Having a really weird problem with my OD. When the phone first starts up, it works fine. As soon as the screen turns off, the touchscreen stops responding to input. The phone still works, as I can do a long-press on the power button, and used the arrows on the physical keyboard to reboot the thing. Everything (acceleromater, all buttons, hardware keyboard, etc) work as expected, just not the touchscreen, and the buttons on the bottom of the touchscreen (back, menu, home, and search). As soon as the phone is rebooted, the screen responds to touch, until the screen shuts off (either through timeout or pressing the power button).
I was running CM7 when the problem started, and since then I'v tried Liquid Gingerbread, and using the SDB to put it back to stock. The problem still continues.
Any ideas?
Had this the other day...rendered my phone inoperable.
Basically the lock widget disappeared which was weird. Locked it and went to unlock and nothing happens.
I could press the lock button as much as I want - all I get it a black screen.
If I press camera it will open the camera in locked mode. Could take pictures but nothing else! Pressing lock again did nothing
Its almost the equivalent of explorer.exe crashing I suppose.
Fixed it in the end (luckily) by finding that holding the lock/power button and volume down for 10 seconds reset the phone to recovery mode.
Weird thing was I could receive calls still! Android crash perhaps? Hope jelly bean comes soon
Sometimes my phone reboots while I have it in my pocket because I accidentally press the power button for a few seconds and then somehow touch the screen so it reboots.
This happens while the screen is locked! It's still possible to press the power button a few seconds and shutdown/reboot/airplane mode/disable data.
Anyway to disable this feature?
I've found a few other threads, with this one the most promising: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302169. However, I changed the four *.kl files, but no luck.
Have you tried with a custom lockscreen or pin on screen? Maybe it helps instead of digging in the phone system...
Hey all.
I'm start facing this weird behavior today.
I am using the NUT .757 software, clean install, it was okay but since today my power button doesn't respond anymore. When i press the Volume up, the power menu comes out. Sometimes the Power button act well, but is just for few time.
Any ideas?
Ps: I was in a pool taking pictures. The phone was totally closed, no water inside, but since then it start to act weird. Actually, sometimes the scren wont turn off, and if i press to turn off the phone, it reboots itself.
A minute amount of water probably entered my N7000 when i got stuck in the rains, realizing that i switched it off and removed the battery. After a while i switched on the phone but it got stuck on the lock screen. after trying to dry the phone off for 2 days, i tried again but the phone would still get stuck on the lock screen. So i installed a stock ROM through ODIN. Now the phone is stuck on the samsung welcome screen with the "Choose Language" option. There is no response on touching the screen but there is haptic feedback on touching the menu and back keys. On pressing the power button, the phone goes into standy by once, but the second time pressing the power button has no effect. Any advice on what could be the problem and how could i rectify it? Is it a motherboard problem or could it be a problem with the touch screen?
