i can not open the camera app... it keeps opening and stoping .....
HELLPPPPP!!!
I think the camera module is not well placed or displaced due to vibration caused by vibrator which is located near it . So if ur phone is under warranty ask for change if not open the top screws and gently pull up the back cover (its flexible to some exent) and u'll see the module then push the module down to the board using a flat plastic tool ,u'll hear a click or feel when it is placed back. Its done ,test the camera before putting screws back
Hope it helps

the camera-module would be an easy replacement, you just need to remove the black part of the case under the battery secured by three screws and carefully pry it off. what i've heard though (over a year ago, when i was about to repair mine) is that the camera-module is somehow coupled to the specific phone it is in by a s/n or something, i don't know. didn't have a chance to test it out myself though.
just checked prices. i'd say you can give it a try, since the module is only 10 bucks on ebay. this one even comes with the needed screwdrivers:

www .ebay.at/itm/OEM-WEB-DIGITAL-CAMERA-MODULE-FOR-HTC-GOOGLE-NEXUS-ONE-/350719742677?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item51a88692d5
this should get you set:
www .ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+One+Teardown/1654/1
just a quick tip: if you remove the little metal-bracket/frame holding the cam in place, take notes of the orientation of bracket and cam so you can correctly reasseble it right away.
have fun!
Yeah I'm Gina have to try that later. I'm not to worried about it just wondering if it can be done as my n1 is not my main phone anymore

Has anyone else successfully changed the Z's screen? and if so what did you use to secure the device's screen and battery panel to the phone chassis?
It's attached with glue, you need hair blower.

Guys i hv experienced 1 strange problem... My xperia sp camera gets blur or oiled something on lens and it cant remove with all types of cleaning process...
Actually it starts from a story:-
Me and my friend "techkeeda" have the same xperia sp.. Around 2 months ago his camera get blur and when i compared it ith my new sp, mine was super clear... So we decided to get fixed from service center.... But some how with tight schedule we couldn't go to service center.... but what i got!!! with the passage of time my friend's xsp camera get cleared and mine was get dirt and blur same like my friend's xsp...
I dont know from when that problem gets started and how long it continues... 3 days ago we both installed ExistenZ rom and then checked both cameras... After installing that rom camera gives better outputs but mine jst blur blur blur.....
Anyone have any solution of this problem?? Plz share

Ensure there's no layers of "protective frames" on top of the camera
Catching my breath, letting it go, turning my cheek for the sake of the show
Jst checked... But there is no protection kind of thing over there.... Even during ensuring the protective layer got scratch on glass with my nails
But doesnt matter my older phone has so many scratches but camera works jst fine...

bro, what kind of scratches? does the scratches are over the glass covering the lens? how do you fix it?
i have the same problem today, i get blurry pictures because of the scratches all over the glass covering the lens.
is there any problem to fix this? or we don't have the same problem?
If the glas is scratched go to a local store and ask them if it possible to replace it. (It should be possible).
But try to clean it first
Bro the glass of lens still have many scratches but not deep scratches... I think i didnt use camera from around 1 month (as camera was jst the name sake) so may be the dirt get sticked over it... But after existenz rom camera jst gone to the next level so i need itto be cleared and finally i apply nail polish remover with cotton and rub it with hard hands then cleaned it with new cotton and applied 1 tip or cold cream ( i use to apply clod creame on dvd and cd when they got many scratches and it worked ) then cleaned it with very soft puece of cloth... And here it is my camera...

thanks for the information bro. but im afraid that if i put any solution to the camera like what you have used (nail polish remover and cold cream), i think that some of the solution might enter the camera and can seriously damage it.
I think the glass is sealed pack... Otherwise dust could also come inside glass... Keeping this thing in mind i took that step... Actually i was afraid too...

Hi guys!
As the Title says, my display is broken.
I dont know how it happend actually but there are cracks all over the place:silly:
The Screen (Display) itself works but the touchscreen is not working.
My Question is: Is it enough to buy just the Digitizer or should I replace the whole display.
The difference in terms of money to spend are pretty big.
I thought about something like this:
Screen: http://www.ebay.at/itm/Neu-Digitize...zer_Ersatzteile_Werkzeuge&hash=item3ce4df392d
Sealing: http://www.ebay.at/itm/Sony-Xperia-...zer_Ersatzteile_Werkzeuge&hash=item3f392ed01d
Backcover: http://www.ebay.at/itm/Original-Akk...zer_Ersatzteile_Werkzeuge&hash=item4ad9038970
Repairstuff: http://www.ebay.at/itm/Repair-Tools...zer_Ersatzteile_Werkzeuge&hash=item3f336a48d9
Is there anything else?
Best Regards
IJOJOI
Yes and no...
If you manage to take it apart and it doesn't break you can use old parts.
Digutizer and glass are glued together and it could be problem to separate them.
Have that problem on XU so I'm quite sure you'll have it on Z/Z1/Z2

The glass + digitizer are dead. I wanted to replace them together.. The only thing I dont need is the LCD Display.
Oh...sorry...I was reading in the car...
I'm not sure for that...
Check YouTube and see, if they aren't glued together there's no reason why you shouldn't use old LCD..
If you can find it separate, of course...

my own exp on replacing:
z1 is one of the easiest phones to change LCD i think
just need a little notice and focus
here is the linked that i followed to replace my lcd :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVALfBNvpOA&noredirect=1
+ first dont forget not damaging the frame when opening the back glass. try putting the the blue thing in the second mic to open it.
+ try to do the replacement in a dust free room to avoid some problems.
+ clean the lcd back for sure bcoz just one little dust on back of display can make the display pressed( changes color to black ) when pushing the display a little bit hard.
+ as you are trying to install the new lcd ,for sure seal it tight, because you may see some light from the cracks( the issue i'm suffering from) .after replacing it push it for a little long to make the glue works good and avoid problems
+ when closing the phone again try to clean the camera lens and the camera glass on the back cover to avoid image quality loss
+ for sure glue around the camera and led flash so so so tight bcoz if the back glass dont fit well , the flash's light will cover the lens while trying to take pics with flash and the image will be a garbage . ( you can put a kind of black sheet or sth between the camera and lens to avoid this)
these were all my personal issues on replacement ..
hope you dont have them
hope it be helpful..

Hello,
This morning, my phone worked perfectly, and i see some dust inside of the screen, so i opened my phone to clean this, i've cleaned the touch screen from inside, and when i reassemble my phone, all work fine just the touch screen don't work, i've retried the same operation, verified all but not working
I want to know the reason of thin, shouldn't I clean the touchscreen from inside (I have used a cleaner...)
And which site is trusted to sale this at best prices
Thanks
I'm no expert, but if the touchscreen worked before taking it apart and doesn't afterwards that probably means you broke it during the taking apart. You probably forgot to connect something back up or accidentally pulled off a connector. Not sure what you could do about it beyond having another look or taking it to a repair shop to see what they say.
Disassemble the phone again and see if you connect connector of touch screen, it is on the top of the board after you remove plastic cover.
