Sony Nexus Phone Spotted in benchmark with Android 5.0? - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

http://mobilesyrup.com/2012/11/19/android-5-0-key-lime-pie-purportedly-spotted-in-benchmark-result/
Before I get too far ahead of myself, the model of the phone is LT30i. The LT30 model as you may know is the Xperia T.

Many people would be delighted if the news of future Xperia Nexus is really true.
But I am personally not holding my breath just yet.

Adreno 220? I thought the LT30's feature the 225 version. Whatever, blah, would be nice if similar to how the S got AOSP the T would get 5.0 AOSP or so.

You do know it is extremely easy to mod a build.prop to show a different Android version don't you? Plus, the CPU governor is probably PegasusQ (which only exists in custom kernels or Samsung kernels), so it's absolutely not real.

I agree with you except for the governor. I dont see any correlation brtween the stated and PegasusQ.

I moved back to 4.0.3

After trying many Roms...i decided moving back to 4.0.3
Now my phone works well ,Super fast ,and very very Smooth. It seems that JB "4.1.2" is making Lg 4x HD very slow... cyanogenmod too...
Im running ics "4.0.3 v10B"
I was thinking 4.1.2 will be better

I had a few phones with Android.
I saw that the pre-installed system is almost always better than update.

that's because they had all the time they have to develop a better ROM before the official launch. But once after launch whiners and babies will cry for updates so they had to rush a bit more, which sacrificed optimisation time.
Good ROM takes time. If CyanogenMod didn't have nightlies or RC - just stable releases, god it could be ages before anything from them sees light.

Mm, probably not, but why is it shocking to you all that 4.0.3 is faster? :s The lower the android version, the less resources it needs because it has less features, less processes, looks worse, lower demand for high quality rendering etc etc.
Think about it, would running 4.3 be as fast as running 2.3.x on it?
In my eyes, the lower the android version, the "Faster" it will appear.. Also, post some benchmarks of v10, and we can compare them to a benchmark of 4.3?
Edit1:"Optimizations" You mean they add placebo to the stock rom? fact is, CM9 will be faster then V10, and CM10 will be faster then V20. Say they release V30 as 4.2.2, you can bet your ass CM10.1 would be faster, v40 as 4.3, CM10.2 would be faster. v50 as 4.4 say, CM11? Would probably be faster than it.

No higher Android better Performence. Because it has more features, and can handle the Hardware better. For Example I mean Android 1 Beta dont support Dual Core Processor. Because the Rom doesnt detect it. And Android 4.3 can handle Bluetooth 4.0 and can handle the Ram and Processes better. Like compare windows 2000 with Windows 7 64 Bit.
If the Hardware Requirements is ok, we can have the full Power of it with good Android Version.

There is some truth when it comes to 4.3. For me cm10.2 is like lightning even compared to v10a. v10a ICS was pretty fast, but not as good as this. Its the best rom from LG with no tinkering though

Well try to use CM 10.1.3 latest with iodak v7.. U feel much difference!!! Its much battery friendly and Smooth
I moved back too, but to "official" 4.1.2 not 4.0.3. im using Jellyfish HD 1.3 (with iodak kernel) and its great. Finally MHL works, camera is awesome, video recording is smooth not like on cm. everything is smooth and battery life is much much better. I don't need to worry anymore if something will not work (like on 4.2 customs)
oh and games are more laggy, thats only one disadvantage
Sorry but we need to differentiate between pure android and OEM modified android. There is no possible way pure ICS is smoother/faster than later pure android versions. Resource management has only improved in newer versions of android. Hence low end devices always experience a performance improvement from newer aosp based Roms, from their latest stock firmware. Its common that OEMS introduce poor code, bugs etc that may take from the user experence in newer versions of their firmware, this is possibly the case of our device. Although there is a very minimal difference between stock 4.1 android and custom ROM/ kernels in terms of battery vs performance(other devices I own, the difference is night and day.). Which indicates lg done a great job of android 4.1 on our device.

