Looking for some advice please

Hello,
My wife has somehow managed to get her galaxy mini stuck in a boot loop. USB debug was not enabled before this happened and I cannot see the phone with adb. I can get to download mode, does anyone have any suggestions on how to go from here?

what is the current rom? try wipe data/factory reset in recovery.. but user apps will be gone and settings will be back to default..

Install kies in ur pc
Install odin for mini
Dwnload tass.ops
Check for working usb cable and port
Dwnld any stock firmware from samfirmwares.com
Extract its contents and place it anywhere in pc
Keep ur phone in download mode...power+centre+down buttons when phone is off
Connect to pc while running odin
If odin detects your device ( to check this, observe a yellow bar in COM1 AFTER connectin phone)
Click one package, select ops, select tar.md5(stock firmware)
Push start
Have some water take a potty break
When a blue colour in COM1 is shown with pass in it...THEN ONLY DISSCONNECT THE PHONE
THE ABOVE STEP IS VVVVERY IMPORTANT
Use ur phone like before
Happy flashing and good luck

There's absolutely no need to flash froyo before gingerbread. U can directly flash gb...

No.. U HAve 2 ..I Also Had Flashed GB via Odin 10-15 Times But It Didnt Work For Me ...
Thn Aftrwrds I Flashed The Stock Froyo ... Which Worked For Me ..

When i was in such prob i had given my phone to the service centre & even dat dum guy coulnt fix it out... Yagya Gaire helped me abt this thing & it worked

Thanks for the replies. I will try odin, im wondering if odin will work if I cannot see the phone with adb? It is currently stock everything as it was out of the box. The first thing I did was the factory reset but it diddnt help.

If ur from any cm7 or cm9 then this is useful.
first flash GB using odins u see the samsung logo boot looping now close the odins ,remove the battery,reinsert it and now enter into recovery and wipe data and cache. (I do the same thing when I flash gb from cm9)

It seems odin is windows only? Does anyone know of a good tool for Linux?

For Linux you have Heimdall.

If your phone stays in download mode flash it through odin and revive it... Also instructions are provided by Google so please search "flash galaxy mini 2 gingerbread odin".

but odin cannot connet to my phone why will like tis ? how can fix it ?

me go google type flash galaxy mini2 gingerbread odin , it is tell me how to root samsung galaxy mini 2 , but me root aready , my problem is when me boot phone , it will auto go to download mode and cannot open recovery mode , and me use odin flash again recovery mode , the odin no connet to the phone , me flash it always fail

Have you installed Kies? You need to install Samsung drivers on your PC for the phone to be able to connect.

install zip , tat zip is for fix cm9 wifi and bluetooth problem de

Once it enter download mode, it can't b turned on either normally or in recovery. So,
*Download exact gingerbread firmware of ur country and mobile drivers for ur model no. and flash guide (visit www.samfirmware.com)
*Install drivers on pc.
*Open odin.
*Flash the f/w by following the flash guide.
*Done.
If however, ur phone still goes to download mode when u press power button, then it might be the malfunctioning of ur phone's hardware keys (that helps enter download mode). So, give it to service center for repairing coz u can't do more than this…

when me ectract the zip , me gt see 2 ting , flash all 2 or tat md5 onli ? and put it wat side ? at PDA side ? tat SS.DL.dll ting cannot flash it-.- me flash the zip file , the odin will not responding

when me flash finish tat md5 file , the samsung galaxy mini 2 go reboot , i see boot animation , when the boot animation finish , than it will always reapet the boot animation , and cannot go in...

It seems that Download Mode problem no longer exists(i.e. solved). Hmm... ur phone is bootlooping now. Do this:-
1. Take out & then re-insert bettery.
2. Goto Recovery mode.
3. Wipe data/factory reset.
4. Wipe cache.
5. Reboot system now.
Done.:thumbup:

[Q] Ace Wont Go into CWM Recovery mode

Hi Guys,
**Alert : Noob Here **
So, I decided to install some custom ROM on my Samsung Galaxy ACE S5830 and went through loads of information on how to do so. So this is what i did - ( from the start) :
a. Rooted the phone ( from a file called upd_1.zip ( 925KB) by going into recovery mode)..
It worked fine and my phone got a 'superuser' on the application drawer.
b. Installed 'recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix' using the recover mode. ( had to rename the file to update.zip coz the recovery mode was not reading the file ).. Worked properly as i got another application 'CWM' on my application drawer.
c. Now, just to check if my CWM was doing good in recovery mode, I switched off my cell, pressed 'vol-up + home + power-up' button to go into recovery mode.. I got some text on the top left corner of the screen with a SAMSUNG logo on the screen...and then it got stuck there...i waited for some time but nothing happened.
I removed the battery and tried switching on the phone normally ( just power-up the phone ) (just to ensure that it still works) and now, the phone is stuck with the SAMSUNG logo on the screen and doesn't work at all !!!
I am confused as after installing CWM, i did switch on the phone normally and it seemed to work fine..but now after I pressed 'vol-up + home + power-up' buttons, its stuck at the black screen with LOGO on it...
Any clue what's wrong with my phone??

