a brick, and when you do a WIPE/FACTORY RESET you need a Safe Kernel (SpeedMod, Hydracore etc) and not the stock kernel because they are infected with eMMC erase script.... Sorry my bad english. Greetings from Argentina!

If you did a wipe from stock ics kernel, then you might have bricked your phone
Try flashing a gb rom,if the process gets failed, then its a brick

Thank you all for your feedbacks and advices.
I found out PIT file tricks and finally get my phone loaded with a stock rom with custom kernel.
So, I got one step further now.
But, the phone stopped at "Samsung" logo.
Appreciate any advice..

the PIT was to be the last resort.. this meant u had access to the download mode.. u mite have lost 3gb of ur internal storage
what rom? wat kernel ?
samsung GT N7000 logo or the glowing samsung logo?

But, the phone is showing blank IMEI and baseband as unknown.
Any help please?

I still can get IMEI and Serial numbers from the box.
Thanks again

Noted, Raj... :crying:
If I rooted and upgraded to a custom kernel, the kernel assigned me a fake IMEI and I could make phone calls.
With stock kernel, I couldn't connect to mobile network at all.
So, I think, the official repair is the only option now.
Luckily, it still have the warranty.
I will remove all modifications and restore original rom and recovery.
Then, will try to repair it at service center.
I've done a number of custom ROM updates on HTC HD2 and SIII.
These devices never gave me any problem.
Good thing is I've learnt a lot... ha ha...

do u have root?
check in /efs folder -> is it empty or are there a lot of files, mainly "nv_data.bin", "nv_data.bin.md5"
if yes ... try following this thread

and i guess the stock GB rom will also connect you to the network but ICS wont

Yes, when it was rooted, I did check the /efs folder. It was empty.
Then, I checked it at CWM touch and I couldn't mount the /efs folder.
I think, /efs sector was also corrupted.

Dear All,
Last week, I went to Samsung service center.
I just told them after software update, the phone lost the network connection.
As my phone was still under warranty, they didn't charge me any.
Yesterday, they sent back the phone and it's full functional now.
I think, they changed the motherboard as the storage is back to 11 GB.
Thank you all for your help along the way!

Mod Edit - removal of potentially dangerous procedure - do not advise anyone to wipe anything until the issue has been resolved.
It seems you are on stock ROM, here you need is wipe cache and data, but that is dangerous from situation you are having.
Wipe can be dangerous on stock ROM
Simply download and flash this kernel with PC odin for PDA tab
http://hecubus.com/xda/kernel/GL_NOTECORE_v12-5_STD.tar
then from recovery wipe cache, delvic cache and data
Remember this will raise your flash counter, and you have to reset using triangle away. If you are not aware of flashing and other thing, I advise to go to samsung service centre.

Where does he saids he's on stock?
Auto update is als o in other roms.
And if you're phone fails without different recovery or costum rom he would have probably send it to samsung right away.
My steps won't work at all on stock recoveries.
If he w2ants to do it without samsung.
Flash new kernel trough odin first rthen follow my steps
@OP
You dont have option to backup before Booting/Rooting
Simplest step i have mentioned in post#5
1.Flash said kernel with PC Odin (with PDA)
2.If your device reboot, then you will have option to backup
3.If failed to boot aftre flashing kernel, simply enter to recovery and wipe cache, wipe delvic cache
If successfully boots, then still you will have data intact
4.If no booting then go to recovey wipe data
Hope fully everything shud be fine, and just use triangle away to reset counter.

boot is okay, I reach the home screen ( lock screen sometimes ) but Doing anything just hangs it itself. I'm now trying to roll back to stock via odin. Reflashed the cm9 multiple times with absolutely no use. Complimentarily, I wiped data / cache / dalvik /batt. stats everytime.
I hope u have flashed gapps also during the installation.and if it is not working and it is a pain now so go back to pre-rooted gb rom from the signature of sahil sir.then re-flash cm9.

[Q] Flashing CM9,1

Well,
I have a Galaxy Note on hands trying to install CM9.1. It was with Official rom ICS 4.0.3. I flashed it without doing the 3 wipes, and after I flashed the rom i tried to wipe data/factory reset. Then the phone would turn off everytime. So, I tought it must be because I didn't flash, then I'm trying to go back to GB, like the tutorial we have in XDA, but I'm stuck at NAND Write Start! Cache.img, and it doesn't proceed, no error messages.
What should I do?
help!
was the 4.0.3 rooted? did you have CWM with kernel or did you use CWM.zip?

7. Wipe cache and Wipe Dalwik
8. Tried to wipe Data/factory Reset
9. Auto-reboot and yet locked on boot screen
10 Download Mode
11. trying to install GB official rom and locked in Cache writing.

The stopping at "factoryfs.img" in combination with using the temporary recovery in cwm.zip is typical for a bricked device.
Please read hg42's thread for checking the bad sectors and for a workaround by repartitioning (this will exclude the bad parts from using it). But first check the eMMC with his method for errors and real confirmation of the brick.
A complete repair is only possible with a replacement of the motherboard by Samsung.

Suddenly remove the battery results in Stuck at Boot Logo in JB Leaks (XXLSA,LCS)

Why when my device freezes or something else and decide to remove the battery and put it again, result at stuck on Samsung Galaxy Note screen? This only happens on JB Leaks. There are 2 only solution that i know.
-1st is to wipe data/factory reset in CWM but that makes to lose all data.
-2nd Once you stuck at the Samsung screen, enter in CWM and make a Backup, later make a Advanced Backup and select only the "Data" partition of your backup to restore. That recover you Galaxy Note but makes you lose a lot of Time.
Is There other solution? Why when you suddenly power off makes the Galaxy to Stuck? Is there a file in special?
Sorry for my bad english and regards.

there are no other solution, if u got a previous backup using >PhilZ-cwm6 then just restore it or flash ur jb again.

I have found a work around, but you have to be patient with me, this will save your data from deletion.
when you get stuck on LSA or LSC, flash Phils safe kernel, make sure you have the JB one, and dont use 3.99; get older one, and do Full backup.
After the backup, do a factory reset, and reboot to system. After the system boots and settle up, reboot to recovery and choose advanced restore and restore /data only.
After completion, reboot and viola its back and even faster than before..

But the most important thing is this: attach a LOGCAT of the problem.
Q: Ok nice, but I’m noob & I don’t know how to LOGCAT, where I can learn?
A: Here, here or stop being lazy & search in XDA forums.

Just wiping data may solve this problem.
Flash with odin the file WIPE_I8190.zip from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2030282, it will force data wipe at reboot.

It's a thread about prerooted firmware which of course are incompatible with your phone, but the wipe file will be fine, it will just flash your cache partition.

No, you tick Re-Partition and you put the pit file in the Re-Partition column.

But seeing as the system shuts off after it shows the 'Samsung Galaxy S3 mini' logo, how is he supposed to catch hold of a log before it shuts off?