That's total rubbish. I've seen nexus 7 users get worse and worse lag as they upgrade. That's pure android straight from Google! Nexus 4 users too. 4.3 Does have optimizations, and good ones at that. Its bloody fast no ****. But I've never seen a direct correlation between higher android version and smoother performance. Never. And I've had too many phones due to breakages. I knew a guy who swore by froyo when cm10 was available, because it was bloat free and smooth. Just because new bloat isn't directly visible doesn't mean it isn't there.

Do you seriously think google push crazy amounts of money into making a worse os than they had? I agree, and said in my previous post that updates occationally brake things, Its understandable for the android ecosystem(im not saying its accepable, i pisses me of and ive experenced it myself.)
Each update is a net good for android, btw google isnt bloating android, oems are responsiable for that, and oftern ruin what would have been a good update for a device. ICS on this device was better for gaming, but it distroyed battery , JB fixed that found a better balance.
I know people who still cling to windows xp, some day they will have to reliese, underling windows 8 is a much improved os.(no matter how much they or I disagree with the interface)

[Disscusion] A comparison between O4X and other Tegra3 powered devices

I have an Asus TF300T tablet which is also a Tegra3 powered device l. but despite a lot of hardwear similarities with my LG O4X it runs buttery smooth on custom ROMs like CM and the difference is very noticeable.
I tried many ROMs on my phone but the end results was not pleasing for me comparing my previous experience with another Tegra3 device.
So i wondered, what is missing in our device? Is the hardwear THAT different? Are we lacking a good developing community? Please help me out here
PS. Sorry for my poor English

Quality of Ram, they can write at different speeds which speeds up the device, Tegra Variant may be different, you may have 3 in ya tab and 0 in ya phone which would make a difference. Also in the tab theres more "space" I bet it doesnt get as hot when gaming as your phone would?
Different displays may appear to make them different, different frameworks and animations from tabs to phones, you'd need to compare to a HOX not to a tablet for a more accurate overview to answer the question.
My 4x is running reaaallllyyyy smooth on custom kernel. But the battery life sucks as hell.
Anyway, it's not all about the hardware. cm default kernel doesnt have much tuning except for tuning that were made by lg developers. If you want smoothness, try kernels such as warewolf and iodak. Much smoother than the default cm kernel.

[Q] Has someone experiences with Stock ROM on R819?

Has anyone installed Stock ROM on the R819 and can post his experiences? I am specially interested if one is able to optain root access and wether it is stable in daily use or not ...
Thanks a lot,

What do you mean with "stock rom". Stock Oppo rom or Vanilla Android? You can root both with Framaroot, and yes, they are both usable in daily use. Video camera does not work correctle with the unofficial Vanilla rom.

My sister has buy this phone yesterday. The first impressions of this phone is the screen is sharp but smooth on my eye, responsible, long life battery. But the camera is too bad if flash light is on (on night). If you take a photo on day, the image is look great. Although processor is quad core, i fund sometimes lagging.

[Q] Is XSP still a good buy?

Hi all, I currently own a Xperia U which I plan on changing in about June-July.
By that time, the SP will be priced about 250-279, €, and I love the esthetics of this phone.
The thing is, will it still be a good buy or will it be outdated?
Do you reccommend me this phone? I'll have to keep it for ~3-4 years so I have to choose carefully
Thanks for the help

I know, I would have chose the Z1 compact but it's too expensive, unless I find it for ~350€, but now it costs 500 so I don't think it's probable.. I'd like to keep using Sony products, what's the best phone in this range (250-350)?

