Has anyone installed Stock ROM on the R819 and can post his experiences? I am specially interested if one is able to optain root access and wether it is stable in daily use or not ...
Thanks a lot,
Stefan
What do you mean with "stock rom". Stock Oppo rom or Vanilla Android? You can root both with Framaroot, and yes, they are both usable in daily use. Video camera does not work correctle with the unofficial Vanilla rom.
Yes, sorry, I was talking abtut the Vanilla ROM

I'm using it for quite a while now and haven't experienced any issues at all!

My sister has buy this phone yesterday. The first impressions of this phone is the screen is sharp but smooth on my eye, responsible, long life battery. But the camera is too bad if flash light is on (on night). If you take a photo on day, the image is look great. Although processor is quad core, i fund sometimes lagging.

Hey guys,
Currently I am running slim bean 2.2 but I am looking for a rom with a better battery usage. Could you recommend one? Other than a long lasting battery I am not so eager about the fastest performance due to my heavily used nexus 7. I use the phone just for calls, some mails, calendar, Facebook, and just a little browsing on the go.
Thanks!

Exactly how long do you want it? I get 50-60% at the end of the day using CM10 nightly with either stock kernel or semaphore with 110OC. Normal use.
That is better than mine. I usually have like 10 to 20% with just half an hour to an hour of display on time.
I don't know which rom or kernel it was but I remember that I once had 4 hours of display on time on one day. It was probably froyo. That was great.

In the end every person has his own requirements. But if you want lots of screen time, than ROM won't make much difference cause in the end it's your screen that uses energy not the cpu. Personally I'd go for a custom kernel like Semaphore and then undervolt a bit, use powersave governer and then you'd have quite a lot of battery time.
I just wanted to state briefly that my battery drain is gone. I did a full wipe but this time downloaded all the apps from the store again and didn't use titanium.
I don't know why that fixed it but somehow it did. Just wanted to let you guys know.

Before I get too far ahead of myself, the model of the phone is LT30i. The LT30 model as you may know is the Xperia T.

Many people would be delighted if the news of future Xperia Nexus is really true.
But I am personally not holding my breath just yet.
Adreno 220? I thought the LT30's feature the 225 version. Whatever, blah, would be nice if similar to how the S got AOSP the T would get 5.0 AOSP or so.
You do know it is extremely easy to mod a build.prop to show a different Android version don't you? Plus, the CPU governor is probably PegasusQ (which only exists in custom kernels or Samsung kernels), so it's absolutely not real.
I agree with you except for the governor. I dont see any correlation brtween the stated and PegasusQ.

Hi guys,
There's several factors for me to consider between stock rom vs custom rom ( cm, aokp, aosp, pac etc etc), for instance:
Customizability
Features
Battery life
When I'm on stock, I feel like changing to custom rom,
when I'm on custom, I feel like changing to stock rom.
I can't really *stay* on a specific ROM.
Here's what I found out:
In Custom ROM:
Halo
Pie
Hide navigation bar
Tons of things to customize
In stock:
Small apps ( not that I need them to survive, but its good to multitask, like during browning, I can use calculator simultaneously.
Sony lockscreen ( I like this sexy lockscreen tho, anyone knows theres a similar feature like this for custom ROM? )
Walkman?
I used to fully depends on pie when I'm on custom ROM, because in that way, I can fully utilize the 1080p on our phones ( am I not right ? )
Then everything will be on fullscreen! :good:
I'm currently using Miui ROM, nice looking and lots of cool feature too! But somehow playing games is not as smooth as in stock / custom ROM.
Thinking of flashing to custom rom again due to pie feature, but it will be a hassle to switch back to stock rom because we have to flash ftf file, root, and bla bla, all those procedures are time consuming.
I know there's some apps that can replace those feature I missed from custom rom, like pie control, gmd auto hide, gmd gesture and xposed framework, gravity box, but don't u guys think that most of them are just consuming the ram and some of the apps are ( not sure about this ) draining battery as it needs to run on background everytime?
And what makes u all to decide which rom for you to flash over? Users from both side please share your experience, and what you do to replace those thing u missed.
-------------------------------------------------
Also, there's this MOD call viper4android or v4a which many of you have known it long ago, then there comes this PureXaudio from Zeroinfinity and Ac!d Engine.
pxa and ac!d engine uses sony official driver and uses hardware integration from our Xperia Z, while v4a are meant for a universal sound mod, but received tons of good review.
Anyone tried compare between those 3 in our xperia z? Which gives better clarity, bass?
Please advice and gives some experience.
Cheers :highfive:
So first I think you always utilize 1080p on stock. (if anyone cant confirm that please tell us).
And i use much xposed modules and the battery life is awesome with stock 4.3. I had 5.5h screen on time while using whatsapp, tapatalk, browser(chrome) and walkman the hole day.
But if you want really good screen on time, there on xda is a thread with some tips that you can achive 7h screen on time(i think with playing games).
And i use pxa and its great.

