hello guys , as many fellows do, i tried to root my galaxy note and then after rooting on STOCK ICS, i did a data wipe/factory reset
then the phone was frozen, after i reboot, the phone shows "Samsung Galaxy Note GT-7000" and nothing after that,
i could go to download mode but not recovery mode,
after trying and trying and trying, i thought it was over, i sent it to Samsung, but they asked me to pay about 300$ to replace motherboard,
after days and days and days of searching, i found the solution
here how it goes:
1)download bit files (attached)
2)download GB stock rom (search for it)
3)download odin (attached)
reboot the phone into download mode (vol down + bower + home) buttons, connect it to PC,
flash the rom along with a bit file using odin,
but you should use a specific bit file, try one by one, from down up, (mine worked for factoryfs files)
this will restore your bricked MMC, not totally but at least ignore the corrupted sectors and use the good ones
people are going to say what about that huge number of files, would i afford trying it all ?
i say yes, just try to flash ROM with pit file, if it stucks at the factoryfs for more than 1 minute, then use the next pit file, and one by one,
those files restore mmc within specific range of sectors , so you should try them all until you find your right one,
GOOD LUCK ALL

Waste of space.. This its well known and has its own thread in general section... And it's not a fix.. It's a partial solution you will still have a burned chip... This thread its pointless and misleading... Reported
Besides you gotta be really "slow" to spend days and days and days "searching" for a solution when the pit file method to partially recover a note its always in the top 10 threads in general section..
Tapatalking on my n7000
Hahahaha its not the super brick its the sodt brick i have landed in such situation thrice and to mention no pit file is required in this case. Only the stock rom and odin solves the problem. Thread already present.
U didnt need months to search this this only an open eye browsing in the xda forum )). Btw i am happy ur phone is working again.

Hi there.
I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy Note since I wanted to make it rootable.
When I bought it, I could use any simcard inside, so it is "unlocked".
Yesterday, I wanted to use my phone to root it but some files can't be downloaded via WWW.MULTIUPLOAD.COM (i guess it is because of what happened to MEGAUPLOAD).
So, one of my first questions is : is USB DEBUGGING activated when using the Galaxy note for the first time or not at all? (I didn't activate it when using my Galaxy Note before flashing it)
Second, I have used Odin to flash a file (PDA slot), the file was hard to find but google could help (i'm just meaning that some links here seem to be "broken" on multiupload). The flash was fine and the phone boot back... to a yellow triangle.
No way to change it.
No backup from the rom, but I remember it is a KKA.
I 've looked in that thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350960) to find everything that could help me, but the file is no more on multiupload
I tried via that thread, too :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1370156 , but the problem remains
Third, I don't have any jug usb to use and no CMW installed nor loaded.
Could a kernel help to solve the problem about the yellow triangle, using ODIN, or not? Or is it better to use a fully functionnal rom, as a KKA?
Any help/comment would be much appreciated
N.B : sorry for my english that can be "poor" sometimes :s
Can you exactly give the file name, which you have used to flash PDA section? and size of it

1. It doesn't matter while flashing using PC Odin.
2. Are you sure about which ROM you flashed ( Suspecting you have flashed Custom ROM)
3. Their is way to remove Triangle (!) , you should use JIG
follow the link for more details.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354888
Thanks for your quick replies
So, I wanted to flash that, using ODIN:
Recovery ClockworkMod Odin flashable.Tar
But on XDA, the link about it is in fact Superuser-3.0.6-efgh-signed.zip.
Did I miss something??
The file I could find using google was about 8Mo and the flash was quite fast.
(I used it for the PDA part)
I also referred to that thread :

