[Q] failed to mount /data (Invalid argument) - Galaxy Ace S5830i General

Once wiped and rebooted stills shows the next message:
E:failed to mount /data (invalid argument)
E: copy_log_files_to_data :: can't mount /dataRebooting
Could the inner partition be restored?
The phone admits recovery and download options, but any (official or not) rom can be installed without access to the damaged inner partition.
pd. it's a samsung galaxy ace s5830i, which was rooted and enhanced with the LINK2SD app and nothing more (no previous overclocking, no flashing attemp)
Thanks in advance.

In Odin, put the .pit file, and tick "Repartition" (your phone must be in the download mode).
This should (yes, SHOULD) work.

[Q] Converting ext4 failed!

I was converting my galaxy tab p1000 files format (rom android 2.3.3 stock version) to ext4, but while processing in cwm screen switched off and i restarted phone then (maybe unneccesary). But now no rom is working because internal memory, flash memory cannot mount anything, its like stuck between default version of files and ext4 and i dont know how to fix it. CWM and download mode is working.
I installed stock android 2.3.3 rom, but when it run cwm to finish installation after flashing by odin, i have error like this:
updating filesystem...
E: failed to mount / dbdata (invalid argument)
E: discard_filesystem_for_rfs: cant mount/ dbdata
wiping cache...
formating /cache...
cache wipe failed...
updating application...
E: failed to mount /data (Invalid argument)
E: install_application_for_customer: cant mount / data
your storage not prepared yet. please use ui menu for format and reboot actios.
copy application failed.
Installing multi -csc applied the csc- code 'itv'
succesfully aplied multi csc.

It cannot read flash and internal memory properly. how to restore default version of files - not ext4?

Hi,
Take a look at the Overcome-site and follow the Guide to restock GB. Then you can go on installing an ext4-kernel.
I did it this way : restock v5 - Overcome Kernel 4.0.0 (after reboot wait for conversion)- Hyperdroid 1.5... It might happen that after installing the Hyperdroid you get into a bootloop.. Simply reboot into CWM and flash the Hyperdroid Redpill Kernel one more time...

Sure I don't know about galaxy tab 7 plus, but try to flash stock rom via Odin and make sure to select re-partition when you select the pit file.
BTW you post this in the wrong forum.

[Q] need help with bricked captivate

my son got the captivate and I upgraded it OK to AOCP 4.1 (I believe). He went and messed around with it and got it in a bricked state. Its a long story but here's where I am now:
On power up, it goes to the At&T world phone screen and stays.
If I hold both buttons while powering on, it goes to the stock recovery screen but reports:
Media files copy failed.
# Manual Mode#
--Appling Multi-CSC...

Can't access to '/system/csc/ATT/system/'.

E:Gailed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
E:Cant mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Cant open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
It no longer shows up in Odin All I can ever get is it showing up as two removable drives in windows, that say "please insert media" (or whatever). If I insert an sdcard in the slot it won't show up in one of the drives.
Help!
Have you tried getting into download mode? If you can your best bet would be to revert to stock using a one click. There's a sticky thread in the development section for the one clicks. I suggest kk4 it will do a complete wipe and should get you back up and running on gingerbread. From there you'll just need to Odin a custom kernel and then you can flash to whatever ROM you would like.

Thanks for the link! The first thing in the list got me into download mode. I thought I'd tried everything.

after many months of being stuck,
i have now successfully restored my internal to stock with some threads and files ive collected,
all came clear after 2 days ago, why? coz I was always partying and drinking lol
ok the trick is
1. enter download mode to flash m180s_4.1.2_CN_130109 tarball via odin 1.85
2. it be a constant loop in recovery choose advance option reparation sd card to settings u want
3. mount sd card to pc to check desired internal
4. clear all data cache dalvik etc if u can
5.enter download again to flash the rom that worked before,as for me im stuck with Jiwon ROM 2.0S Full
I cant retun to stock froyo,gb and rooted ics. the error still shows when im using those roms

hi mate.
your problem is that you're trying to run a gingerbread rom, while you have an ICS/JB bootloader. the two use an entirely different partition scheme, so it's not finding the storage when it tries to access it. it seems to be a common occurrence, lots of people aren't aware that the two differ, when they're even aware that bootloaders exist.
if you look here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37836094&postcount=2 , you'll find the solution i gave someone else that had that problem the other day.
to succesfuly downgrade from cm10 to stock GB you have to flash 3-file ROM with pit512 and re-partition checked.
