Download them with b2c app (LG update tool), but maybe Windows 8 is simply not supported yet... But idk for sure, just guessing.

I use Windows 8 and my computor picks it up fine.
I am using the newest Lg USB Drivers. Try updating to them and try again.

Im using Windows 8 Pro also. Make sure it is not a RTM or it is not activated. That way there will be no such issues

You aren't mention what version of MS Wind0w$ you're using, and what ROM you used on your phone.

And same as mgregor, don't use front panel to connect USB.
Used drivers must be obsolete. Use 3.2.1 or 3.5 and be sure android platform modem is activated to be recognized by b2c
Try LG United Mobile Driver, there is a link on knzo's CWM recovery thread. And yes try a direct port on motherboard behind your cpu case.
Also try another usb cable.

at this problem.... in my opinion is to check your usb cable or the usb port of your mobile...
if you cannot open the mobile, you can go to a mobile technician and tell him to resolder the usb port of your LG optimus....
My pc is a notebook.
Firstly thanks a lot.

I use 3.2.1 version of drivers. LG PC Suite IV or B2C can't recognize my phone.

It seems a bit risky my friend... I don't know what to do. Can I root my device without connecting to pc?? I want nova. Previously I rooted my wildfire with CM7. It was very different!
Be sure platform modem is activated in peripherals manager. This is what makes the phone being recognized by pc suite and b2c

It is activated but when I try to update driver it can not find any. Which driver should I use at that point? Maybe there is a problem in the connection point on the phone?? I am not use about taking my optimus to a mechanic.
Do you have another computer to test? Perhaps the problem was related to your Wind0w$ system...

Use WiFi, open forum and search GingerBreak, download and install it.
If your ROM are V10A, then it should work..
CMIIW.

I tried to connect my phone to an other XP result is the same "USB device not recognized". I tried Windows 7, Windows 7 did not even pop-up! Nothing happened! Only my phone was charging.
I am looking for gingerbreak but this problem is very annoying for transfering files. Each time I have to remove the SD card... Or myphoneexplorer(connected by wireless)...
Any advice?
Hi guys,
I finally managed to connect my phone to my pc. The problem was about the cables that I tried. Another original lg cable solved my problem.
But now I have an other problem. The brightness of my screen. It is usually at the minimum brightness and I can't change it. It does not change anything when I change the brightness settings. I tried other firmwares from http://luivit.altervista.org/firmwareP970/index.php but did not work still the same!
Help please...

You're using an 11 year old operating system that hasn't had a proper update in 4 years...
Probably a driver issue! IIRC ICS uses a different protocol for usb than GB, so that's probably why.

Sure xp is an old operating system but with the nexus prime i didn't have problems and it works fine. It' s a driver's problem but what could i do to solve it ? Thanks
plug the phoine in
go into device manager and remove the listed device with the error unplug phone an plug it back in and let it reinstall itself
if that fails, try it on a different pc if it works then you know its your pc causing it

Not really sure if I'll try since the .exe lg drives you gave me is the same as the one I tried before.
The only way I believe I could overcome this is to install manually the lg drivers but I don't know where to find the files to do so

you can try to do it from the folder (in your C://) and after that in my folder (there are two important files). Can you see if there is the driver folder in C:?

Well I plugged the phone to the PC in S/W mode and it automatically installed the modem and usb drivers...
However whenever I connect the phone to the PC in LG software mode it appears in device manager as "unknown device" and windows does not find any compatible drivers on the LG folder nor anywhere else on the PC for that matter.
Any other ideas?

I dont use win8 myself, so i can only guess. Go to the driver installer .exe file, right click it and see, if you can maybe set compatibility mode in it to windows 7. Also make sure you run it as admin. And if that also doesnt work, how about disabling your anti virus and all other programs you dont need at that moment and try then?

is the problem from my phone or from my PC ?
thanks for Help
sorry of the bad English not my first Lang.
Your device does show up in the device manager, so that's a good sign! Can you see what the exclamation mark means in the properties?
Same problem here...
Tried with another P880 on same computer and it was found.
ADB works, and access to SD-cards (internal/external) works just fine.
Only thing that doesn't work is PC Suite, it just doesn't find the rooted device.
Any ideas?
Which OS you are on? I am on windows 8.1 and i had to install Windows Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 8.1 to manage to access phones memory.

But I don't think that's the problem since there was no problems accessing or updating the phones before rooting.
I even tried one non-roted P880 (my gf's) on same computers without any problem.

Depends what OS do you have in pc. If you are using windows xp, the connection between phone and pc isn't even ok.
You can try to install samsung drivers ( just google: ''SAMSUNG USB DRIVERS FOR MOBILE PHONES'' , and get the lastest version)
Then depends what android version do you have.
If you are running the stock gingerbread, the connection type is Mass Storage
If you are not running gb, your phone will connect by defaut, as MTP Device. This doesn't require special drivers, so is working also with xp.

You can get the drivers from HERE, only download the drivers nothing else, because this guide is for GT-S5570I, but drivers are for all Samsung mobile phones.
