ok i installed cyanogens 4.0.1 using the 1 click root method
after flashing the rom, i partitioned my sdcard, but after doing that, i did not reflash my rom. is that bad? everything on my phone seems to be working fine, except the im app and myfaves. should i reflash the rom anyway?
and also, what are the effects of reflashing the rom? does it delete anything? like my settings or something..
thanks in advance!
reflashing the rom will not hurt anything. i think you may need to do it to activate a2sd anyways.
just reflashing the rom will not delete anything

well it seems to be working already so far.. but ill reflash just to be sure. thanks!
oh yeah, and just to be sure, to reflash the rom do i have to download the 4.0.1 again and reflash it using the "apply any update" thing in recovery? basically same way i flashed it in the beggining?
it should still be on your sdcard unless you deleted it off of there. just boot into recovery and flash it.
ok i will.. and btw, can i delete the 2 files in the cmupdater folder? one is the actual file, the other is like some mmds5 or something
just use a file manager (i like Astro) and go to the root of your sdcard and there is folder something like cm-updates. just open it and delete the files inside of it should do it.
ok i did it, THANKS!!!!
no problem glad you got it working
I have wrongly deleted maps.
I tried with my old backup with /system/app in root explorer.
its not installs.

go to Market/Google play and download it free, if not go here >GAPPS-gb
flash that in recovery like you would a rom and it will reinstall it with the other Google Software like Market etc.
if I download from market it shows error like incombitable version.
flashed . no use.
restore backup of rom if u ever made one or if your on a custom rom ie one off here just flash over your rom again without wiping, just flash
I don't have backup right now.
I will update tmro. thanks for ur prompt reply.

you don't have a backup......and your rooted right? thats a tad bit silly now isn't it!
I have rooted with m1n 4.7 sense 3.5 ROM.
but zip files are in my work laptop.
I flashed the rom with zip thro recovery, I got maps back.
But I lost internal memory, mail and other settings. Whether I need to flash data2sd script again?

As the title say, I'm in search of someone who is running the stock Rogers ROM for HTC Raider and want to make a backup of it so I could use it please.. Thanks
If anyone is curious as to why he needs this and can't use something else... The original owner had the stock ICS rooted ROM on the device. The OP flashed a new ROM without flashing the kernel first. Now the device will not go past HBOOT (he CAN get to recovery). Here's the kicker, his computer no longer reads his device when he plugs it in. He tried other USB cords/ports, tried adb/fastboot and no luck. So essentially this is where we are.
- Stock Rogers ICS kernel
- Some other ROM
- Unlocked bootloader and S-ON
- No access to computer
Can't flash a kernel because no access to computer, can't boot up the phone to use an app to flash the kernel, not S-OFF. His SD card is not corrupt however, he can take it out and read/write, just not when it's in the Raider. RUU and PH zip won't work because unlocked bootloader and not able to connect to computer.
So essentially I think what might work is if someone can offer us a ROOTED ROGERS ICS ROM zip. Also what might work is a nand backup from someone on the stock Rogers ROM. This way he can put it on the SD card, flash/restore from recovery, and then he will have the matching kernel+ROM.
I have a stock ICS RUU Rogers if you want it?
I got it from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416836
But download takes forever. PM me and ill put it on my dropbox.
EDIT:
Errr never mind. Let me see if i can get a NAND backup of my ROM

That would be great man. I'm really thinking that might do the trick, everything else isn't working.
Just curious, what recovery are you running? OP, what recovery are you running as well? I don't think it'll matter if you two have different recoveries but it doesn't hurt to check.

Hey dude, do you guys want the RUU or the CWM backup?
I just flashed CWM v5.5.0.4, this one here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423075
Im currently backing up my device ATM. Will go back to stock ICS and backup that after. Will post the stock ICS in 40 mins or so (eating and doing this at the same time ).
sorry, hit a little snag. I end up having to re-flash, re-root, etc the whole works since i got a CWM recovery loop.
Here's the RUU of the rogers one:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6792158/RUU....21_34.30.701040.22_release_264282_signed.exe
Im heading in a bit, so ill do a backup using WCX recovery method instead of CWM.

My recovery is CWM 5.5.0.4
I've already downloaded the same one but as my comp can't find my device when I plug it, I can't run the RUU..
Edit: I need to wait for a nand backup
Okay, lets try this...
this is the Nand backup of stock ICS Rogers. Let me know if you're having problems.