When No Any other method works to Root your device, use this
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note that, this will downgrade your ROM to KJ1, after that you can update it.
Download: http://www.multiupload.com/YB9EL8D8O3
- Make sure your SGN is NOT connected to your computer
- Reboot your SGN into "download mode" (Vol down + Home + Power))
- Start ODIN
- Click the PDA button, and select the "SGN_XX_OXA_KJ1_FACTORYFS.tar" file
- Connect the SGN to your computer
- Make sure "repartition" is NOT checked
- Click the START button
- Wait for the phone to reboot TWICE
- Done.
Now you have your device Rooted, Install Mobile Odin Pro n update your device to any new ROM with Mobile Odin

using the file for KKA, but then, next flashing, the yellow triangle...
I'm working right now but I can repost here in a few hours the exact name of the file I have found using google that I could not find over here.
Anyway, do you think I can "repair" it without any JIG USB?
And yes, it was on a custom rom (the phone is just new, only a few hours in my hands ) but it's not my first one (i could flash a HD2 and the Samsung Tablet with no problems...

This thing you did wrong, I have made lot effort to update Rooting guide here, still somebody How can find this guide i dont know.
Basically you have flashed with Netchip method, which was very first appeared, but later netchip also said, to not to use, b'coz it causing raise Flash counter
as well yellow triangle.
Now onwards remember, NEVER use PC ODIN to Flash Any Custome ROM/Kernel.
I am updating link here soon, how to reset your counter. You requires JIG for that
Edit : here is guide how to reset binaru count, n remove yellow triangle
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354888
-------------------
BTW till you get JIG, just go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 and download and flash ROM using PC odin(here it is stock ROM u can use it safely). you will get your phone working. later you can reset counter with JIG
Download my guide from here, how to update ROM, you can use Updating ROM with PC Odin section from guide.
Many thanks again, dr.ketan for such reply so fast
Hmmmm then I will have to wait for a JIG. I will order a JIG, it seems the price is not so expensive.
Thanks again for your comments and help, much appreciated

My 2 cents about that question, but if I have a message saying that there is an error while turning on the phone now :
Firmware upgrade encoutered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
The problem is, when using Kies (for Windows), it is looking for the Galaxy Note, and, even if it is connected via USB, nothing happens, it's looking long, long, long, time, then, it says that it can not find it.
So, is a JIG still required?

See, JIG is required for totally different reason.
Your issue regarding, not connecting kies / Booting phone, won't be solved by JIG.
Jig can b use in two condition. One when you are unable to enter in download mode. I think, you dont have this issue
another To reset counter, for which you require JIG in your case.
Error you are facing right now during booting of device, can be solved by Reflashing ROM. You can flash any stock ROM with PC Odin, shud be enough to solve it.
Now regarding use of JIG, just enter in download mode, check Lt upper corner of devoce, it will have number of flash you have performed, i think in your case it must be 1 or more. which in normal case should be zero. Only To reset that counter, you needs Jig.
Thanks again.
Well, I download another stock rom but I got a "fail" (red color) above "id:com", when flashing on ODIN.
I am using Windows7 and tested the compatibility mode, the problem remains.
I have .md5 file that I put on PDA part. Then I click on Start but nothing, except the "fail" message.
When turning off the phone and on, I got the other message, said in my previous post :
"Firmware upgrade encoutered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
So, Am I missing something.
About the download mode, the number is 7 in fact.
Oh I remember the file I wanted to flash via ODIN : netchip-cwm-update2.tar
It seemed to work just because the phone turned off and I got a "green" message that said that it was ok. (PASS).
I read one of your thread, when nothing works, so that man should go here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18981227&postcount=4
but the file (link) is not working now, so I can not get the file to test :s
But since then, I can not boot on Android anymore...
Yes unfortunately link is down since 2 days
Ya thats i guessed when i read you have used superuser zip, i have said earlier in 1 msg, you have used netchip.
Anyway, once go to recovery (vol up +home+power)n wipe data, clear cache, clear dwlvic caxhe.
Then put phone in download mode. Close firewall/antivirus on pc, open odin, connect device with download mode(vol down+home+power), if id com glow yellow, thn proceed with start
Gudluck