I can't utilize 1080p on stock as there's navigation bar, and i'm not using any mod / app to hide it.
I read about the thread that you're saying, but even on stock ( not miui ) I can only barely achieve 4 hours with minimal usage ( whatsapp + browsing only )
yea, i used pxa in earlier version, v16 - v18, they're incredible, but im hoping someone who tried those 3 and give a review.
Aha you mean that you want use full screen(no navbar, no satusbar)?
Yeah and youre using chrome right?
If you use some of the tips there you will have. Much better scree on time! Also if you use doomlords kernel.
Gesendet von meinem C6603 mit Tapatalk
you are 100 % true @xIceCream , i think 90 % of people here can't stay on one rom ,
i used to have sony xperia s , the only thing i miss and i will always miss is the dual boot 2 roms
i used to have stock + pac
1 reboot and change the rom and experience in couple of secs
i wish we see it here at xperia z
Chrome drains your battery. Use an other brwoser and remove chrome for saving battery.
I think there are mods for full screen.

Hi all, I currently own a Xperia U which I plan on changing in about June-July.
By that time, the SP will be priced about 250-279, €, and I love the esthetics of this phone.
The thing is, will it still be a good buy or will it be outdated?
Do you reccommend me this phone? I'll have to keep it for ~3-4 years so I have to choose carefully
Thanks for the help

I very recommend this phone, but this will be outdated in 1 year, perhaps you can change your cycle or buy xperia z1 compact

I know, I would have chose the Z1 compact but it's too expensive, unless I find it for ~350€, but now it costs 500 so I don't think it's probable.. I'd like to keep using Sony products, what's the best phone in this range (250-350)?

The SP is real good! Another Sony Smartphone alternative I think is the Xperia M2 (just released on MWC) or the Xperia ZL maybe? Just take a look at them

So, if your budget is 350€ you can go with Xperia SP, and sorry I mean this phone will be outdated in 2 years
i think that by july there will be better options from sony since you like their design language you should stock to them, theres an upcoming sony called the xperia G and seems to be a very nice midranger, the reason i got the SP was because i got it for free for about 18 euros a month or about 25cdn/usd
Its a perfect phone but the one flaw with it is the roms
i keep saying it to everybody and ill say it again
this phone doesnt have a single good rom and believe me i tried every single rom in this website and i tried everyone for alteast 1 month if not more and i can tell you its gonna be a pain if you love flashing custom roms
This phone is probably one of the best for its price regarding performance.
However there are some little issues like the camera not being as good as expected ( you can still take some good photos though ) and memory management ( which one rooted be solved )
If you are planning to use this phone for 3-4 years I'm not sure SP will really be a good choice. It is solid (I let it fall more than once and it had nothing but little scratches on the corner ) but it doesn't seem like it will last long.
For example the screen got some scratches while being in my pocket and there is dust between the screen and the glass ( that might be cleaned under warranty )
Also this phone doesn't have a removable battery. It has a quite good battery life but 3-4 years is long for a phone battery and you can't change it.
If you like it rooted and customized, be sure you have an unlockable bootloader and there will be enough roms to flash. The 4.3 source have just been released for this device and it will enhance all the aosp based roms.
So more generally this phone is good and has visually a very good build quality but if you use it for some time you might feel like "issues" have been hidden behind a beautiful design and great performances.
In short my feeling is : premium design and performance but doesn't really feel premium as you use it for some time.
You should consider other options but if you do not really care about this "premium" feeling the Xperia SP is a good phone for the price.
Note : I've had this phone for about 6-7 month

