Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a screen protector that can add some extra grip to the screen to make handwriting easier. It needs to be hard enough not to get punctured by pressure or scratched.
Thanks in advance

I think they should all be good enough for the pen. Even the cheap on I got from the sprint store is plenty hard enough.
With that said I'm ordering this one below. I've had them before and they are ultra clear and very scratch resistant. Far better than Zagg.
SPIGEN SGP Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Screen Protector Clear Steinheil [Ultra Crystal]
X2 on the ultra Crystal running it now, very nice

Do not look at any of the wet install protectors. They will get indentions from the s-pen. All the dry install ones will be fine tho. Ghost armor, zagg hd... both get tiny marks from the s-pen.
Avoid the SGP Ultra Optics and probably all the matte and anti-fingerprint protectors. I thought a bit of grip would help handwriting but that was a huge mistake, the loose tip doesn't get along with the extra grip.

Ive been using the ultra crystal and now my pens tip has turned blue. This happen to anyone else?

Hmm...I don't agree with this post.
I have the SGP Ultra Optics on my Note 2 now and it actually aids in using the S-Pen with less slippery surface.
The pen still glides over the surface well enough while providing some paper like texture.
The only thing that I don't like is how it makes a bit of squeaky sound, but it's not too bad.
The SGP Ultra makes the screen less reflective of the ambient lights and is still clear enough to show the screen very well.
Highly recommended!
I ordered one of the dba just like glass protectors. Ill let you guys know how it turns out.

Im using the SGP ultra crystal and had no problems at all, the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't cover the entire screen.
Im not happy with the sprint screen protectors yet wanted something on it right away as of right now the sprint one will suffice but it is getting scratched up from the spen.

How hard are you writing with the pen? I'm using tje WriteRight protectors too and the clear one had yet to actually get a scratch from the pen. Any lines left are just lines in skin oil that wipe off.

I'm not writing very hard I'm actually letting the pen just glide but marks will not wipe clean. I guess it could be the extra oil that I leave on it from my hands as I am a maintenance technician by trade. I will figure something out @ some point.

I have now bought three different types of screen protectors and find that all get scrtached by the s-pen way to easily.
I'm from Australia and is it possible to get these Ultra Clear scratch resistent screen protectors delivered here?

Just found out that there are a few cheap TPU cases on ebay now for the Note 2. They are top quality but should protect my baby for a few weeks before other ones come out
Yeah I saw a few on there the other day. What kind of case do you really want? I've been a big fan of TPU as they have protected my EVO and EVO3d very well.

I have bought these 3 cases so far to go with my WHITE note2:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251150214926?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
But ultimately I will get a dual layer case such as Otterbox .....although I have taken off Otterbox on my Note 1 recently and replaced it with a TPU which makes the phone much thinner
Hopefully Otterbox and other dual layer case makers will make WHITE colour cases to go with my white note 2 :fingers-crossed:
I love tpu cases, it's all I've ever used with my n7000.
I like the Mercury brand of cases, they have a glossy and non rubbery texture.

I just wanted to share this very cheap screen protector i bought off ebay. I originally had the one from the sprint store that covers the screen only but the s pen scratched it everytime. I bought these and it covers a good part of the front unlike the sprint one. Ive had it for a week and used the s pen ALOT and not one scratch. If i had to compare it to one id say its as good as the one that comes with the UAG cases. Its very clear the screen is very responsive. I posted some pics along with the seller. I really think everyone would be happy with these protectors

Normal. It's not oleophobic or anything like that. And it's not a matte protector either so fingerprints will show.

Easy to apply to both front and back though the surface is not as smooth as the gorilla glass. Seems to be giving good protection for the 1+ week I have been using it.

I used the XtremeGUARD protector on my screen (not full-body) for about a week while waiting for SGP protectors to come in. The S Pen marked the protector up badly. Use those XtremeGUARD protectors--and any wet-apply protector--only if absolutely necessary on the Note 2.
I would agree if we didn't use the s-pen. It only seems fluid if the screen is naked, or I am using a ultra crystal screen protector. Then, it's almost slippery. Now if I could not get dust underneath AND line it up right, I would be happy. Very difficult with this damn enormous screen, lol.
I ordered two sets of these a couple days ago before seeing this post, now I'm excited to receive these I had ordered some ikross branded ones from amazon two weeks ago which turned out to be crap, hopefully these are a lot better.