The main problem is that, too.
I can not enter Recovery, I got the yellow triangle.
I can only go in download mode, and when turning off and on the phone, the message said above :s
is JIG the only way to solve all that?
is my phone "blocked"? I am trying to test another stock rom, I'll give it a try and let you guess what happens.
EDIT 22:37:
The flash with that rom (N7000XXLA4_N7000DREKL1_DRE) has failed, even if it is a stock one.
Can I try to use any other rom from another country? Before I tried to flash the rom, I saw it was a KKA. Can I try so with a LA3 or something else, still stock one?
Oh man, that's so bad....
I think I found the problem...
I am using Windows7 64 bits.
My wife is on WindowsXP and I am using Odin on her netbook, and it's quite better !
the flashing is going on.
Hey !!!! that's all good !!!!! ^^'
My Galaxy Notes is working again ^'^'
Maybe should it be mentionned to be careful when using Windows7 64 bits, if some other members would have the same problem when flashing their roms?
Congrates !
ya it is common problem(win7), many time it has been discussed , but it is not that everytime it not works, but it happens in few cases.
When reading your answer yesterday, I thought I might had a chance to make my Galaxy Note working again without JIG.
Now I've downloaded Samsung drivers, for Windows7 64 bits, and I can flash with no problem. I'm backing up and can use CWM
Thanks again for your help and answers
I had the same problem, but then I decided to use the ORIGINAL usb cable and see: it did the trick !!!. Even on Windows 10 64bit !.
This WAS the situation before the problems:
Rooted Gingerbread rom, all working fine. Decided to unroot and install the full version of the official German ICS rom by using PC Odin. All went fine and used my Note for over two days. Because of the lags en slow responses I decided to reflash the ICS rom. From that moment on I messed it up. I've been reading and searching hundreds of posts for almost a day but didn't find a solution.
This IS the current situation:
I can get into download mode
I can get in recovery mode
However, in recovery mode I can not install a rom, every flash (CWM, both ICS and GB - even using chainfire's rom needed for rooting) stops on a random moment...but never gets it to the end, even if I wait several hours. Installing is very...very....very slow.
In recovery mode i can not restore a Nandroid backup, both ICS and GB. Every backup stops when /system has te be installed. errormessage.
In download mode I can connect my Note to PC Odin. I can select a rom and start flashing. However, after appr. 80% installation halts during "nand write start", no error message. The flashing does not finish, even after hours.
Funny is, i can install a kernel like Abyss.
So, I can't restore, i can't flash using cwm in recovery and I can't flash using PC Odin. My device seems not fully bricked. The max I get when rebooting (knowing that the process has not finished) is the triangle screen.
Any advise is appreciated.
Do not flash thru CWM... Flash a good GB kernel like "franco.Kernel" but thru PC Odin then u can flash whatever u want from franco's CWM... Good luck
Don't need help anymore
Note is officially bricked. After several attempts to recover from a softbrick the screen of my Note didn't turn on anymore. No button or button combination works, no recovery and no download mode, just a black screen.

Flat battery? It's also possible that it's just the screen that's not working. Try entering download mode "blind". So hold power+home+vol down for ~10 seconds, then press vol up. Hook it up via usb and see if Odin can recognize it.
Thanks, didn't think of that. But unfortunately no response from the device.
So now that it looks like your phone is officially bricked, I think you should just take it to Samsung and make up a story. Like you were updating your software with Kies and something happened and the phone is just not booting up.
I am sorry you bricked your note though..
try AMORA Filemanager.. flash via recovery and you have a file manager,,, take a look on your partitions
just my idea, you got nothing to lose

Maybe it's just the battery, try to charge it externally and try a JIG also

Just a quick, final, update.
My Note was superbricked. Had to send it to a Samsung Service Center. No additional questions were asked. Samsung replaced the mainboard. Didn't have to pay anything.
Great service!!!
try this out buddy, do it on your own risk!!! anyways you have messed it up.

