"Google play's devices are not yet available in your country." And it will surely cost ~550€ here. But it's not like i have money or need for a new phone
No micro sd card or removal battery is a deal breaker for me..... I would like the updated NFC app and the photo sphere app though.
It might come with Jelly Bean out of the box but remember this is an LG so no Key Lime Pie then !!!!!

HTC doesn't build memory card slots any more. It seems Samsung is the last one to do that. And it's also Googles fault there is no SD slot, as they want to have everything with streaming. Now that Google Music will become availible in more countries that might at last work out.
its not that man
not everyone here has internet all the time

we dun have lte yet.. and using net on phone isn't ideal.. its not too expensive.. its jus not convenient with the packages and ****

I don't have LTE neither, nor do I think it's good that there's no SD card slot. BTW, the Nexus 4 doesn't even support LTE.

pure guess but top phones all seem to follow the same pattern... $500 MSRP, $199 upgrade (maybe $50 mail in rebate)
optimus 2x cost
I heard that it could be upwards of 650-700$ range outright
Would this version of optimus 2x suoport tmobile 4g???

For the sake of clarity, since I have never owned an Android phone before- do you mean the UI is identical to the Nexus phones but OS updates will not mirror the Nexus' schedule? Thanks!
Yes, it will be like the nexus-no ui changes made by the phone company like Samsung Touchwiz on their galaxy s phones. The optimus 2x has lg's motoblur changes in their ui. The US version is unique since it supposedly won't have that, only pure android with no changes. Developers and fans are excited because it is FAR easier to work on clean android builds without manufacturer changes. Learn about "cm7" for example to see what I mean.
As far as updates, it is dependent on the phone manufacturer and the carrier it is on. LG has reported that this phone will launch with 2.2 froyo, but will get a quick update to 2.3 gingerbread which is the newest version of android (and hardly distributed officially at this point).

what is UP with that? don't most droid phones allow microSD? forgive me i haven't looked at new phones in a long while. if it is inside, is it easy to replace w/16 or 32GB? i don't want just 8GB. need 32GB or more... too bad it doesn't accept SDXC nor are there SDXC for cheaper. would luv a 128GB or 512GB SDXC micro card inside

thats because the microSD is inside the phone. I don't think they would allow them to take off the back to show us the microSD.
ah, ok. that makes more sense. i just hope it isn't like the Windows Phone 7 microSDs where it might brick the fone if you tamper w/the microSD card. it's a huge reason why i didn't go w/WP7.
hoping for a keyboard version in the future though... it will be interesting trying to text w/o a keyboard... since i'm so used to it.

It's up to 32gb btw.
Will it be released in April? Hrms, if so, shouldn't T-Mo or BestBuy or XXXX company put out the word for pre-orders? The date's right around the corner!
I heard this will be t-mo's 1st device that can support 42mbps 4G speeds.
Given the ridiculous delay of the Gingerbread release for the Optimus Black, which most of us bought partly due to the promise of 2.3 - Please vote below ONLY if you are an Optimus Black owner, waiting for Gingerbread.
Would you buy another LG Android device ever?
1.Yes
2.No
3.Maybe
Y, maybe. This weak support is general for all brands HTC, LG..
Yes. My OB runs fine on V11c. Using TW Launcher 4.5 and it runs almost as fast as my Atrix 4G. Just wait. . . "Good things come,to those who wait".
Motorola Atrix 4G
Y, maybe.... I ecperience the same thing with my LG P500, but still I bought Optimus Black... LG usually offers lower price compare to other brand with same hardware spec... About the software, just wait for custom ROM...
no..never big mistake with ob
i want to buy LG TV and curious of LU6200 , so i won't vote.. sorry
my answer is probably yes...
although the android 2.3 of optimus black seems willing to be released late,
the phone is still functioning perfectly with lg original rom or nova 8...
LG made a perfect little phone aside from the delay on the software. The phone works fine with 2.2. GB is a bonus at least for me.

