Is it fixed or not?
If not, get stock KK4 on Odin One Click or Heimdall, you'll be able to flash it being in download mode.

I can't help you if you don't provide more information..
What did you do when you tried to flash stock KK4 with Odin? What happened?
What Odin said when the flash was completed? Did the phone reboot itself?
Did you flash the version with the Bootloaders or not? (You need the Bootloaders version if you're coming from Eclair or Froyo)

You mentioned you were on Eclair, you can't flash something that is meant for GB and up without having the required bootloaders.
Do you get any response from your phone? Tried the button combos?
If so, you might have to buy/build a jig to force your phone in download mode and be able to flash KKA with bootloaders.
PS.: Next time, do more reading and make sure you fully understand what you're doing before flashing.

A USB jig? if so, you simply put it in your phone's usb jack (make sure you battery is charge) and it will force it in download mode. From there, read the steps I posted above.

JIG is not working and this is hard brick .. can't get downloadmode .. only showing firmware upgrade fail .. can't go to recovery or downloadmode ..
any idea how to fix ?

Your made sure your battery is charged?
If the jig isn't working and you get no response from your phone at all then a JTAG/riftbox might be your only option.

1) Use Jig to get downloadmode
If it's works just flash a rom / firmware using odin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
2) when jig isn't help you and can't get in to downloadmode
remove your battery and put it again and open odin and connect your data cable to phone
Some times odin will get your phone with "Firmware upgrade fail!" ..
If your phone get into odin ( yellow signal ) make it fast and flash any bootloader file using it ( that compatible to captivate )...
after that you can go to downloadmode using Jig
3) If this not work try removing battery and pushing vol. keys and connect your phone with cable ..
In this sometimes your phone will get into odin .. flash a bootloader file using odin
Try 3rd step over 20 times there is a chance .. ( there is no other way to do this except that JTAG/riftbox .. i never want to try this )
I did this over 100 times and last my phone recognized by computer ..
But phone will not show any downloadmode symbol this will connect with that "Firmware upgrade fail!" screen ..
This is all i did
I hope any one will help this
Thanks every one who helped me

[Q] I9000 dead since flash

Hi,
I made a mistake in flashing PDA file of my i9000. The flash stopped after 19 seconds, it was too fast.
About my Galaxy S:
Power button : nothing happen
Download mode : nothing happen
Battery removed/inserted : nothing happen
To resume, whatever I do, screen keep staying black. Nothing display.
Is there anything I can do?
1. USB Jig with a 300K resistor : useless or not?
2. Send it to someone with a RIFF box : useless or not?
Thank you
Weird, usually the SGS is practically un-brickable. I've personally done it tons of flashing to it sometimes with catastrophic results but it always bounced back.
Try sticking ur charger in and let it sit like that for a while. Then try to start the phone. I really doubt bad flashing can fry it. If you get a boot-loop while the screen is blinking release the power button from the starting 3 button combo ( power+down+home) and it should enter download mode.
1. Are you able to charge the phone?? Yes or No
2. What PDA file did you flash? What were you trying to flash?
3. What all things you checked/unchecked in ODIN before pressing the start button to flash?
4. What FW were you on??

3. Re-partition/Auto Reboot/F.Reset time checked

Screen stay empty whatever I do, no reaction from the phone.
Get a USB jig. It does wonders most of the time when you think your device is bricked.
USB JIG works fine every time

Re-partition was checked, but did you select a pit file?
If not, that's likely the issue.
USB jigs work great. I bought a couple pre-built ones from Hong Kong just in case I bugger something up.
Huh, was not aware of these USB jigs till this thread. Will definitely be buying one as I flash a new ROM each 3 or 4 days (addiction).

If you are 100% sure you cannot enter download mode you really have a problem. Did you try checking the battery? And if you are 100% sure - search the forum, there's some posts about using a JIG to fix it, but most seem to have gone back to Samsung afaik...

Try removing the battery and charge cable for a while (at least 30 minutes or so). I've not heard this happened before... and try charging with another cable and/or with another charger (for instance a laptop or some other usb device)...

Yes, that's the problem. I'm very sorry to tell you but you just destroyed your phone's boot.img by installing wrong one. And the wrong boot.img wont let you do anything on your phone. There's no way you could enter to recovery or download mode or anything.

Your phone is kind of dead now. You can't push a boot image to it 'cause computer doesn't recognize it properly. Bricked means your phone is just as useful as a brick. It wont turn on in any way and there's nothing else your phone would do.
The JIG costs only 2$ , if that doesn't get u into download mod then u can only revive ur phone with JTAG .
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda premium
Any details about this 2 methods???
JIG on ebay...
http://www.ebay.pl/itm/USB-JIG-Dongle-unbrick-reset-mod-ROM-para-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-II-2-S2-i9100-ESPANA-/260928351223?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_186&hash=item3cc08aabf7
My advice is go see if u can repair it for free (warranty) , if not u can try the JIG to get u into download mode so u can flash via Odin (there are a lot of clips about JIGs on youtube) , if all that doesn't work JTAG is ur only hope (also there are videos about it on youtube).