I think you just bricked your phone, you have to flash a stock Rom.
Recovery Mode: Power + Home + Vol Up.

I am pretty sure that I took the right software for my model. I even made sure that its S5830 and not S5830i

Bro try going to download mode by pressing vol down+power+home press it for 7-8 seconds then flash multi pakage firmware from sammobile.com
and the link is for ace s5830i not ace s5830 check the link for your stock firmware

You have used the wrong combo & have got yourself in the ram dump mode. The combination for recovery is, power + home button simultaneously & when something appears on phone, leave the power button while still holding the home key. Btw, no need to announce a high alert that you're a noob or such unless you're a badass
@ Ppl : Read what he's done carefully & reply if you know. Don't confuse the newbies.

Haha - the alert was just for the experienced guys to not use 'experts terminology' while explaining me what to do
Well, I tried following your method. I help d home button and the power button and let go for the power button when 'SAMSUNG' appeared while still holding the home button...but nothing happened.. The screen is stuck at that particular screen itself with no progress..
Should I flash my phone with stock firmware as advised by the guys above?

I restored the phone with stock ROM and a tutorial from another member about flashing stock ROM from ODIN got my cell working !!!
Yayyy !!!

I thought its better to search for things ranther than troubling you guys to spoon feed me everything...
For rooting, I am gonna try doing everything from the start and be a little more attentive.
1. So, from hubix's guide, I downloaded the below mentioned bold file:
"SuperOneClick 2.3.3 (for 2.2> firmwares) or Universal Gingerbread Root/Unroot (for 2.3< firmwares)"
2. To install CWM , i downloaded the following file :
"ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.6 (Fixed!)""
3. Since my phone Android version is 2.3.6, I would go with 'Db' method of rooting :
"Db. Rooting for 2.3.x (NEW METHOD!):
Download file called universal_gb_root_v25.zip and copy it to your sdcard
Turn off your phone
Press POWER+HOME BUTTON
Select update from sdcard, select the file universal_gb_root_v25.zip
After the update completed - reboot
Now you have rooted S5830"
4. Then, follow up the the Flash Custom Recovery steps from the same page, which is as follows :
Put recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace.zip into SD Card
Turn off your phone
Press POWER+HOME BUTTON
Select Update Zip From SD-Card option. [If you are on previous version of CWM recovery then you might need to select Install Zip From SD Card and then Choose Zip From SD Card Option simultaneously. ]
Select recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace.zip and flash it
Reboot your device
Please let me know if I am correct or will following these steps would screw up my phone again ???

Cool..now coming to installing the custom ROM, can I install any custom ROM ? Because in few of the ROM's, there is something mentioned as
"This Rom is based on CyanogenMod 10.1 for Galaxy Ace"
What is this supposed to mean ?? Are there any other parameters which decide on the factors on what ROMs can be costumed installed??
( for example in some ROM i also saw something to do with ext partition )

1. Search thread HOW TO ROOT GALAXY ACE. Follow the steps.
2. Search thread HOW TO INSTALL CWM. Follow the steps.
3. Some good and stable ROMs are posted on my blog, you may check out the features and screenshots and install whichever suits you.

hello,
i have the same problem as u do......
but i cant flash my phone using odin....coz everytime i connect it with my computer it says usb device is not recognised....
and the com port mapping in odin is also not loading.....
i am using windows 8.1......but the problem is not solved in 8,xp or 7.....
what should i do????

its only going into the download mode.....and nowhere else....
no recovery or boot mode....

I probably can't. But you can try as followed:
- Install Samsung drivers + start ODIN (You probably already have)
- Pull out battery
- Put in USB cable (I'm sure you have tried another cable yet)
- Press key combo for download mode (Vol down + power + home)
- Put the battery back in while still holding down the keys.