I agree with the OP. This screen protector is excellent and does not scratch with the S pen like the Sprint store screen protector. I did have to sacrifice one when applying because of dust under the screen and there is still two microscopic one on the second screen protector but it does not bubble up so I am leaving it there.

Hi,
As I changed my Gel case for a thin TPU one, I now have a small problem
I'm using a budget screen cover and all around it, there is a 3 to 5 mm zone where there isn't any protection.
I didn't notice it earlyer as the case was a lot more thick...
Could you please advise me a clear screen cover which is closer to the border of the phone ?

I have used skinomi for every gadget I own, but I since I have a cruzerlite case I need a screen protector that does not cover the entire screen.

You may want to check out the Just Like Glass. I haven't seen or used it myself, but the CEO does come on here and discusses the product.
From what he says, it's designed to leave 1/16" around the phone so people can use it with cases, such as a TPU, and not have the case push on the edge of the protector, per user requests. Sometimes, the cases push the protector up, which can lead the dirt getting under it or peeling.
I'm going to order one when they become available again, which is expect next week. I'm coming from using Zagg protectors the last four or so years.

Most screen protector manufacturers don't go all the way to the edge because of the rounded glass samsung used. I can attest to this, you don't want a protector up that far on the glass, because it will peel after a few times going in and out of your pocket. I only had this happen with wet application protectors (Ghost Armor and Zagg HD are two I used, both failed). I switched to SGP's Ultra Crystal, which feels like the original glass and doesn't reach the rounded part.
I have a HD Zagg Invisible Shield installed on my Note 2. Not happy with all the marks made by the S-Pen. Does anyone have a normal or smudge-proof shield installed on their Note 2? Does the S-Pen mark up the shield? Thanks.

From what I've read, I've seen happy results with Spigen or Just Like Glass. I believe JLG claims better protection, but Spigen has a little better coverage. I have the "pink" Spigen one and am very happy. Install went perfect, lined up well and if you're super careful with dust, a dry install is fine. It's also a 2-pack so you can replace it when it gets marked up.

I'm jumping on this "Zagg is crap" train. SPen smuggling everywhere after only a week. While Corning is smooth under the fingers, Zagg is slightly less rougher than sandpaper while attempting a scroll. Way overpriced. And buddies, if you ain't a master at applying, you definitely just wasted $25! My advice: pass up the Zagg aisle.
I have Just Like Glass. It's been 10 days, and there are still three bubbles of solution under it. They are shrinking steadily day by day, but it can take two weeks to clear up. Application was easy. Surface is slick and hard. Gonna be cool once the bubbles FINALLY evaporate.

Pretty awesome if you ask me. The one thing I am worried about it cases. I don't want to get a case that will peel the edges up or anything. :/

My son just got his N2 and all they had at Best buy was the Zagg. He got it for some peace of mind until I could see him last weekend. I had an SGP oleophobic ready to go . Best Buy has a "New & Improved - Smudge Free" zagg invisible shield. Along with the High Definition version. The Smudge free doesn't feel rubbery like the original Invisible Shield, and has a stronger texture than the HD version. I would still prefer the HD version because for some reason the smudge free one feels very similar to the Anti Glare 2$ protectors from Amazon/eBay

Thanks for the review! I have owned Otterbox cases in the past and they were OK (my old iPhone 4S Defender case was not that good though - it lost its original shape pretty quickly)
That's true, however I have yet to discover ANY for the note 2 commuter. I'm sure it'd get pretty popular being the only one in existence. Since the note 2 is so much bigger, I'd like to see if the result s are the same.

I find myself using my defender more often now since my phone has taken a few dives off of tables from sliding in the commuter case. You could always put something like a fly grip on the back, but I personally find those to be ugly.
I still use my Commuter, but the defender is a better case design (remove built in screen protector) and the size difference is minimal between the two cases.

In the defender thread there someone complaining that after he removed the screen protector from the defender the screen was scratch by touching the hard inner plastic.
I wouldn't know. I use a full coverage screen protector so plastic doesn't actually touch my screen or bezel and I have yet to see any scratches on the protector. I'm not sure how plastic can scratch a gg2 screen considering the hardness of the two materials. Perhaps he got the scratch from a harder material and didn't notice till later
