I can't text myself with Google Voice, and I've had several people ask me if I got their text that never went through. I can send just fine, but I don't seem to be receiving them. Is there any troubleshooting for this?
Edit: My calls also seem to be going straight to voicemail. I can make calls, though.
Get a new sim card. Happened on my TBOLT. They will NEVER figure out your problem. Just take it to Verizon and say my SIM card isnt working, I cant send/receive texts.
I can send them and make calls, though. I've also noticed that when I leave a voicemail though Google Voice I never get it.
Yup. Need a new SIM. You could also try reseating it. Its the SIM, trust me.

God damn it.
They are free, just ask for a new one. I went weeks on my TBOLT before they figured out the problem.. trust me it sucks..
Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully the folks at Verizon will be happy to hand it out. Should I unroot before taking it in?
i just started having the same issue as the OP....but it only does it to me while at my parents house in rural northwest oklahoma where i have to rely on roaming. Every other verizon phone i've had up there has been able to roam without problems, but this bionic cannot keep a steady 1x data connection up there and keeps giving me a popup message stating that i am data roaming and no longer in the USA and have to accept something o data roam outside the US...the second i drove back near a verizon tower bam i was hit with 22 text messages i had been missing throughout the day...i'm hoping this is something they are working on...

Not sure that matters. Did you try to reseat your sim?
4G SIM
If I already have an extra 4G SIM card, can I install it and activate without going to a shop? How can I do this?
Thanks

That I am not sure about.
Did any of you dial *228 when you got your phone? If so that will destroy your sim and can cause things like you are seeing now. Thats NOT what you do on these phones to update tower info.
Took it to Verizon, replaced the SIM, and it still didn't work. The Verizon people had to call their own support, and they couldn't fix it, so now they filed a support ticket to the upper level people to resolve it on their end. **** everything about this.

I thought everyone was ignoring me for the last two days, so at least I know it wasn't my fault. Hopefully Verizon's super support can fix things up.

They did bend over backwards for me when I had my problem. Maybe exchange the phone?
have you tried sending yourself a text (from a computer) at text.vzw.com?

I've tried texting myself from Google Voice and having other people I know text me along with the Verizon support people. At this point, I believe that I can only receive texts from Verizon numbers, but I cannot receive calls from them.

Where is your number coming from? T-Mobile or did you port it to Google Voice before coming to VZW?

My number came from T-Mo, but the problem seems to be resolved now. Just had a text convo with my friend on T-Mo, and I could call and text myself from Google.

Okay, glad to hear your issue resolved itself.
I've seen alot of issues with porting numbers back from Google Voice which is why I asked when I saw it mentioned.
Well, I just bought the HTC One M8 Harman Kardon edition to replace my Evo 4g LTE, and overall it's not a bad phone. Like the audio and speed of the phone.
However... It doesn't work very well as a phone. If I go into an area where signal is sketchy, I will get the above error (Loss of Data, LTE: EMM-65535). Okay, I understand I am in a low signal area.
BUT... When I get back into signal, the phone has lost it's provisioning. I have to do the whole ##72786# routine to get the phone to take/make calls, accept texts, etc etc.
First Sprint says it's a provisioning issue. Then they tell me its a hardware issue. The local service center tells me they have seen numerous phones come in with this, and they replace them, and it still does the same thing. The tech said it is an issue with the network not handling the new Spark network, and to put the phone into CDMA mode for a week to see if it clears up or not.
My phone is stock right now (Still, S-ON and locked).
Software 1.54.654.13
PRL 51100
HBOOT 3.16
Radio 1.05.20.0321_2
I've tried restricting the phone to Home Only, putting it into CDMA mode, and it still does it. I'm about ready to reactive my Evo just so I have a damn phone to use.
I just returned mine for these very issues. Many complaints in the Sprint Community forums.
For me, 9 out of 10 phone calls in or out fail, if you get lucky and make a call you might get 20 seconds in before it's disconnected. Virtually zero data. This was at my house, and different places around my area of town. I really liked the phone itself though.

Sprint believes the phone is defective. I don't think it is. As long as I am on my home cell, it's fine. I leave the area, and pwoof!
The phone shipped in LTE/CDMA mode.. Sprint advised me to try it in Auto and see what happens. They also pushed a network ticket to see if there is anything wrong there.
I had the same issue, brought it in the store and they swapped it, said it was the SIM card reader. I've had my replacement for over two weeks now and no issues.

After putting the phone into "Auto" mode, it seems to be working fine so far. I'm trying to get it to choke so I can further troubleshoot this issue. If not, I am going to drop by the Sprint store where I bought the phone and see if they have had any reports of this.
I had the EXACT same issue with my M8. Sprint replaced it with a brand new one and it's been absolutely perfect.

