Few people have called Play Store Support and they have said 12:00 noon. Its a rumour at this point not official, nothing is.

Thanks for making the thread, I was looking too.
The Play Store thinks I'm in the USA because of work, which is going to complicate this! I'll have to make a Wifi hotspot and order that way.

Even though in the end I will probably get it from the play store, but does anybody know if other stores will be selling it that I could walk into to pick it up?

additional info
just want to share this, reading from other threads, each google id can buy only max to 5 phones. but i'd expect google will cap to 1 phone per id since they sold out in uk and aussie. just my thought though, nothing concrete yet.
ps-anyone from the west coast? one more hour to go!

Thanks for making this thread, I'm waiting impatiently and nervously for noon lol
Glad to hear it is shipping from within Canada

Reporting in! Hopefully things are smoother for us than what happened overseas. Sold my GN couple weeks ago and been using a Nexus S since then, was a great phone for it's time but really long in the tooth now and painful to use sometimes. Hope there is enough stock for us canucks!

Having just had my Galaxy Nexus break on me a month ago, I feel your pain... and then some, since I sold my Nexus S a long time ago and am currently using my ancient Nexus One!

Eagerly awaiting the stroke of noon EST here! I checked the page when I woke up this morning at 6AM, no dice. I'm itching to buy this, even though I could really go another year with my Galaxy Nexus...

I think the shipping cost may have changed. I added a Nexus 7 to my cart and shipping is $16.99, yesterday it was $20.

'Out of stock' is being posted on google play for all the other countries within an hour because a lot of people are buying it.
I would recommend whoever wants to buy keep hitting that refresh key.
Are any carriers selling Google Nexus 4 in Canada? Cause I would like to see and feel it before I buy it.
I will be waiting 2 weeks till the 'restocking fee' disappears.

It was up for 2 seconds, both the bumpers and the damn phone. Then it went out of stock and was removed from my cart.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I asked this in another thread, but is the Canadian supply different than the American supply?

Its up again go gog ogogogogo

It just went live people, I just purchased the phone and got the confirmation that it was approved.
In Manitoba it was $359.00 + $16.99 shipping + $43.08 tax = $419.07 total

GOT IT IN MY CART!

Mine arrived today (19th) in Sydney ordered on the 29th June. (16 gig model). Some received theirs on the 18th.
Plugged it in to charge up. (arrived with 40% charge)
After about 5 minutes the first OTA upgrade arrived.(JRO03D)
First thing I notice is that a lot of my apps don't appear in the Play Store. I'm guessing they're not JB compatible. (update - I have sent a few from my phone to the nexus 7 via Dropbox and they install and work)
2nd. Did it already know my username? I don't remember typing it.

Mine looks like this at the moment http://d.pr/i/J9Hl What are the chances that it turns up here in Melbourne by tomorrow even though it estimates Monday? D:
My 16gb shipped on the 17th, it is estimated to arrive by the 25th. I live in Newcastle... Contemplating emailing for a refund on the 2 day shipping, anyone had success?
Ordered on the 29th, didn't ship until yesterday, and it's take 18 hours today to get from one side of Hong Kong to the other, and is scheduled for Monday arrival.
What was that about 2 day shipping?
Decided to buy one today on a whim, will be getting it tomorrow arvo. so stoked! woop :highfive:

I am really impressed with the responsiveness of the screen and it looks great too.
Having fun playing with XBMC (Xbox media centre).
It scored slightly lower on Quadrant Standard than my HTC One X, but that was expected.
Now to root and ROM it!
I know the purpose of this thread is not so much delivery times as Australia Specific stuff, this refund question is probably Australia specific enough to count as your 2 day was changed to 3-5 day.

What a waste?!
I have just got my nexus 7 yesterday, but there were some problems shown up today, okay here is my case, I found a black line across my Nexus
7 screen around lunch time today, then I called ASUS as maintained within warranty booklet, but they told me to call google play instead. and as
always, I called google play from about 2 PM and wait on line until 5PM, it is totally surprised me!there is no-one answer, seems like everyone just
as bored as I do, to wait on the Fkin line and waste my whole Fkin afternoon!
Got mine (16 GB) this morning. Enjoying it so far.