So, if your budget is 350€ you can go with Xperia SP, and sorry I mean this phone will be outdated in 2 years
i think that by july there will be better options from sony since you like their design language you should stock to them, theres an upcoming sony called the xperia G and seems to be a very nice midranger, the reason i got the SP was because i got it for free for about 18 euros a month or about 25cdn/usd
Its a perfect phone but the one flaw with it is the roms
i keep saying it to everybody and ill say it again
this phone doesnt have a single good rom and believe me i tried every single rom in this website and i tried everyone for alteast 1 month if not more and i can tell you its gonna be a pain if you love flashing custom roms
This phone is probably one of the best for its price regarding performance.
However there are some little issues like the camera not being as good as expected ( you can still take some good photos though ) and memory management ( which one rooted be solved )
If you are planning to use this phone for 3-4 years I'm not sure SP will really be a good choice. It is solid (I let it fall more than once and it had nothing but little scratches on the corner ) but it doesn't seem like it will last long.
For example the screen got some scratches while being in my pocket and there is dust between the screen and the glass ( that might be cleaned under warranty )
Also this phone doesn't have a removable battery. It has a quite good battery life but 3-4 years is long for a phone battery and you can't change it.
If you like it rooted and customized, be sure you have an unlockable bootloader and there will be enough roms to flash. The 4.3 source have just been released for this device and it will enhance all the aosp based roms.
So more generally this phone is good and has visually a very good build quality but if you use it for some time you might feel like "issues" have been hidden behind a beautiful design and great performances.
In short my feeling is : premium design and performance but doesn't really feel premium as you use it for some time.
You should consider other options but if you do not really care about this "premium" feeling the Xperia SP is a good phone for the price.
Note : I've had this phone for about 6-7 month

xperia sp , good choice or not?

hi xda buddies!
im planning to leave my xperis x8 to a new device ,with a low-priced device like SP
ill be very happy if help me through out these question:
1-how much is sp's real antutu score? cause some videos on youtube shows a score around 15540 but another shows 23000?
2-Do you like the TFT screen on sp?(quality ,viewing angel, etc) rate from 1 to 10 (10 is a calibrated device like iphones or ipad)
3-Any problems experianced with SP?
4-If you turn back in time will you pick SP again?:sly:
5-Does this device runs GTA SA smooth?(more important that other question!)
Stupid Question ,sorry!
I personally like to pick new Asus fonepad7 which is way cheaper for me to get,and its stunning ips panel

1. alright so my antutu score is 23400
2. the screen is quite pleasant even in the sun so id rate it at a 7-8 viewing angles dont matter much since im always in front of the phone not lying down beside it
3. I havent experienced any problems with the xperia sp
4. i would re pick the sp because at the time there was nothing better up till recently i havent seen anything to match it
5. the sp is one of the best phones for gaming because it has the same gpu as most 2013 flagships minus the 1080p display hence it has a very high frame rate, it has one of the highest frame rates for any phone something around 49 fps

thats an incredible device , i never expected a mid-range phone from sony could beat most of 2012 - 2013 flagships. thats just unbeliveable , so whats the contrast of these antutu scores? its gained by the update to 4.3 or its a special version of phone?

the SP is a monster for a midranger, it even beats some flagships of the same time, Nexus 4, S3, Xperia Z, all thanks to that gpu and fast 1.7 ghz processor, in vellamo it beat out the note 3 and z ultra
yea it sounds great , if the screen was better ,i wont doubt to choose sp , but 4.6 is small for me (plus in screen navigation-bar which reduces acuall size), my main perpose is not performance , i think output is more important than performance cause you get a device to make use of it & we should attention to this harmony , so i prefer to get sth with better screen & ips panel(ips is very important)
but "MAYBE" i choose this device if the tft screen was good enough in first look

Buy ZR instead. It's only a little more expensive.
SP is a good phone. But 4.3 seems buggy.
IMHO...
For SP, I think it's a good choice (even for movies and games) for the budget conscious
I stayed away from 4.3 and after trying customised rom, is back with 254, rooted.
Whatever niceties I need - a launcher should help, without the problems associated with 4.3, and without much drain on the system

Benchmarks do not say anything about the real feel and performance of a device. To me it is important that a device feels quick and stable and this in combination with the low price did it for me.
