A minute amount of water probably entered my N7000 when i got stuck in the rains, realizing that i switched it off and removed the battery. After a while i switched on the phone but it got stuck on the lock screen. after trying to dry the phone off for 2 days, i tried again but the phone would still get stuck on the lock screen. So i installed a stock ROM through ODIN. Now the phone is stuck on the samsung welcome screen with the "Choose Language" option. There is no response on touching the screen but there is haptic feedback on touching the menu and back keys. On pressing the power button, the phone goes into standy by once, but the second time pressing the power button has no effect. Any advice on what could be the problem and how could i rectify it? Is it a motherboard problem or could it be a problem with the touch screen?

so all of a sudden my cdma heros touch screen got messed up. I tried restarting the phone and where it used to say android at the boot screen is just a blank screen now. It does restart but i am stuck at my lock screen. If i touch my screen at all it freezes up. I cant even click one dot on the lock screen. I can receive calls but the screens blank and my hard buttons work. Also i cant go into recovery and i tried wiping my storage by holding the home button and back key but when i go through with it, it does not hard reset and all of my settings are still their an i get stuck at lockscreen after restart. can anyone please help me out?
I did a factory reset from the settings menu and and while it was reseting it randomly turned off. I thought that means it was done and I needed to start it back up. After I tried to press the power button I get no response. A complete black screen and not even the M logo. I tried charging it overnight and it still has a black screen. Any help please?
Edit: Apprently it works now right after posting on XDA...
Hello all,
I got this phone about a month and a half ago, and since I got it I've noticed a lot of freezing and crashing (more so after the 5.1 update).
Some examples:
-I try unlocking the phone from active display and the screen goes black. The only way to get out of it is to hold the power button to restart.
-Sometimes the phone freezes on the lock screen randomly, and when I pick up the phone to look at it, the time is wrong and I can't physically unlock the phone, only turn the screen on and off, leading to me having to hold the power button down to shut off and restart.
-When on some apps, like twitter for example, the phone freezes, and I cannot do anything except turn off the screen by pressing the power button. When I try waking the phone, it stays black or sometimes theres a flash of the screen I was on before, and then it goes black again. Only thing I can do here is hold the power button down until "Power Off" shows up on the screen, and I press that to shut the phone off.
Today I cleared the cache, and since then the phone has froze once, causing me to do a hard reset. What should I try next? Any idea what the problem could be?
Thank you for the help.
I have pretty much the exact same thing going on. It started last night... I first noticed I had some charging issues where the phone wasn't charging very quickly after the battery died (after a day of heavy use). I let it sit for awhile, then it booted up, and it showed the motorola splash screen. It gets all the way to the lock screen, although I'm unable to unlock the phone. The screen goes dark. It appears to still be getting texts and the like- although this screen blackness issue makes it so I can't unlock the phone. The one thing I can do is hold down the power button and turn it off. I've tried loading fastboot and doing a factory reset, although nothing appears to happen and it boots the same way. The other thing about it is that it appears to be running hot- way hot. Any ideas? I'm running stock rom, Verizon network, just updated to 5.1 when it came out last week.
It boots up but nothing on the screen since I got it yesterday. Shows nothing when I plug in charger with phone off and doesn't show samsung logo whole booting up. Screen is completely black. The notification led, recent apps, and back button do light up and I am able to tap the screen and have it register but the screen just doesn't display anything.
Tried booting into fastboot and nothing, tried booting into download mode and nothing, tried removing battery and holding power for over a minute and nothing.
Help me before I have to return it. I g out. It for 380$ new from a recent cowboom.com deal and they're out of stock so they with be able to replace it.
One thing i did notice is that, even though it boots up and I can hear the water drop sound when pressing the back button, as soon as I hit the power button again, it reboots.
Maybe a fresh os install will help?
Return and get refund or send it to samsung repair center.
Looks like a digitizer problem.
I wouldn't send it to Samsung. I sent mine in and was returned in worst condition.
FML.... Here goes some background story (lazy to read? skip to next paragraph). One day found my Nokia 7 plus bent a bit (top right corer) it was working perfectly fine, but my OCD made me "fix it"... After bending phone the other way, to straighten it - Power button stuck (pushed in). Phone got into constant restart loop, and eventually ended up in download mode. Since I couldn't do anything - left it as is until battery died. After gathering all the tools, I've dissembled my phone, fixed stuck power button, charged battery, turned it on - I found out that I cracked the screen.... Bought new screen and replaced it.
Now when I turn on my phone (in fact it turns on automatically, after power off it will turn on again after few seconds), it vibrates and goes to WSOD (white screen of death)
I can't enter recovery mode
I've tried workaround as per this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-7-plus/help/device-stuck-download-mode-t3934323
fastboot devices - returns my phone, however adb devices - does not.
Any ideas how I can get back to life?
