just flash another rom man .u just wiped your entire system .There is nothing in it now flash a stock rom via ODIN !!
Can't. If i can i won't be asking it here. Like i said my phone can't connect to my pc. Plus the usb utilities option in Setting/wireless connection didn't do sh!t. Its "Not" a faulty micro usb port, coz its charging. So i must be missing the "usb driver installer" from within the phone.
So can anybody plsz upload the usb driver from thier phone for me?? That'd be much appreciate. Plz help me out here. I use that function everyday at my work. So its crucial to get that usb/pc connection feature. Plzzz....
Regards,
Sdojoin
First of all, formatting system has nothing to do with USB-PC connection.
Your USB cable is f. up, change it and see if works.
Flash a custom rom that u have on SD card(If u have one), untill you buy a new cable.
The cable f up?? But its charging though.. How come it won't connect to my pc?? I got 3 cable & all of them works fine with my X-Play. Erm.. I'm really confused bout this problem. Meh...:banghead:

Dude If you have a flash able ROM then just take out the memory card from the phone put it in card reader, connect with PC, copy ROM zip file into the card.
Put back card into the phone, boot into cwm recovery, flash the ROM and u will get the working ace again.

Thats not the problem as its still working. The problem is "i want my ace to be able to connect to my pc via usb" but "can't". So... Erm.. This's really a f**ked up situation. Aaarrggghh!!!!!:banghead:

just some (hopefully) stupid sidenotes:
you have activated Mass storage in phone, after connecting to PC, did you?
and you pluged it into a USB slot and didnt smash it into some other slot?
ou do have a SD card IN!!!!! the device? and its "seen" by the device?
you DO NOT try to access an extX partition with windows?
your PC and your Phone is turned on, both running without problems and working powersupply?
you flashed the correct ROM for our device? S5830 not S583Xx?
you DO have a fat partition on your SD card?
most questions are just stupid, but you would be surprised what you get to hear at helpdesk hotlines XD
I've tried every posible option that i can think of & find through all over the web but none solve it. Mybe it got to be a problem with the micro usb port. Mybe i'll just take it for a replace & see if it fix the problem.
Anyway, thanks guys for all ur comment, opinion, suggestion & jokes. It really does help me learn bout this phone a bit more.
Regards,

can you acess download mode? if yes then flash a rom via odin (odin flshable packages contain system)
if not, then i dunno.
Yeah, but the odin won't detect the phone. Its probably micro usb port problem. Imma take it to a repair & see how it goes.
Regards,
Sdojoin
Get Samsung USB drivers from here.
I use these drivers for my phone. and check whether your phone is detected by linux or not because windows sucks when it comes to detect hardware.
Moreover if you are able to charge your phone via usb then neither your mini usb port is damaged nor data cable.
use this command in linux terminal to detect all the devices attached to the usb
command is: lsusb.
hope this will help.
A'ight. I giv it a shot. Fyi, i already got the same driver. Mybe i'll try that command. Thanks for hint.
Regards,
Sdojoin
1st of all ... in recovery u can only acess the sd card its in mount / mount usb storage
2nd to flash stock rom you'll need to put it in download mode ( Search )
Dude i know all of that & thats not my problem is. Meh...:banghead:

Anyone have a clue how to fix?
Please help. I miss my cappy. Thanks.
That is definitely download mode if it's pulling up on odin. I would give different ports and a different computer a try this issue has happened to me before sometimes you have to get it into dl mode before or after you start odin.
Hope this helps!
this has been covered in pretty much every thread that involves odin in any way...
reboot pc, swap usb ports to one in the back, if already in the back swaitch to another. right click on odin run as admin BEFORE you plug the phone in.
if you still get the issue try another usb cable, a different pc, or use heimdall instead of odin.
tried on 3 PCs on different ports. 2 different USB cables and both Odin & Heimdall.
no avail.

Try Heimdall on a Linux machine.

1. Your phone is not hard bricked, yet. Don't panic. Read more and do as people are suggesting you.
2. Like studacris suggested, try other PCs, another USB cable etc. And Make sure to use the USB port which is directly on motherboard (not using some sort of USB extension or hub). Try another USB cable. Make sure it is in good contact with Phone as well as PC.
3. Download the Odin 1-click again to make sure you dont have the corrupt file.
thanks, i tried to do it on a mac and pc and it still wont work. My mac wont even recognize my phone. I left it overnight and i think the battery is drained. I dont think it's charging too. Is there an easier solution, or should I just send it back to atnt?