Not a con for me, if I find a good ROM I'll stick with that (I've used CM11 for over two months now on my XU, because it perfectly suits my needs) so I think I'm gonna buy it

Yeah but
1) it's not available in Italy
2) it's way more expensive, I have a ~250€ budget

A very good buy for the budget conscious.
BUT - stay with firmware 4.1.2 (this is only my experience, as 4.1.2 seems much faster than 4.3 on my device)

Also in 4.1.2 there is no battery drain in opposition 4.3 drained my battery fast.
Since the AW 2.0 update the performance got worse for me. Alarm and timer need longer to start, Starting Google Assistent is a nightmare (I start it for voice commands)! The watch fells asleep while starting it!
How are your experiences? Am I alone with this? I really thought, the performance could get better with 2.0. The hardware cannot be the problem as so many new watches have the same CPU and memory configuration.
Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A3003 mit Tapatalk
i have the same problem that your friend, the lag is awesome; also the battery is consumed faster Have you tried factory reset?
Yes, I did. Did not change anything.
Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A3003 mit Tapatalk
Friend, try disabling Zenwatch Manager; apparently this worked for me, it feels a little more fluid; but the battery remains the same
How did you disable it?
Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A3003 mit Tapatalk
In your watch, press the app a few seconds, then the option more, then disable
I can't deactivate it, as it is a system app. There is no such option. I can deactivate other apps like Asus Zenwatch Fit.
Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A3003 mit Tapatalk
Give me a chance and I upload you captures, so I disable it.
perhaps you need to enable developer options first? I am able to disable zenwatch manager, but that did not appear to help with the lag. also, disabling that app also disables the night time dock mode - which I really like. however, doing a restart once in a while helps with the lag.
i am also curious about performance on AW1.5 vs AW2.0
i started out with 2.0, and performance is mediocre at best. Assistant takes FOREVER to load, pretty much rendering it useless.
is performace on 1.5 notably better?
Yes, it was, unfortunately ...
Gesendet von meinem ONEPLUS A3003 mit Tapatalk
Just posting up in here to say mine lags like crazy too. I have AW2.0 however I don't remember it running any faster with 1.5. It was slow then, its still slow now. Its just never been a fast smooth operating device to begin with.
Performance and battery life were so much better on AW1.5 my biggest gripe is that doing anything feels like mud... It got so bad I went out and bought a Fossil Q Explorist (Gen 3) and the performance is vastly different, battery life is still not as good as my Moto360 (Gen 1) or my AZ3 on AW1.5
I've tried everything, on the AZ3; factory resets, repairing over Bluetooth, disabling the ZenWatch app, etc. I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of support and updates from Asus.
I remember 1.5 was laggish so I was expecting it from 2.0. but damn 2.0 is so laggy, I have my ZW2 2.0 and its much better in every task. I downgraded to 1.5 and damn it is muuuuuuch better watch, much smoother than I remembered. but I don't know how to disable ota update nag and im again sitting on 2.0 joke-of-a-software
agreed. my 1st gen moto360 was very quick in responding to my voice. my lone gripe with this is the lack of response time. hoping that gets improved with a new version of AW....
IF there is any...