i was not a member when i commited this mistake. but then big thanks to this community it helped me back from softbrick.
first you do is install a stock kernel of ics on your note go into recovery and just clear cache partition, thats it no wipe/data factory reset.
then,
install the pit file from this thread, also read it completely before proceeding. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1667886 , hoping yours is 16gb version and also read this thread for additional info but its quite complicated for me so im just telling you the direct method and hopefully itll get your note back to work. so once you download the 16gb pit file unzip it and in the unzip folder you will find a separately lying pit of 16gb stating patched-standard thats the one you want.
then,
goto samfirmware and download the latest ics firmware(i downloaded the indian one as it is in file .tar),
unzip it till you get .tar file.
open odin- click pit-select 16gb patched standard pit- check wether repartion is ticked- click pda-select the .tar file you extracted connect your phone and start. this time i wont stop at factory.fs.....
NOTE THAT AFTER THIS PROCEDURE IS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE WOULD BE ONLY 8GB INSTEAD OF 11 GB STOCK WHICH YOU WERE GETTING.
I REVIVED MY NOTE THROUGH THIS PROCEDURE. PROCEES AT YOUR OWN RISK.
one your phone is working you'll be able to reset the counter with a jig and get your phone under warranty and get your motherboard changed by teliing at the Samsung Service that you are getting only 8gb instead of 11gb you used to get earlier(warranty only if you had any).
hope this helps mate.
BEST OF LUCK!!
A BIG HUGE THANKS TO hg42.....
Dear Super brick user
First I would like to Thank HG 42 for his Support on super Brick
1. I followed the Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3597010
and http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3597010
I downloaded 4pda_kernal.tar This helps in getting CWM
I downloaded Pits.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3597010
in download mode I connected my mobile to my laptop and with ODIN 1.85V I selected c:\Downloads\pit\Q1_20110914_16GB-patched.pit as my PIT file
and for PDA file I selected \N7000XXLPY_N7000OXALPY_N7000XXLPT_HOME.tar.md5
which I downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
then press Start button.
Miracle went (I did not even format after partition) I hope it is included in the PIT file. HG42 has to clarify it
Then it went to reboot and was stuck at Samsung logo
I even got on message saying Samsung Encryption fail error and asked to reboot
when I pressed OK it rebooted and was Stuck at Glowing Samsung.
I once again reboot with pressing Power button.
this time it went through all the setting and it is done.
Now I have lost only 8GB with the process
I hope down the time there will be a guide to even remove the bad sectors or blocks.
If it fails in this PIT file try with other PIT files that HG 42 has provided.
Thats It.
Great
Once again I thank HG42 for all his hard work and support.

I'm guessing super brick is some sort of corrupted file system, which will not allow the phone to boot, or allow you to flash anything to it. All the while still having access to download mode - a teaser so to speak.
Hardbrick is eMMC damage = paperweight.

Even though i had lost 5Gb in the process! A week ago i was able to revive my Note to it's full potencial!
But losing 5Gb in 11.2Gb that you can use it's a lot to me because about a week ago i had my SGS2 and i used it to make calls.. and i was using my Note just as a multimedia player and internet browser mostly and no calls or sms because it was SIMless!
Anyway what i agreed with my GF is that i would take my Note to samsung to see if they could replace the motherboard for free since i have warranty for my phone and yes.. in a week i'll have my Phone back with a new motherboard completly for free!
My advice:
If you have warranty, get rid of the binary counter with the jig following this tutorial:
[REF] How to remove yellow triangle on any firmware with JIG
And flash a stock kernel from:
[KERNEL] Stock Kernel for N7000
I've done this and it was accepted as having warranty on Samsung Services

Did you super brick your note after doing a full wipe?
I think the same thing has happened to me .. i can flash rom and all but no matter how many roms i try flashing i am stuck at the samsung logo!
You lost 8 gb.. does it mean you have only 3GB left??
can I ask....how are you able to determine how much space/storage you lost? Just curious.....
After re-boot, I checked in Setting> Storage
it shows now as Internal Memory 2GB, USB Storage as 8.24GB and SD Card as 25.89 GB (I dont know how even I have lost another 4 GB in SD Card also). Even After formating SD Card it formats only to 25.89 GB instead of 32 GB or 29.4 GB.
How to do this when the phone doe not boot at all, not even download mode.
You can't unfortunately.
I try to understand if this is the solution to this:

It looks like you have a case of super-brick with some faulty partition.
If you can get help from SS service you should go there. Otherwise, The re-partition guide below can help, although you will loose some storage space. Use custom PIT file method or manual.