Going to drop by a Sprint store on the way home and see what they say...
I also had these issues with my first M8 the second day I had it returned it and it has worked perfectly now for about 2 months now I would say it is a defective phone

Well I went to the Sprint store, and they replaced the phone without question. Something that I thought funny... My "old" phone came out of the box with 1.54.654.13 on it. The "new" one came with 1.54.654.9 on it. I asked the tech in the store, and she said the "new" phone just came in on a shipment today. That doesn't really mean anything, though...
Out of the box, it had the LTE error again, but this time it added a EHPRD: 33 below it.
The tech in the store said that all of Sprint's Spark phones are having this issue, not just the HTC.
I will wait and see what happens. The phone has the same signal characteristics as the "old" phone.
Having the same issues as everyone above. Visited a Sprint repair store several times. I had the device about a month without any issues, then suddenly calls dropped, data wouldn't work, texts wouldn't send, yada yada. Factory reset, RUU, all the dial codes, nothing helped. The Sprint reps first seemed like this was an oddity, then admitted they've had numerous complaints nationally with the device and the network. They claim it's a network issue, only to be resolved by the Spark upgrades.
It's been about 3 weeks since I've been able to use the device as a phone. Not sure what to do as I don't trust Sprint and their ETAs (they claim network improvements "finished sometime in June" in my area will resolve it).
1.54.654.13 the problem?

Had the same problems with my phone. I activated and updated to the latest OTA update (presumably 654.13). It was working, then it started dropping calls, no data, and the LTE error message. I took it to the store and they told me it's an HTC software issue, I'd have to just wait for an update. Not satisified after a week of not being able to use my new $600 phone, I decided to call and get an exchange. After some wrangling, they finally sent me a new one.
The new phone is on update 1.54.654.9, but it wants to update to 1.54.654.13. I shut off the auto download and decided NOT to apply it. So far so good. I can make and receive calls again, data and texting work great too.
My thinking is, 1.54.654.13 has the bug. With only the 1 phone, I'm not going to try it for now.

I believe the .9 RUU is available.
I have a Motorola droid 4 & I'm switching over to Verizon on Monday. (I currently have a Samsung Galaxy note 4 with at&t). I rooted my Motorola & put cm12 on it, but idk if it'll still work with Verizon service then. I couldn't find any answers on here or the Verizon website. Basically, can I keep my phone on cm12 or would I have to switch it back to the stock ROM to use it on Verizon's network? This is the first phone I've ever rooted that I actually plan on using as a phone. Thanks for any help anyone can give me
If you plan on using it as a 4G/LTE device, then yes, it should be fine. Your customer information is stored on the SIM card, at the worst you'll have to go into Mobile Network Settings and change them to appropriate values (CDMA+LTE/EVDO and RUIM/SIM subscription type, I think, someone else will have to confirm).
If you wanted to use it as a 3G device...I'm not even sure Verizon themselves used to allow that (MVNOs did, but Verizon put a stop to that at the beginning of the year), and they certainly won't these days.
There're lots of people around using their phones on Verizon "as intended", and it seems that after the APN problems were ironed out, there've been very few complaints.
TL;DR: yes, should be plug&play, you may have to change some easily-changed settings.

Okay, thanks so much for your help
Does the native android visual voicemail work on Verizon for anyone? I searched and only found old threads, not much recent.
It works fine on my 6P but I'm not having luck with my wife's Nexus 6. I did call Verizon to have them make sure basic vvm was activated.
I wiped phone cache/data ,after the wipe it gives the same prompt and EULA and kicks back a 9009 code. I'll try some more tomorrow.
I'm sure the what ever needs to be activated on Verizon's end is because if I swap sims voicemail will show in the dialer my 6p. Anyone know if the Nexus 6 is a compatible device so I don't continue trying for no reason. Verizon's support was of little help.
Currently both phones are running Pure Nexus.
Thanks!
I have it and it cost 2.99 a month. You can add it through the website.

Verizon VVM has worked on every ROM I've flashed
I have made many efforts for 2 months. I was a Verizon Customer, left for MINT mobile9(tmobile system). I Have contacted Verizon, Mint 30+ times everyone passes the buck. So I can receive MMS from Verizon customers only but not SMS. Everyone and everything else seems to be fine. I went through the Odin and uploaded a new rom but it didnt' solve my issue. Last note I have an old Iphone and I put the MINT sim card in and I can receive SMS from verizon customers although I'm not quite sure if that was just imessage come to think of it. Anyways my next option if I can't fix this is to move to a Verizon network and pay more.