You should be able to arrange an RMA through the contact section rather than phoning Sydney to wait on hold. Right now the people there are overworked dealing with people's orders, the time should drop as we move on, however ask for an RMA, they will ship you a new one, you then return the old one.
Apparently.
So far so good! Tried to download the free Transformers movie, and it just left me with less than a GB on my 8GB, the movie is about 3GB in size. Is there a way to transfer the file to an external Hard drive? Planning to stream it from the hard drive

Nexus 4: The Australian Thread

Hey Guys!
So the Nexus 4 has been released upon the masses with the first batch of the 16GB being sold out in 22 minutes and the 8GB being sold out a few hours later.
This thread will be a general area for Australian owners and potential owners to hang out, ask questions, get advice and get help quickly and within your time zone.
If anyone helps you or offers you advice don't forget to hit the ":good: Thanks" button in the bottom left corner of their post!
Please let me know if there's any important Australian specific information and I will put it here in the OP!
I'm buying one as soon as we are able to on the 13th. I purchased a nexus 7 on release day from the Google play store and received it 3 days after the funds were taken out of my bank account.
Generally they're pretty good with postage. I wouldn't trade my nexus 7 for anything!

Also what are the shipping costs and the price of the phone there? (16 GB)

Not sure about the price to ship to NZ but the shipping cost here for me when it was the N7 launch was $20 2 day shipping.

Same here, really hope that it is going to be released 12am on the 13th which means we will may - if they start shipping that day - have our orders start to be processed before the US even has the option to order hehe..
That is provided they do something similar to the Nexus 7 launch but in a more organised manner. Which I believe is the case.
(ie. Send large amounts of stock to each country that is selling it, wait for them all to get to respective countries, open orders, all send on the same day worldwide.)
I'm getting 16gb model a few days after launch (pay day)
Do they come from an Australian retailer or do our orders get shipped from the US?
My SGS2 has been good to me. My girlfriend will love it! I just can't pass up paying $399 outright for a phone that on paper, is probably the best on the market? You couldn't pay less than $400 for any other phone on our market could you?

Someone in one of the other threads said that this will lauch with a bumper case for the nexus 4
I'm totally buying on the 13th, it just annoys me that I have to pay $40 more than in Canada, considering I've only been here for 2 months... WHY COULDN'T THEY RELEASE IT WITH THE NEXUS 7?!
I'm looking at upgrading from my Galaxy S1 to the Nexus 4 when it comes out. I really don't mind the lack of LTE since I'm on TPG (who don't give access to LTE anyway). I'm pretty sure they do give access to Optus HSPA+ though, which should give me a speed bump from my S1 anyhow.
The only thing I am unsure about is using the Nexus 4 as my main music player, which is one of the main things I use my S1 for, apart from the usual phone and mapping stuff. Registering (through an American proxy) for Google Music and uploading all my music seems like the easiest method of doing this, but I am worried whether all the music streaming I would do would chew through my 1.5GB data allowance per month. Can anyone speak to their experience with music streaming with their monthly data allowance? Any better methods than Google Music in Australia? I've tried Spotify and found they didn't really have all the music I would like to listen to, and their app was still Gingerbread styled... ew.
Another (minor) problem is travelling overseas and having music. Data is too costly if travelling, so I suppose I would be stuck using my S1 while travelling, which I would probably keep as a backup phone anyhow.
I'm going to get this in store rather than on the Play Store since I can't convince my parents to shop online so I'm hoping that JB Hi-Fi will sell this by the end of the month (Does anyone know if it will be in stores next week at all?). Otherwise, can anyone name any stores in Melbourne or Sydney that has a possibility of selling this?