Hope it helps,
Thanks! about to take it from the store where they told me they cannot fix it, and try for myself!
crossing fingers..
I can't thank you enough!!
3 weeks spent at the store, and now, 15 minutes of work and it back to life!!!
Thanks a lot!!!!

Edit: Sorry, but after doing battery-out for a while (tried it earlier, but was apparently too stressed), it came back into download mode. So it's not completely dead, and I will try to see if I can get it working again. Sorry for wasting your time and XDAs space!
So, after 2 years of excellent service I replaced my trusty old i9000 with a brand spankin' new i9300. When doing a thorough reset of my phone prior to selling it, it now has died completely on me. Let's walk through this:
-First off, I went into CWM and did all the wipes and formatted internal SD-card. (Was running AOKP 4.0.4.)
-Secondly, put phone into Download mode and used Heimdall on a Mac to repartition and insert completely stock rom. Followed instructions I found here on how to flash using Heimdall, and downloaded a package named I9000XXJVU which I extracted and did everything according to the specifications. Downloaded a 512.pit-file and used as well.
-Thirdly, and lastly, I tried to flash.
This is what Heimdall said:
Uploading PIT
ERROR: Failed to confirm end of PIT file transfer!
PIT upload failed!
Ending session...
Rebooting device...
Now, the device is COMPLETELY dead. No Download mode, no nothing. So, what the hell did I manage to f**k up now, and how do I solve it? I had only used Odin in Windows before, and has never had a problem like this.

I think u f..... up the bootloader and that's bad.but try USB-jig u can buy it on ebay and are guides on utube how to use it,if the jig works u can get into download mode then it's easy recoverable.
Try pull out battery and leave it out for 30 min,If u are really lucky u can boot into download mode
Let's see, I've rooted my phone a few days ago and set a partition to link2sd, everything was ok, i've tryed to use a swap partition as well that didn't work, but phone still ran well. Reading the tutorial discussion further i've noticed that it was rather old and swap partitions were unnecessary with Android 4 and up, I've turned off my phone in order to remove my sd card and format it again but prior to removing battery i've noticed that the screen flashed and a bunch of scrambled pixels appeared, since this happened every time i turn my phone on only a bunch of static square patterns are shown.
By pressing volume down+home+power i can acess a screen to download Other OS, it's the only thing that seems to work. i can't acess CWM recovery or anything.
Is the mini dead or there's a solution? Anything with Odin or the MIni Toolkit? Couldn't find anything helpful through search.
Flash stock via odin..

download stock rom or cm 10.2 odin package , and flash it via odin..
i flashed wrong modem some days ago and soft bricked my device, i used CM 10.2 odin package to recover..
I've tryed both maclaw's and the official stock for my i8190L but both give me the same 'No Pit Partition' error. I've been searcing all over XDA and the web and no one seems to have a solution for this or the pit file for the L model, only for the other models.. looks like i'm screwed.
The procedure on Odin is simply adding the firmware .md5 file to the PDA section, plug the phone in 'download mode' and hit start, right? I'm new to samsung flashing, sorry for the noobish question.
As long as you can boot to 'download mode' it isn't hardbricked. Have tou tried to flash again some recovery with odin? If Odin doesn't help you can always try using Kies to get device to completely stock state. All you have to do is boot device to download mode, connect via usb to PC and open Kies. There is option to "reset&update to latest firmware" or sth like that. That has saved many sammy devices in tricky situtations, even tho Kies as software sucks

Just wanted to answer your question about flashing with Odin; that is correct way to do it.

Thanks for the answers, guys. Can't do new tests now but I'll try as soon as I get back from holidays. Any attempts to flash through Odin only gives me the same pit partition error, and kies also seemed equally unfruitful. Looks like my options are getting short.