Perfectly means 100% and noone can agree on that. I guess you wont update to 2.3 then when it comes out? And what if there was no nova? you cant defend LG just because we were lucky to get nova.

the optimus black looks good, stylish, has great specs and a competitive pricetag... a very decent phone to own. i should say yes, but no... never. i will never buy another lg phone because of same reasons other people posted above.
it depends, I'm waiting until mid October to see if they keep their promise.
If GB is not out before at this date, it means that LG cannot be trust ("soon in GB" in their ads) so I would never buy LG anymore.
Apart from the bad sound quality(music over headphone jack) i cannot say a single thing that's not acceptable for me.
Also, with Launcher PRO it's a pretty usable device, and you have to count in that at this price point there isn't any competitor on the market. Oh btw you shouldn't care about 2.3(almost a year old) at this point, but you should care if there'll ever be 2.4!
Hell no
Lying to their customers is the worst they can do. They should never compromise the trust we gave to them.
I will save up and buy the nexus line after this. Fool me once LG, but not anymore.
I personally cant wait for this, because i dont have 500$ to get a sgs3 or htc one x, because i am on contract. I have an old samsung vibrant and it is going on sale for the nexus 7. I have a hp touchpad, but i damaged the processor somehow from overclocking, and now it lags like crazy when trying to use it. I think from people that dont use android, this could be their first android device. I think the phone ui is much better on tablet like this than the tablet ui, i hope i can use the homescreen in landscape though.
I now have a galaxy s3 and a htc x one and now a nexus 7 tablet soon 16gb.

might as well. only $50 more dollars for double the storage space. most other tabs charging $100+ for double the storage space. I'd rather have to much memory and not use some vs. not have enough and finding yourself constantly deleting stuff to make room(it gets tedious fast).

imho, if you can afford the extra cash to get the 16gb you should get the 16gb. Having no expandable storage you will be stuck with what you buy now. (I do have the (16gb on pre-order).
Pre ordered the 16gb model. Nice to go with my nexus s and galaxy nexus
I don't see why people are complaining so much about it. Its a great tab for the money. No hack a rounds to get software you want on it, good screen, good battery size, good tablet processor. Would have liked the SD card slot but I didn't expect it. 7 inches is fine for movies and reading. I spend almost all my time online on my phone, even at home. This will at least let me read PDF files and web pages and whatnot a bit more comfortably.

Screw lte. Where's the 32gb version? And launching that low I am seriously concerned about build quality.
...
Each time Google lunches a new product it's almost incredible how many ideas they stole from other places, like Swype, toggle notifications, etc. however hardware wise I'm loving how fast they are improving and the fact that they kept the nexus smartphone without hardware buttons on the front, the SG3 would be so much more attractive without those stupid buttons... Well thanks for the video

When is Android 4.2 launching ?
I have just returned from a short 7 days trip to south korea having held high hopes of finding tons of nice / cute looking case for Optimus 4x.
But to my dismay, not a single one was seen. I showed my phone to serveral of the tele company guys none of them even know what this phone model is, just one of them told me this phone is sold only in overseas market.:good:
Even cases for Optimus 3D doesn't fit properly. Korea's Optimus 3D is different from global's 'China model' Optimus 3D - The sales showed me their's.
I remember there was a discussion somewhere here but I just want to confirm what's confirmed - aka captain obvious
btw why isn't 4x's forum getting that cool spec sheet at the top like S3 or OG? like wth?
I suppose it's because the spec charts are made for U.S. Devices. AFAIK the 4X isn't even available in the US.

yup i've seen tons of advertisement and cases for these two. But the most are still iPhone 4/5, S3, Note. Sadly the world seems to be following an order.
heres a link from when it was released there
http://www.usingcellphones.com/lg-officially-launches-optimus-g-with-relying-lte-technology/
Both LG and Samsung sell their best product in local market
e.g. (lte2 from LG, with S4 dual core AND 2b ram, as well as latest update, it got 4.1.2 update in late Nov.) (Galaxy s3 with 2gb ram on 3G version and latest update, and also galaxy note 1 with better cpu in korea version) correct me if i have written something wrong.
I dont know why LG does not sell O4X in korea, but i think this device is amazing.
Now we have to wait is next update with unlocking bootloader. I strongly hope that the devices from overseas could update as fast as from korea's
