A good question, as far as I know the hardware is the same.:good:
so... it can be don, but first I must take apart my 2 hd7 to compare... when I got enough time to do it...
Update, yes they are...

I disassemble the HD7S, and they look exactly the same, even the LCD connector is the same.

Thanks for taking the time to disassemble and compare them. :good:
I guess Ill buy a Hd7s screen and try it out then. As far the screen is not to expensive its worth trying.
wait a moment and read please

Hey there.
My Xperias screen is broken, the bottom half is dead but the touch is still working. The phone is fully functional except for this and that the slider is bent in the lower left corner a few millimetres. I am using my old K810i and I'm buying a new phone soon, but just leaving a functional Xperia to rot in a drawer seems a bit... uneconomical?
NOTE: I will NOT be repairing the screen. No, there is no insurance that covers a broken screen. No, I won't buy a replacement screen for 90 bucks. Don't suggest it, please.
What I am looking for are uses for this device now that I've decided not to repair it and rather get a new phone, so don't give me comments like "Why not fix it?", if you'd be kind. I want to utilize the phone as it is, maybe the keyboard can be connected to my PS3, maybe I can sell the phone, maybe I can use it as something else. All suggestions are welcome!
Thanks
/Felix
Anything else than selling it will require huge effort and good tech skills.
if you're not gonna fix it, sell it; it's basically useless. Give someone else the chance to resurrect it.

I agree with this. Possible use could be as a wireless router for your notebook, either for WLAN or for HSPA...

Also there's probably software that lets you use it as a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard.

Hm.. since there are devices with a 480x480 resolution on WM6.1, I am thinking it might be possible to cook a ROM that uses 480x480 instead of 480x800 and therefore the part of the screen that's still working would be quite usable.
I don't know if this would really work or if anyone has ever even tried it, it's just an idea.
YE, lets cook a rom for one device oO
[x]sell it
maybe a tech freak will love the opportunity!

I know what you can do, start your own phone store and use that X1 as a display model.
Haha, "Askew Xperia with random cracks and scratched battery cover"
Thank you all for your tips. I'll try to sell it for 80 bucks or so, if I don't find using it for my PS3 EXTREMELY useful ^^

Hello, recently, my phone fell in the water.
I gave it to an repair shop named "My Mobiles".
The place looked like they "couldn't" scam people.
After two days of "servicing", they showed me the mobile.
They said that sometimes the phone wouldn't on.
The touch screen was working perfectly, someone showed me the working of the mobile, unlocked the lockscreen, scrolled through the different home screens.
They would service for another day, flash, and return it back to me.
The next day, they gave it to me.
They said that the touchscreen wasn't working perfectly in some places.
I wanted to test it, they said that the electricity wasn't there and they couldn't charge right now.
I went home with my mobile.
I charged it for a long time.
Then, when I turned it one, I couldn't access the touchscreen whatsoever.
I'm pretty sure that they replaced the digitizer with an non-working one.
But, I'm not sure how to prove it. So, is there any documentation provided that says that can identify the id of my digitizer?
I live in India, and good people here are a million-to-one.
What can I do?
Thank you.

Hah, yeah.
But how do I confirm about the digitizer?
I have to confirm that I'm right.
So, how do I do that?
Or is it just better to buy a digitizer?
(I sincerely don't see any point arguing with a bunch of dumbasses in a room full of "judges")
How much would the digitizer cost and which trusted place do I get it from?
I would recommend you to take your phone to that shop once more..
They must fix any error they made..
Or it would be better to take your parents along with you..(if you are a kid..)

Yeah, I did think of that, but the previous day, the digitizer was working, atleast accessible.
But, the next day, it didn't even respond.. I don't understand how that could that happen !
They did say that "it's an motherboard problem", but the mobile is working perfectly other than the battery and the touchscreen..
And, has someone used a new digitizer, successfully?
Is there any tutorial to replace the digitizer? I did find this : http://erkinson.altervista.org/en/sony-ericsson-xperia-x8-smontaggio-e-sostituzione-display-touch/
But, it isn't mentioned perfectly how to replace it..

Why not? It shows you what you have to remove(1 and 2) to replace digitizer. Then whatever you remove you place it back, while you are replacing the digitizer.
If you are not familiar with this stuff i advise you to leave it to someone who know how to do it.

hey guys, I have a really quick Q for u. Is it possible to only replace the Digitizer/Glas on the One? They sell em for really cheap and because my screen still works fine after droping it (hell even the Digitizer still works!) I hoped that i can just replace it. The search doesn't show any result when I type in things like Display Digitizer etc. Did anyone attempted this? I saw some people replacing just the Glass on a Galaxy S4 on YouTube but there are only a few really poor videos on YouTube about the HTC One.

No, don't bother trying. The digitiser/glass is fused/bonded to the LCD and is very, very difficult to separate, so you'd just be wasting your time. Buy the whole LCD/digitiser assembly, and you'll be good

They're probably torn apart for good.. Try if you wanna, but it isn't recommended. There was an article on the xda portal about this a few weeks ago. You should read that to know about all the risks involved..

Dude just send it in for repair ... if you try and repair it it's going to cost you a fortune every time you attempt to repair a part you'll destroy 3 others.
T-mobile has a Refurb you can buy for $312 cash

it's not a matter of Faith it's just facts .. have you ever separated a digitizer from glass or an lcd ? it's an 11 on a scale of 10 in difficulty
if you tried it 100 times you would get maybe one working one.
and you have one chance to get it right .. good luck
I went to a cellphone repair center yesterday to get an iPhone's digitizer replaced, and I asked one of the guys who worked there if they fixed HTC One's too, and he said "no those phones are on our blacklist, you try to fix one thing you'll end up breaking something else." I think it's best to no try to open up this device. I know how you feel though, you really want to try to fix it on your own, but I can tell you from experience, some devices aren't meant to come apart, let alone put back together properly.
Allright, i recently broke my S3 Lte's screen, which is still working properly even though the glass is shattered. So i was just wondering, would this kit work/fit properly as an replacement, because the genuine screen is like +100$ expensive? http://www.ebay.com/itm/for-Samsung-i9305-Galaxy-S3-S-III-LTE-Replacement-White-Front-Glass-Lens-ZVGS102-/300865220725
Because the glass part of the screen is broken, not the digitizer or none of them under the glass. Thanks for help in advance! :good:

Yeah you can do that, i did it myself too. But you have to be really careful man, because if your digitizer get's damaged, you're ****ed. Plus i would buy one with some tools included.

True, but the regular S3 is from the outside (screen/frame/battery) exactly the same as the LTE version, the only difference is a little more RAM and 4G. I used the regular screen too bro.

Hi, I broke my screen on P7 and I want to replace it by myself. Do you have any experiences with this process?
Thanks for advises
Can someone just give me a good link for a complete screen, lcd, touch, and glass(free shiping is desirable). Thanks in advance.
Dude.... its a PITA.
The back is "stuck in place"with glue that you need to remove, and then replace. The whole unit then needs to be taken apart. I tried it once, and being used to screen replacements myself, was surprised to fail miserably.
Its not that expensive from a Huawei center, and if its under warrenty, the labour is even free!

I have to agree with Juggles.
There's no point doing it yourself, unless you are experienced mobile phone technician. If your phone was bought new then just send it for repair as it is under warranty.

And I have to disagree... I just successfully replaced my broken screen few days ago. It's not that hard.
Is it possible to change the front glass without the digitizer?
After all thats just a couple of bucks compared to the "real-thing", but I gess its not the best option as there isn't a "How to change only frontglass out there"...