The New Zealand Nexus 4 Thread

Updated 15/7/2013
This thread is a place for New Zealand Nexus 4 owners, or wanna-be owners to discuss/report/speculate on, or just chat about our phones.
I've compiled a list of options showing where/how we can purchase the Nexus 4 in New Zealand...
Expert Infotech (Updated 15/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $548.06 NZD
http://einfo.co.nz/shop/lg-nexus-e960-16gb-black-special-price-p-27320.html
2degrees Online Shop (Updated 22/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $499 NZD
https://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/sh...t__sorig=/SelectCat.do?catId=21&productId=290
Warehouse Stationary (Updated 15/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $699 NZD
http://www.w[email protected]WSL-B2C
MobiCity NZ (Updated 15/7/2013)
16GB Black Nexus 4 $678.86NZD
http://www.mobicity.co.nz/lg-nexus-4-16gb.html
Here is the US GooglePlay Option...
Nexus 4 from Google Play USA (Updated 30/1/2013) This option involves using:
A VPN (recommend Tunnelbear), http://www.tunnelbear.com/
A parcel forwarding service in the US - NZ Post have YouShop http://www.nzpost.co.nz/products-services/online-shopping/youshop (It's worth noting that some members here have had a very mediocre experience with YouShop lately - One has even had his phone stolen after arriving in the YouShop warehouse! This is not indicative of everybody's dealings with them, but I would recommend caution with this option. There are plenty of other companies which may give you a better end result).
Setting up your Google Wallet with the YouShop address in the US (or whatever the address is of your Parcel Forwarding company)
I have read that some people have set up entirely new Google Accounts, so that may also help...
Finally you'll need a whole lot of luck - this seems to have worked for a few people, but not others.
16GB Black Nexus 4 (Ships in 1-2 weeks) $349 USD Shipping costs in the US $15 USD Shipping to NZ via Youshop $15 USD GST/DUTY $87 USD Total Cost $465 USD or $567 NZD
8GB Black Nexus 4 (Ships in 1-2 weeks) $299 USD Shipping costs in the US $15 USD Shipping to NZ via Youshop $15 USD GST/DUTY $0 Total Cost $329 USD or $401 NZD
The US Google Play Store is by far and away the cheapest option available, so if you can do this option, I would recommend you give it a go.
Here are some links to the cases and screen protectors I have on my Nexus 4...
Cases:
SF Matte Black - Rearth Ringke SLIM for LG Google Nexus 4 Soft Feeling Premium Hard Case - ECO Package [Revised Version] $9.99 USD Standard Shipping (averages 10-16 business days) $12.00 USD Total Cost $20.99 USD or $26 NZD (I have a white and a black one of these - seem pretty good so far. Light and slim. There's a minor fitment issue with the original batch of these, but the manufacturers have since revised it and they are replacing the defective ones for free)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A81H176/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A8YCUEQIOX5AP
Screen Protectors:
Google Nexus 4 Screen Protector Steinheil Dual $13.99 USD Shipping $5.04 USD Total $19.03 or $23 NZD (I have used SPG for all my phones screen protectors and they have been great. This one for the Nexus 4 has a front and back screen protector)

Good to know I am not the only one suffering. So far it seems you have already reached into most of the options, I also thought about YouPost but the amount of work required not to mention the added costs, I don't think its worth it. I am just hoping that stocks arrive at the parallel imported sites and the price isn't too hefty. I wish us kiwis weren't discriminated by Google, they have a lot of potential customers here in NZ.
Im also waiting impatiently. I guess we just have to wait, New zealand is such a tiny market compared to other countries. Im keeping an eye out for overseas stores that will ship here to get stock

Me too!!! We should hopefully know more about the price from the parallel imported stores in the next week or two. Google is potentilally missing out by not offering us (and other countries) these services (I guess it's us who ultimately miss out though)!. We may not have the biggest market, but we would be loyal! I'd also love to be able to buy my music from the playstore instead of itunes. I already have 4500 songs uploaded to google music in anticipation of having to downgrade storage on my phone from 16GB internal and 64GB external to the 16GB of the nexus 4, but I don't have the new phone to stream it on!

