Hi, I have connected the TV dock to a power outlet and HDMI cable to my TV and I also have my TV dock connected to a charger. But nothing happens and my TV does not detect the TV dock and the TV launcher application does not start at all. Just wondering how do I get it to work and do I have to do something with the smart connect application? Thanks.

Well i have had my ps3 for about a month and i bought component cables for it because the hdmi wasnt working. But i have decided i want to use hdmi.
When i plug my high quality gold hdmi lead into the tv and ps3 i turn it on and no picture no sound. I read on the internet, hold the power button in and it will auto set the video, still no sound or picture. I plug the component back in and it works, i go to display settings and switch to hdmi, i switch channel on tv to hdmi it says no signal.
Hmmm...
The tvs im using:
Sony Bravia KDL-32EX403 1080p
Tesco Technika 22" 1080I
The ps3 is a phat 40gb f/w 3.50
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Make sure you are switched to the right HDMI port, I know my TV has a few of them
Then try a different cable.

The bravia tv i have is a couple of years old and not one of the new ones with nfc on board, so far all ive been able to find on the net about connecting is to use nfc (only on the new bravias)
so any ideas?
Well if your TV has Wi-Fi then you can use the Screen Mirroring, which can be found under SETTINGS, XPERIA then Screen Mirroring. And if you don't have Wi-Fi enabled TV then you may need to buy a MHL adaptor to connect with a HDMI cable like you did with previous phones.

My bravia hx855 has Wi-Fi but mirroring AFAIK is supported only via miracast, without that you can only use "throw" function....

my bravia is a few years old and dose not have wifi allthough i think you can buy a dongle/adapter for it..would need to look into that, would prefer an option to be able to sit in the chair and send the content to the tv rather than using a cable.
What about wireless streamers like roku etc, anyway to use that?

I have a similar old TV, but it's connected to my PS3 - I throw to the PS3, it displays on the TV.
You can also use an MHL cable to HDMI wire.
greetings,
i did a lot of googling around, but only found more and more confusion. i understand that the xperia t has a microusb port that can be used for charging, connect usb devices with an otg cable (tested), and connect an external monitor/tv with an mhl adapter (haven't tested yet).
i've also come across a dock (sony calls it the 'tv dock') which is supposed to charge provide charging *and* allow a monitor to be connected - some say it has a usb port for connecting accessories, but according to the pictures and videos i've seen, it's clearly only meant for charging.
so.. since most people here are a lot more knowledgeable than me, my question is:
is there any accessory/cable/hack that allows me to connect an external monitor, a keyboard, *and* charge the phone at the same time?
thanks,
bamdad
p.s. this is my first post, so hi xda folks.. ^^
On Xperia Arc S, this is possible, because he have Hdmi port and micro USB port for charge.
Here in Xperia T, we have only one port, micro USB. I use mhl to Hdmi cable with USB cable to charge and make possible to see picture on TV for example, and I use Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad like mouse.
For me, this is all that I want, to make this feature to work.
Edit: Another possibility is to use screen mirroring function from phone with HDMI mirroring dongle to TV.

meh, too bad. i'm not really a fan of bt keyboards, because most of them run on batteries. i read somewhere that in *some* phones it's possible to get both usb and hdmi on the same connector (iirc it has something to do with it having more pins).
what do you mean by that 'mirroring function'?
Yes, the USB and Hdmi are posible on one cable. I have this one:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/281051732741
Edit: for mirroring like this for example :
HDMI CHROMECAST Dlna stream.

This is for free micro USB on the phone to charge it and plug your keyboard and mouse, with USB-Otg cable to the phone with USB hub or dock Dk10 for examples.

Hi, We all know that Xperia SP has screen mirroring feature and we can connect using MHL. It works fine on SONY Bravia TVs. My home has a full HD ONIDA LCD TV. It has 2 HDMI ports. If I connect, my phone to this TV using MHL to HDMI adapter, can I see phone screen on the TV? Give some more points about screen mirroring and MHL features of SONY phones with TVs other than SONY.

I have used MHL "TV Out" with MHL to HDMI adapter with Sharp and Samsung TV.
MHL it's not Screen Mirroring. Its two others features. First use MHL Adapter to send signal to TV. Second one. Use NO CABLE (wifi?) connection to display screen on other SONY devices (which support it).
No progblem with MHL at all, but....
First - My MHL adapter needs a little more power than standard SPs charger. With standard charger from SP my phone disconnects sometimes. Recconections after about 10 sec. With another charger (1A/5,1V) works perfect. Airplane mode on and I can play GTA:SA for hours
Second - phone charge veeeeery slow when connected to TV. About 5%/h :S
I bought a type c to HDMI cable, hoping it would work with my TV Unfortunately it didnt, anyone know another way round this or if elephone are going to get a set up for this as I'm really wanting to watch the phone 4g access through my TV (not casting) as I've no phone line so no wifi, or access to one!!!!!???
Screen mirroring or Miracast will be your only option. You can also set up a hotspot if your smart tv is Wifi compatible. Alot of new phones have no MHL compatibility.
You can use chromecast with localcast app for media on your phone or stream off 4g using chromecast compatible apps without mirroring. It works with personal hotspot but you need a second phone to do the initial chromecast setup.
You can use a DisplayLink USB graphics adaptor and the DisplayLink app from the Google app store. It works for me.
I also can use a Dell D3100 docking station, for HDMI output, and keyboard _ mouse input.

What rom did you use and what DisplayLink USB graphics was that? I tried my own one, but it kind of didn't wanted to work.
Also, I'm really curious: Did the D3100 charge your phone while being used with stuff connected to the dock?

I use an elephone P9000 with standard ROM.
The dock does not charge the phone but the phone has wireless charging.

Currently the P9000 does not use the Dock audio output, nor the audio on my plugable USB3-HDMI-DVI adaptor.
I don't know if it used to to audio before the latest firmware.
---------- Post added at 05:13 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:08 AM ----------
I have also used this device with much success, with Dell Android Tablet, Windows laptops, Motorola Moto-G: http://plugable.com/products/usb3-hdmi-dvi/
It "works" with P9000 but currently is not passing audio over HDMI. I can't remember if I ever had that working on earlier firmware.