-Use the flashable zip from a custom rom. I recommend using stocklite.
-Get a nandroid backup of your desired stock rom (previously deodexed) with cwm.
-Replace/remove files in the zip with the ones in your nandroid backup. This includes boot.img, system/app, and any other stuff.
-check the updater-script (inside the zip's meta-inf address) to make sure everything is there and you're not flashing stuff to the wrong place.
-that's it, a stock deodexed flashable zip. Good luck, try it, fix it if something ain't quite right.

That's a good tip my friend. I will do that ! No doubt ! Thanx
.................................................................................................................................
I want to make pure KTM stock flashable zip.
I take zip from Stocklite but i wanna ask if it's safe to remove (mkfs.ext4) and (format.sh).
After i remove this files i need to edit (updater-script) and remove line 24 to 31.
Code:
package_extract_file("format.sh", "/tmp/format.sh");
package_extract_file("mkfs.ext4", "/tmp/mkfs.ext4");
set_perm(0, 0, 0755, "/tmp/format.sh");
set_perm(0, 0, 0755, "/tmp/mkfs.ext4");
run_program("/tmp/format.sh");
delete("/tmp/format.sh");
delete("/tmp/mkfs.ext4");
Then copy files from stock (backup) to zip ...
That should be all ?
I haven't the slightest clue of what those files do (gonna google them). Doesn't hurt to try... (as long as you've got a backup and odin at hand)
Nice Idea!! I might try this in my free time.

Hello, i've just bought a stock SGS+, with stock rom and recovery. I'd like to install 4.2.2, and my problem is that the phone is still on warranty. Will my warranty be void if I install CWM (I know it will if i install custom roms, but that can be easily reverted to stock), and if it will, can i return to the stock recovery in any way later? Thanks for help and sorry for my bad english

Type *#1234# and write down what you seen in screen. Inorder to claim the warranty you must need that to return to the exact stock Rom which your phone was shipped with. Also take precautions before you start flashing. Take backup of efs and persist. Once you lost these files you can't get them back.
Always be prepared to face an unexpected brick/bootloop/freeze/random reboots etc. Get ready with all the informations to overcome these situations. Happy flashing..
Edit : Flashing stock Rom will overwrite all the previous custom installations. And revert to the stock. Don't worry. There will be stock recovery.

Yea you can install. But don't forget to wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvic cache before installing the zip.
I am using CWM 6.0.3.2 and not facing an issue with it. Haven't used TWRP yet... so can't comment about it. Those who are using says its good.

Hey, once again I have a question. I want to be fully prepared, so i found a tutorial as illustrated as possible, and I would like to ask if it's a good one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776095
Also, is the stockification process the same, but with stock ROM package, or is something different?

It;s a brilliant tutorial. Explained there is a method installing CWM, Rooting and Deodexing of untouched stock ROM users.
You can use the same method as explained in CWM installation using Odin to revert back to stock. Only one difference, instead of that recovery image you have to select the stock ROM image.
Give a Big thanks to Broodplank1337 for such a wonderful tutorial.:good:
Thanks for all the support man ^^
In the tutorial i see CWM v5.5.0.4, and you have 6.0.1.3, and on one thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843825) I've seen that there is 6.0.2.6 already, but they're .zip, not .tar. I should flash 5.5.0.4 with Odin first and then install new CWM .zip through CWM, am I right? And when i'm revering to stock, do i have to download the right firmare, or can i just backup my own? Or if I backup it with CWM will it lose the stock recovery?
And also, I can't find any /efs /persist backup tutorial :C Sorry for all your time taken, but perhaps you have any link? Thanks again
Recovery
Well when i need waranty i just need to restore the rom but what about recovery ? can i leave it on CWM 6

Yes you can install CWM 5.5.0.4. If you are looking for a newer version, you can use Alireza7991's CWM 6.0.3.2(thanks to him). you can find both .tar and .zip files there.
When reverting to stock, you have to download any stock. If it's for warranty purposes, you need to download the one for your region.
In order to flash the stock rom, you have to use odin, not CWM.
Here is how you can backup your /efs and /persist
Good luck.

As i said before, when you flash the stock, all your previous customizations will also lost. After that there will be only stock recovery.
Thanks again for all the answers, still got one question - when is the possibility of losing efs or persist? During rom flash or CWM flash? Can i flash the CWM without the risk of losing esf?

Risks will be there all the time. No one can assure you that any step or method is 100% fool proof. That's why all the developers in here underlying that "Try it your own"., they take no responsibility of any damages.