Better Soluction
It ocurred me and I go to Movistar Shop and I said that it doesn't boot and I don't know anything and they give me another one with the guarantee.
Try and if not try with JIG ,
me 2, think you installed the wrong rom on the wrong phone..MIUEI rom is not out for the GT I9001, when i bricked my phone =1 medecin= www.broodplank.net (and check how to unbrick your I9001-article)
As the partition layout and even the filesystem is totally different I think you wiped away your bootloader and maybe also radio firmware. If this is your actual situation, it is ver very VERY unlikely you will get your phone alive with a jig. Don't know the partition layout of a 9000 but even the hardware is completely different. Not nucb hope left, very sorry.

OK so try plugging the phone into computer and see if Odin recognizes the phone. I've had problems like that where you have no recovery or dl mode and that usually works for me. Try to turn your phone on before you plug it in. Hopefully this helps. Hit thanks if it does.

[Q] Severly bricked phone! what to do?

A friend of mine came forward with a bricked phone and asked me to fix it. It could not boot into android nor enter recovery mode (it just stays there infinitely).
I figured the last resort would be to use odin mode and flashing the stock rom so I did a little search an came up with this article.
But when I tried to flash the stock image there was an error in the process. You can seen a screenshot of the result down below.
Now I have no idea what to do next!!!

I still doubt it bricked or not
Once try this
Find first line on my sign for note 1 and go to post #2
Get kl3 India rom (installation instructions there)
Before flashing that rom make sure
-un install kies, and install usb driver (find from toolbox on my sign)
-close firewall, anti virus
-use different usb port, don't use any extension cable
-download pit file from toolbox on my signature and select for pit (don't unchecked re-Partition, it will auto select once you add pit)
And select tar file for pda
And flash
If it is successful then wipe cache and data from recovery.

I got some questions. Should I flash the PIT file before flashing the ROM or just along with it?
And here is a picture of the bricked device when I attend to enter recovery by pressing (Vol Up + Home + Power). Same thing happens when trying normal boot.
Flash both kl3 and pit file at the same time.

I got some questions. Should I flash the PIT file before flashing the ROM or just along with it?
And here is a picture of the bricked device when I attend to enter recovery by pressing (Vol Up + Home + Power). Same thing happens when trying normal boot.

Looking at the image as per my knowledge its only failed to flash firmware n its lik half dobe.
Samething once happened to my frnds phone while flashing through odin.
It failed n once restarted same screen came up.
Try restarting yr phone normally once. then wether it puts on or not.
Remove battery insert n press power button n remove it n then put it again and
This time try to enter download mode n then follow dr.ketan method of flashing stock rom via pc odin as it is told.
I hope yr phone will get back n pass the flashing.

Thanks, I hope you're right.
I'm in middle of flashing the stock ROM. I just wonder how long should it take? It's about 20 minutes it's stuck on flashing factoryfs, img!

I guess you were right. It's not progressing any further.
Any tip to identify the kind of brick? Is it the emmc brick everyone's been talking about?

Since you find it too difficult to deal with the who pit thread then there are two options below"
1. if can get warranty, try to seek help from SS
2. If not should try to flash this custom pit file, together with GB rom. Then restart in recovery, format cache, data (same as factory reset) and usbstorage (internal sdcard). This PIT will repartition (make sure repartition is ticked in odin) emmc and you will lose about 3gb internal sdcard.

see how it goes.

Thanks forest, I was skimming you're thread on reviving emmc bricked devices and I must say that I'm not unfamiliar with command line as I am a Linuxer.
I will try the PIT file and I hope it works cause I don't really have time to meddle with partitions manually.

About Month ago, I installed Kitkat Mod, working normally, (some little bugs. e.g Phone name I9070 replaced I9070P - My phone is I9070)
I had rooted also... well... yesterday, suddenly phone hang up, I restarted phone and voila! It began to boot up by flashing the normal samsung galaxy s advance screen, but it continually flashes over and over and wont start. I tried everithig - custom rom, stock rom (may be same), f**king room, everithing tried many times, but it continually flashes sumsung logo again... and it goes only download mode... (using Vol down+Home+Power) Vol Up+Home+Power not working to go in recovery mode... also wont work "vol up+down and plug in" (i searched and founded it in google). this is my problem... please help me anybody... what can I do?
---
my english is like my phone' condition... sorry about it...
Did you try it to flash stock Jelly Bean?
If you can enter ONLY in download mode, that is the single solution, before Service Center.

Write filename of that firmware that you use. Whole filename, like I9070XXLQB_I9070OXXLQB_HOME.tar.md5

I went from XXLQ4 to this that I use now. You will not have a problem by using this version.
http://d-h.st/36o
Download and try with it. So your volume up key is fine? When you get in download mode you hit it to enter in it?
And after installation in Odin - it goes to recovery to finish installation? Do you see that Android with open stomach?
Similar to this, maybe it is on the other side...

If he still cant boot / go in recovery with firmware which you gave him, is possible to extract stock jb (.tar),put cocore kernel (version with recovery) then make it .tar again and flash in odin? I think will work and he will be able to go in recovery.

Yes, but it will increase binary counter. If he has warranty. Sounds like there is something wrong with kernel partition... Installation does not go to recovery after finishing steps in Download mode.

I found some previous version of CoCore for JB (can't remember version) I made before. @nutuprofe can try with it. But again, if it fails - he can't reset binary counter if he can't boot...
thanks guys for help... i'll try again
my odin version is 3.07... but when i was at work, in my work pc i had 1.3 & 1.7 versions and i tried here too and no result... odin isnt problem...
@shut_down - i never give my phone to Service Center, as i think i can solve it and if i cant, service center cant too because i know our service center opportunity (may be it right word )