When it starts charging after reboot, your problem seems to be soft rather th Hard.
If wipe cache n wipe data you have performed n still not works, once you should Reflash ROM it manually. Hope it should work.

just get into download mode, Open Odin n connect your deice and check ID COM turning yellow? if yes, it is connected. and you can flash ROM. n if not connected, you should go to service center as it have hardware issue.(Sure PC shudn't have any issue)

Hey guys,
I got a SGS I9000 here from a friend of mine who got it from egay (stupid, but nvm) and I try to fix the device but till now I was not lucky.
I want to upgrade to a newer / higher version but the "faulty" USB makes it very difficult.
Here are the facts:
- The device is running 2.3.3 Gingerbread
- Device Information: GT-I9000HKYDBT + PDA: I9000XWJVI , PHONE: I9000XXJVO, CSC: I9000DBTJV2
- Charging via USB does work, data connection does not work
- Entering Recovery Mode works
- CWM is not installed
- Samsung Kies is installed
- Entering Download Mode works
- External micro-SD Cards are being recognized at Android
- If I connect the device in Windows or Download Mode, the message "USB-Device was not recognized" comes up
What I`ve tried till now:
- three different micro-USB cables (original Samsung, HTC and Motorola)
- two different PCs with Kies installed and not installed
- Tried to flash via Recovery Mode but nothing is shown on the "external SD", even after renaming to update.zip
- Managed to copy files into internal flash but since the "original" Recovery Mode seems to have a verification, the flash process aborts either with
"E:signature verification failed" or "E:failed to verify whole-file signature"
- Odin of course but USB data does not work unfortunately so Odin as well
So the big question for me is:
Is there ANY chance to root/flash the device with the actual difficulties?
Any help or hints are highly appreciated.
Cheers

you may have to try all these http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27205737&postcount=4571 But first break that cycle by removing battery and reinsert after a few min and check phone connection or Mobile Odin is another option
email the recovery file to yourself or upload to dropbox. then download to your phone and flash away!
Don't forget to thoroughly clean your micro usb connector. I once had the same issue with my sgs. Different cables or drivers didn't work. I was about to give up on it, but then fixed it by cleaning it with rubbing alcohol and very tiny dentaid toothbrushes.
Afterwards it worked like a charm. Worth giving a shot, since these connectors collect a lot of dust/dirt over time.

Thanks for your fast reply.
I did mention this thread yesterday but after installing all different drivers, switching of the PC completely and disconnecting all devices, turning BT ON/OFF, switching between Dev Mode and MSD I'm at the same position as before.
Doesn't matter which cable I use, I just get always the same fking message about Device is not being recognized.
In the meantime, I got a 2nd SGS from a friend of mine which works perfectly after connecting the device with my PC.
It starts immediately with the driver installation and is ready in couple of seconds.
I also tried to put the cable carefully into the USB but it doesn't help either.
Any other suggestions?

That would mean, its your USB slot on the phone, that needs a solution, either you have to examine it very closely for damage to resolve it or its internal and you may have to change it.
hey
can u do to download mode??
if u can then upgrade using Odin...
And the uUSB issues cam with my SGS too,but after flashing the firwmare via odin there was no issues...i flashed 2.3.6 ValuePack..
U too can give it a shot..

Well, as told above, I can enter download mode but USB DATA connection does not work!
So from my understanding, Odin only works if there's a valid connection, otherwise I could flash anything and would not have the problem
Mobile Odin does not work due to the root restriction.
Is there any way to flash another ROM or get the the device rooted with these restrictions?
Stuck on First Screen
Well this is not an answer to the problem. Well am having the same problem as you, just mine is more complicated.
I managed to root using Z4root by copying the APK file on external sd .
I got cmw and entered recovery.
I updated using the CM10-unofficial rom that is in the development forum
I restored the nand that i did in recovery and now the phone is frozen (Stuck) on the first boot screen (Galaxy S GT-i9000 SCREEN)
Now I can go to Download mode but I can't go to recovery mode.
Let me remind you that my USB data connection is not working.
So now I am looking for a solution that would permit me to flash without USB or allow me to go to recovery mode.
Or a tutorial on how to change the usb port myself.
Thanks in advance.