[HELP] Can't unbrick my i9001

Hi everybody !
Yesterday, I swapped the sd cards of my gs+ but the phone didn't boot and stayed at the boot animation (CM10.1). So, I tried to restock it but Odin stayed at the AMSS download. I tried to install many other stock ROM but it was stuck at this thread. Today, I retry to flash CWM recovery and stock ROM but now it block at setup connection. I don't know why because I put the ariesve.ops file in the good section.
I have already bricked my phone many times but the restock worked fine.
What can I do ? Please help me I love my I9001 ! :crying:

The best solutions is to go to a Samsung Service. I had bricked my phone to and i paid 100 $ and they changed my motherboard. Or go to a professional service.

I like my S+ but I don't want to pay 100$ for a thing I think I can do by myself ^^

Have you tried with worked2.rar??
It helped me many times.

do not worry is happening for me everytime i want to flash the stock firmware.. just change the USB port power off the phone then put it in downloading mode and try again till you succeed

My phone didn't boot to download mode or recovery mode , i trieed with a JIG but it didn't boot to download mode. That's why I payed 100$. Can you boot to download mode?

The problem you had was caused by ODIN. I've had it to. You have to use a specific version of ODIN and that version is the one you finde in the recovery package you've just used. So beware in the future!

I tried with 3 versions of Odin but now I'm glad it is working fine

From now on you can use this http://easyandroidsolutions.blogspot.ro/2012/10/recover-samsung-galaxy-s-plus-i9001.html

It is very important to use correct version of ODIN, happened to me too with my first flashing

i think i have the same you had
and i even tried worked2 but when it rebooting in Odin it stuck in the logo of CM 10 after rebooting and don't go to recovery mode
but i still can see my download mode and i think the CWM is not exist now

If you successfully flashed cwm via odin. switch off the phone. take out the battery and insert it back.
Connect your data cable to your phone(not to pc). Then press and hold volume up button and switch on the phone. When the samsung logo appears leave the button. When Samsung galaxy s plus logo appears, just tap the menu button(left touch button). You will get in to the CWM recovery. Then wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvic cache (in advanced menu). Then flash a new rom.

Men my problem is that my galaxy ace don't boot on download mode It stock on black screen whit some of light
I tried using the bottom combo, adb force. (add reboot download)
I think that I damage my bootloader(download mode) do you think this can be repair whit usb jigg??

enter recovery and use adb but only adb ommands can`t use shell commands (adb shell)...i flash a normal rom stock and it worked good i enter in download mode but after three times the download mode damaged :/ its something wear i think so

You can use Odin Multi Downloader for S5830, try flash Stock Firmware (newest in sammobile.com) with Cooper file. After reboot You go in Recovery and put factory reset. I think will be good.

I can't use download mode!... And my data partition is damaged so I can't wipe data o install roms

How is supposed to connect via Odin if my phone does not have download mode, I can't access, it's broken. So connecting with Odin is impossible... Also Odin Multi Downloader never worked for me, before i used Odin 3.07 because was the only Odin who detect my phone... An my phone is in a continuous bootloop, and my data partition is broken also, so mounting it Is impossible, the fix only way to fix it isflashing a complete stock firmware

Hey these thing was happened with me also there is an trick
when you try to go in download mode so it comes only black screen light right ? ok so now just let it be plug your phone to pc where odin is running and then just press volume up will be connected try these it will work it work for me too
The black screen is nothing but an Download mode which we cant see try it

Yes i am sure because at before my download mode was not working so i done all flashing and all things by these trick which i mentioned its my own trick !

How back to life galaxy ace GT-5830 , phone is hard brick , i try everythink jig and odim heimdall , phone did't go download mode any solution without JTAG ? Thanks if any idea PM .

Recently i try to load slim custom rom, and brick my phone, i try to odin download mode, my phone not deducted, after several try in download mode, now phone was not opening in download mode.. please kindly give a solution , my phone shows only galxy ace screen nothing but recovery mode working,

Hi,
I have the same problem however the black screen goes too fast and odin fails to upload. Do I leave the phone pc plugged during the process?
Pressing vol + does nothing, phone still reboots.
EDIT: nvm, I just found out you can jtag to fix it with RIFF Box.

man when you press volume up + volume down + power button
you will get downloading mode in a good device but your problem is that it is giving black screen
that means it is already making the same result
so to solve your problem when it gives you the black screen press volume up and now your device is in downloading mode
tested ... 100 %

You can try Heidmall the usb jigg , if it fails then try the hardware jigg
