theres no official ROM because there hasn't been a need for Samsung to release one and because very few people have this device which is an amazing device, its not been leaked either
Tell me, what do you mean by you have installed a custom ROM 8779? that OS version isn't available to us, we have only 8773 from MS
To my knowledge There are no custom ROMs, there are no official ones, there are no OS dumps, there is no access to use the download mode, or change the bootloader, there is however limited access to the diagnostic mode, parts of the EFS, parts of the RAM and several other low level areas of the device outside of the OS

yes, its my focus s , i bought it on taobao(a famous Shopping website in china )
its with custom rom(8779) when i got it.
you know some developers made the custom roms for sale(maybe just in our country)
i cant get the rom , they wont share them
i cant upgrade my phone too (the wp 7.8)
so i want to rollback
the other way to upgrade my phone is send my phone to the dev
my English is poor, maybe there are some mistakes. i hope you can know what i say

very interesting, and your English is fine
there are three possibilities
1, Its faked, its so easy to change that info screen
2, its real but they didn't install a custom ROM, they have gained access to the 7889 CAB files and updated the OS manually
3, its real and they updated the ROM somehow
if you would mine could you try and dump the ROM, using QPST Here
its not easy to use and don't ever hit any buttons marked "write" if you want to help ill type up instructions, but essentially you need to make sure the SPC is correct, then download this, then put your phone in to diagnostic mode using the diagnostic tool, add the COM port to QPST and connect to the phone, click start clients, then software download, click multi image, then fill in where you want it and click start, your phone should restart in to a download mode and after that I don't know what will happen, to get out of the download mode you just unplug and hold the power button until it turns off.
ill write a more detailed guide if you want to help

my mobile phone is a Samsung Focus S, already tried, but did not find any CAB for the update.

To stop the Demo demonstrations, you have to install ROOT WP7 TOOLS.

Then in explorer you have to go to the Startup folder (windows\StartUp) you have to create a new folder and copy all files except RetailDemoService.lnk.
Then in Registry, you have to go to shortcuts folder (Local Machine\System\Explorer\Shell Folders) and change the StartUp file, change the value data from \Windows\StartUp\ to \Windows\StartUp\new\.
After this restart the device.

Hey Dazza, I wish you guys the best in finding a way to develop a custom rom. I myself am trying to help get custom roms for my Dell Venue Pro. Anyways, I have this Samsung Focas S that has a demo and I want to disable it as of Ricardox6 instructions. I just did the windowsbreak, but I want to know do I install now that XAP Deployer or can I just jump straight to the wp7 root tool?

As I said to some one else, if you really want android... just sell the phone and buy any HTC with android on it... there's a LOT or custom roms for HTC android devices to fit your taste...

Bootloader protection blocks all the possibilities of any Android ROM running on a WP7 device... yes the HD2 has the same basic hardware as the HD7, but they don't share the same logic, nor the same OS or bootloader.
I just want to see this "request" on any WP8 device, that would make my day...
There is no roms no kernels and not even a recovery. At the LEAST. Why is there absolutely. Nothing being done and what will make you make roms kernels and recoveris ?
There are roms. My FLEX THIS stock deodexed, zipaligned, and debloated Rom is posted but the link is down due to to much traffic downloading it. And I'm working on getting another hosting site as we speak. Because I need to repost it along with the highly themed version of FLEX THIS. Using the deodexed base. There is a great MIUI posted in the dev section also. There is a stock kit Kat posted there as well. Playfulgod is working on a CM11, and several people working on getting a kernel built to allow custom recovery on kit Kat since our boot loader is locked down so tight.
But I guarantee you this, coming in here with the "its mine and I want it now and you're gonna give it to me because I'm better and spoiled" attitude will get you no support when you do flash something and mess your phone up , cuz it's obvious you don't know the back from the front when the screens not lit up nor do you care to learn and help.... Or otherwise you would be building a Rom or asking how to help or teach me please so I can help. But I hear there are lots of shiny roms on the iphone try it out. It now has 5 rows of icons.

And I've got a custom recovery on my FLEX. TWRP. And sometimes when I'm bored I use Playfulgod's FREEDOM FLEX apk to install CWM just to get a different look in recovery.
I was wondering the same but i dont bother posting cause i am patiently,eagerly,and determined to play with playfulgods cm11. I would try and help but i work loooooooong hours. Taking a vacay starting friday,so, if i can be of assisstance in helping bu ok lding a rom,please let me know how i can help. May need to walk me through some,but,not all processes. Ill be be glad to be part of the dev team. I know my way around linux,but,not a pro. So i will try my best if given a task from a dev.

I've had so many phones that have more than a hand full of roms made for them daily. So i dont mean to come off so eager and impatient. Just not use to seeing only. 2 or 3 roms. And dont jump. The gun im absolutely. Willing to learn and be tought on how to make roms and kernels. So if your willing. To teach thats even better i have plenty of free time so im available. Whenever. But thanks for.informing me on the things i didnt know about .

Sounds and looks like someone needs/should take up development, or the very least provide something valuable to the Community. Vice posting your rant/issue/want/why's. You are willing to learn, then go learn there are millions of threads that show, "how to development".....so jump in and get self-motivated. I just bought this phone in latin america, the specs seem a bit different from the ones described on forum main page, are there more sub-models I'm not aware of? although on my phone info just says HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle
what about battery life? i like to buy this phone...
I was the beta tester for it. Battery time is about 15 hours with normal use. but beta phones has many loger programs and sends push up reports to htc. I guess it will be about 20-22 hours without logers

I was also Beta tester and first I thought that the desire 10 lifestyle is the desire 825 but it seems to be similar. Did you managed to flash a standard recover ROM to get rid of the annoying beta logger?
Is anybody able to install a working custom recovery on the lifestyle 10. I have now the a56dj twrp recovery which does work if using a third party flashing tool like flashify because entering into twrp itself works but than the touchscreen isnt working. Btw i am having the desire lifestyle 10 dual sim aka a56dj dugl.
Furthermore i woul like to disable wp security or install a customized 'stock' rom to be able to be fully in controle of my phone. Damm i hate it that i cant figure this out myself..
No I couldn't. I can't find the full rom anywhere.
Phone has superCID and S-Off, any reagion rom will work on it but I can't find any