As long as you can get to download mode, flashing should solve your problem after you resolve the USB problem , which can be due a number of issues.
Somehow ROM changes and bad flashes, may have pin configuration changes on the phone, (just like changes in combo key functions when you use different ROM) ...so driver changes works for some
So you may have to try all these http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27205737&postcount=4571 options to get your USB connection back. But first break that cycle by removing battery and reinsert after a few min and check phone connection , and try those options.

Sorry to repeat my comment again, but if all these drivers aren't working for you, you should check your micro-usb connector. I'm pretty sure the connector is the issue here.
Have you tried cleaning the micro-usb connector on your phone? Don't just blow the dust out or clean it a bit with some paper, but go for a complete and thorough cleaning solution.
Get yourself some dentaid toothbrushes. Get a few sizes. You can get these at your local pharmacy.

Get some Cleaning / Rubbing Alcohol. You can find this at a handyman store or your local pharmacy should have this as well.
Dip the toothbrush with some rubbing alcohol. The toothbrush should be a bit moist but not dripping wet.
Start cleaning the connector. You can apply some pressure to clean everything.
If this doesn't work, no harm done. These things are quite cheap and rubbing alcohol and these dentaid toothbrushes come in handy when other electronics go bust.
Honestly, just try it! People always dismiss this solution attempt as a last resort but it's usually the problem fixer.
I fixed mine that had the same problem with a similar technique

Do you have ADB set up? See if ADB recognizes fastboot mode. Then maybe you can fastboot flash. But as far as I can tell with my limited knowledge the bootloader seems to be corrupted, which is probly irrepairable. Maybe you can get some of the real devs to help you if you ask nicely enough, I'm just a lurker...

HEY GUYS !!
I am new to xda so im not sure if i have posted it at the right place.
anyway, my phone (galaxy pocket GTS5300) is rooted runs on infuzion 2 kernel and has hydroperia v2 custom rom(i followed the instructions from xda)
so recently i wanted to increase its ram so i partioned my external sd and installed swapper 2 (just like the post in xda),everything went all right
then i downloaded "file2sd"" from play store and installed it to gets some space in my phones internal memory but as i opened the app and selected
the format as ext3 the said i have to reboot and i pressed the "" restart now ""button, thats it and the phone just got stuck i waited for some time no buttons responded so removed the battery and tried turning it on but it just shows a blank screen after showing the model no. and i CANT enter recovery mode but i can enter odin (but my laptop does not recognize the device, eventhough i have tried installing all the usb drivers and kies ,i dont know if its because of the data cable or windows8 or my phone ) so i removed my external sd copied all my files and saw (in mini tool partition wizard)that my 2nd partition was full(512 mb)i didnt know what to do and i formatted everything(sd).
i dont know what to do next .someone please help!!!

you have to force the installation. Right mouse on device. Install driver. select driver manually. (you have to xtract the driver files from the installer first) show "incompatible" devices --> musg be sth like "USB composite device"

you have extracted samsung drivers in a folder on your desktop????
right mouse button on unknown device - install driver - searh pc for drivers -> show list -> select folder where the samsung driver is stored -> unmark "compatible devices" and then you can manually select a device if it shoes not compatible -> ignore just install
before we fill 20 more pages may be you can install "gtalk"?
what next???

MAN did you installed driver as i said? when its showing Samsung USB comosite device --> flash stock rom with odin. S5300 Stock firmwares make sure to have your region
Your phone has to b connected in "download" mode (by pressing the 3 button combo)
If you cant enter download mode? release battery and connect phone to pc with usb cable then press Vol- and home and power and put back in battery while. Your computer should get the device.
you flash stockrom using odin.
Sry for that complicated chat, but its not that easy using a browser based chat for that. Also you got more then 1 person tell what to do. Seems not workin that good...
So if something is still not cleat, may be install GTalk for easier chat or teamviewer that i can "show" what i mean.
regards
no luck
