Auto text after call end?

Hey guys,
Am just getting to grips with android after switching from Windows Mobile. I must say I love the operating system I think this is one of the best phones I've ever had.
Anyways, I've just been told by T-mobile that I can now find out my allowence by texting AL to 150.
Is there any application which will allow me to send a text containing AL to 150 everytime I hang up a phone call? This... Similar to O2 PAYG, would automatically alert me of how many remaining minutes I have left after I have had a phone call.
Any Ideas?

Would be good mate but from my experience your allowance doesnt update instantly anyway well in the Uk at least i have make calls and its not been taken off my allowance for upto 1 hour afterwards in some cases well its proberly taken it off but takes a while to update your records for some reason.
dgAway kinda does what you want, it can (among other things) send an sms message to a predefined number whenever you receive a call. Check it out and see if you like it

lost all my contacts

Just curious if this happend to anyone else. I went to add a new phone number on my phone this morning, but I saw that all my contacts are now labeled "Unknown".
I lost all my contacts.
I did look at my missed calls over the night and there were 3. two friends and it said what time. An "Unknown" number and didn't say what time they called. I can delete the missed calls, but I cannot delete the "Unknown" missed call.
Is it possible someone called my phone and killed my contacts? I only can get the numbers from my history of calls. which is around 10-15 numbers.
Don't know if anyone can help or not. I do have the tilt and am with t-mobile.
Dutty's latest
i sure hope someone can help you cuz i went through a similar experience TWICE in the last year since i've had my kaiser (last time was TWO DAYS AGO when my beta-based ROM expired cuz of a builtin timebomb). so i feel your pain, but to a minimum degree because i was fortunate enough to have recent backups so i didn't lose more than 10 days of texts, call history, and contacts in both my experiences.
i hope you find a way out...but believe me! there WILL BE a next time! like it or not, data loss is sure to happen to everyone, possibly many times, in some form over their lifetimes.
fortunately, with windows mobile, you can use "pimbackup" (just search for it on xda!) to make regular backups to your memory card of all such otherwise-difficult-to-backup pieces of data like texts, call history, and contacts. in my opinion, it is a much more reliable and manageable way to take backups of precious information than using activesync! in case you are unable to recover your data this time, at least take precautions now to be prepared next time it happens!
IDEA!!! try pimbackup right NOW...look at its logs carefully when it is performing the backup to see how many contacts and call records it can retrieve...who knows, maybe it can read the database in case the OS's native routines are shot. if you think pimbackup is able to see data that your OS can't, then you might want to think about restoring the backup to see if it fixes things...
good luck!
thanks, i will try this when i get home from work today.
I keep all my contacts on my sim card. not sure if it can grab that.

[Q] Calling when out of the country...

Hello,
I'm going to be going to Canada and would like to know if there is any app out there that is gonna let me call people via a wifi connection. It would be too expensive to use even a calling card. I know Skype would probably do the trick but if there's something else that would be great (Skype's a bit of a battery killer).
Also, if anyone knows of any apps for texting that would be great as well. Google Voice is fine, but it send texts from the Google Voice number. And Whattheapp is fantastic but only for people who have it as well. I just need to be able to contact people who only use simple SMS.
Thank you guys!!
Can a mod move this to the Q&A section? I'll probably get more views that way. Thanks!
Maybe using Tikl, but that replies on the people you want to call also having it on their phones... Other than that, yeah, you'll need some sort of VoIP app/service.

Facebook chat option for SMS screen...does it affect your message plan

Now my assumption is that FB chat feature in Windows Phone 8 would *not* count towards your monthly text message count (on your message plan). Has anyone determined this? I looked at Microsoft's Q/A section and it doesn't specify this.
Anyone know?
I tried asking AT&T and I couldn't get an answer from them for the life of me for some reason so I kindly bowed out of the call and went here
Hi,
as far as I know, it should not affect your text messages as it uses your data connection (3G, whatever you use) or WLAN, if there is some.
regards,
Correct. It costs data, not SMS.
Always good to know!
I was surprised that I couldn't find this questions asked by anyone else when searching google or xda. 99.9% of the time when you have a question...chances are...someone else has already asked it. I can't let myself believe I was the first for this one but regardless....now there is an answer
Eh... the easy way to test is to turn off your data connection, notice that Messaging hub says it can't connect to Facebook. Turn it back on, and suddenly it can! Pretty straightforward.

Constant SMS from 9485

Hey Guys,
After the 4.4.4 OTA update was installed, my hangouts started going off constantly with SMS from +19485. The text of the message is itson:cAwASAQYzNTk5MDkCCAAAAUmMfayi
The letters will sometimes change but it is always in the form itson:blahblahblah. I was able to block the number in hangouts to stop the constant notifications, but it still forwards it to my email. I didn't seem to find anyone with a similar problem, but I did find several reports of the new ItsOn app from Sprint Draining battery. I can't seem to find the itson service on my phone.
I did a HTC backup and restore, but it started the texts started coming in immediately.
Any ideas?
I received 2 yesterday, same thing. 9485: itson:cAwASAQY2MDg0MDcCCAAAAUmOki5E. Slightly different from yours. I did a little research and it seems Spring "...will use a cloud-based mobile service from ItsOn Inc., which lets carriers manage billing and offer customers flexible plans. The service oversees traffic management and policy controls for operators..." (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-...on-software-for-flexible-mobile-services.html) Not sure what this means to us though.
Same
It's been happening to me too. Called Sprint twice with no success. This seems awfully similar to when they rolled out sms in hangouts and sprint VM didn't play nice so you got constant texts of gibberish every time you got a VM. I did a factory reset which didn't help. I turned off notifications in hangouts but I can't help but think this constant texting, whether I look at it or not, is hurting battery in some aspect. That being said I've noticed less battery life out of my M8 since this has all started and can't help but think they are related.
Try this:

The texts seemed to have stopped on their own. Thanks for the suggestions.