Great stuff!!! Did you use a NZ credit card with the YouShop address attached to it? Looking forward to the updates. Good to know some of us got lucky...
I'm a bit worried about the price because of what happened with the nexus 7,
I got all excited about a cheap tablet then it ends up being almost as much as an ipad.

Yeah, just a mastercard.. but still currently in "limbo"
So gutted that I didnt get mine. Had my sister in the US getting me one but said she kept getting errors. Guess I'm going to have to wait 2months or so before stock becomes stable enough.

We can only hope that we don't have to wait that long...my guess is we'll get a very limited supply through the parallel importers. The question will be, who is willing to pay the price they are asking....

I reckon you would be best to hold out for the nexus 4. If you're willing to wait a little bit longer then it looks like sony might actually be bringing out a flagship model that will compete directly with the iphone 5 and SGS3 while still being very compatible with the custom rom community...that being said, I know I don't want to wait and I'd love to get my hands on a nexus 4 tomorrow!...
Still no update in regards to availability in NZ...any new info to add guys? :banghead:

So I messaged LG and asked when they expected to be selling the device in NZ and the reply was they had no idea when or if they would be selling it here. That leaves this in the hands of parallel importers which will be random and pricey.
Started looking on eBay in US and Aus but it was all getting to hard but then as luck would have it I saw someone listing one on TradeMe for $735 and I just had to have it so I used the buy now lol I think this might end up being a good price for this device I just can't wait to get my hands on it.

Great stuff mate! I had a look there this morning and didn't see anything... otherwise I would have done that myself....
My 2 Nexus 4's just shipped to YouShop. Hopefully they come without any issues.
I think ill end up forking out for a parallel import for the sake of a warrantee

I think that'll be the only way I'll get my hands on one as well. Unless by some miracle they release more on the Aussie play store and i can get my brother to get one in time. I see in the Aussie thread some one reported that the bumpers were available again...I've already got a SGP screen protector on its way... just no phone to put it on right now

Tell me about it. My cousin is on standby to buy this phone for me. Only problem would be if stock runs out again or it doesnt ship to her by the 21 december for the flight back to nz. I will uterly pissed if either of those situations occur. I already gave her the money for it

I did get the spinning thing, and then the tab that asks for the address.
But when I clicked “Buy” it says, “We couldn’t complete your purchase because of a technical issue.” followed by, “Sorry, we were unable to process this request. The order has been automatically cancelled and you will not be charged for the purchase. Please try again later.”
Happened to anyone else?
Worked for me! Should be shipped in "1-2 weeks"
Wow, that worked. Thanks!
My first order was backordered so I canceled but figured I'd give it another go:good:
Ha! It worked! We'll see what happens...thanks for the tip!
Are they not sold out? Don't complain when your order takes 4 weeks to ship.

Mine is 1-2 weeks; however, Google just changed it to 2-3 weeks. Keep in mind that even Google themselves are saying that the Nexus 4's are not sold out, they're having problems due to traffic. So the more people who successfully order using this, the faster the server frees up and runs again. I believe Google has adequate stock this time around.
Order 16GB using the Tab, Return Key method.
Shipping time was stated as 2 to 3 weeks.
Same shipping time was on my order confirmation email.

[PT] Nexus 5 - Portugal thread

I've searched but I didn't found any thread for the portuguese market.
So, I think that we needed this place to talk about the long waited Nexus 5.
Last year was very to us to get the Nexus 4 (at least at a fair price). Due to the stock crash only in January or February it was available at the main stores like Fnac or MediaMarkt but priced over 550€.
I hope that this year we could have it a lot earlier. Last year Google released some of his services in our country, like books or music. I hope (ok, I haven't that much hope...) they carry on launching their services so that we could have Play Devices but it is unlikely.
Lets see what comes and which retailers would sold it. And we'll alwways have services like forward2me and, my favorite, friends all over Europe

I approve of this post. I've also looked around the Nexus 5 forum and only found a way that involves using Tor and setting up a fake Google account, then buying from the UK, sending to a UK address and having the phone re-shipped to Portugal. This is way too much of a hassle for me and I can't say I fully trust it to work or be particularly cheap.
If anyone knows of a reputable online retailer that stocks the Nexus 5 and ships to Portugal, can you give us a heads up please? Or if you come up with an easier way of getting this candy into our hands?
Handtec has it on pre-sale with delivery expected arround November 11th. It's a litle pricey, it'sm about 359£ to the 16GB and about 401£ to the 32GB version. I'm not sure if we must add shipment dosts to Portugal but if so I don't that is over 10€.
I've read on another forum that forward2me has a special to this device that theeirselves bought the device and just ship it to you but needs to check this.
Thanks, ToneJeco. I'll check out those options. It's a bit of a markup compared to the £299 on Google Play or £295 at Carphone Warehouse, but who knows?

Personally, I'm going to try one of the The Phone House stores (The Phone House = Carphone Warehouse in Portugal, and other countries) and see if they could get a Nexus 5 in. Somehow.
I might do that as well. Did it in Media Markt already (they'll warn me if and when they get the Nexus 5), as they previously had the Nexus 4 for some time.

Fnac.pt will unveil the nexus 5 next week, so next week we'll know if it's an official LG launch or not.
If it is the phone will be available in practically every major chain.
For those thinking about buying via playstore and forward2me it's much cheaper to buy from carphone warehouse (less hassle with mbnet declines, free postage to forward2me and no need for personal shopping)

Managed to grab two 16GB Nexus 5 (BLK) directly from the German Play Store, through a work colleague based in Germany and should have 'em with me sometime during next week. :victory: :fingers-crossed:

Really ?! Because I've called FNAC today after reading your post and they had no idea what the heck I was talking about. And based in a past experience, ordering from Carphone Warehouse (even to a UK forwarding address) was actually a PITA.

The answer given by FNAC's representative wasn't, well... Too convincing. But yeah... Let's see what happens next week and, above all, how much they will ask for it.
I've ordered a black 32Gb one from the UK play store... Well, not me, but a friend of mine who's working in London.. He will then send it to me through Royal mail. I hope to have it by the 11th or 12th of November..!
Cant wait!

I'm a litle afraid of Fanc's prices since last year they sold Nexus 4 @ 600€ but things may be diferent if LG make it official. I hope so since they seem to be trying hard to push their image and get their space in the smartphone's market with G2. A Nexus device is always a good way to increase that recognition.
I almost bought N5 this weekend but I believe is better to chill a bit and wait, I really have no hurge so I'll wait to see how the things evolve and how will be the availability here in Portugal. But that price from carphone is very tempting

Nope, you got the same problem. LG wanted to charge 600 for the N4. They'll probably do the same for the N5. So, even if it's an official release, we'll have it for 600€ over at FNAC.

Problem is, it isn't that easy to get CPW to send you anything to Portugal, even through a UK forwarding address. Firstly, because you need a credit or debit card associated to an UK billing address (I don't think you can do that with MBNet) and secondly, you need a real UK mobile phone number, something that services like Forward2me do not provide.
And I highly doubt FNAC Portugal will have the Nexus 5 in the coming week as a representative stated at FNAC's facebook page. Right now, the availability of the Nexus 5 in B&M stores isn't a reality with CPW being one of the very few exceptions so it's highly unlikely they'll have it in stock this week. But let's see what happens.
Lg has several country wide launches scheduled for this week, so I don't thing that's so unlikely

Hi everyone.
If I buy a Nexus 5 in the UK to use in Portugal (I have a friend in London that can buy it) will all radios work correctly in Portugal? I know GSM is the same in all Europe but what about 3G LTE. Can anyone confirm or tell me how I can check it?
