I ordered this Acesoft 3960 mah battery from here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390499613512&ssPageName=ADME:L:eek:U:US:3160
It may only be 3100 mah (or less) but I thought I would give it a try just in case I could gain some mah's and not change my case. I'm skeptical like most of us tend to be about battery claims.
The charger is cheap, states 800mah. I'm not convinced it's putting that much out. The little plastic parts broke off that hold the battery in place. The battery itself had two small dents. We are not off to a great start.
I charged it up last night on AC and in the phone, and with the phone off, and have it running today.
I'll post some more stats later today and you guys can comment if it looks like 3960mah to you, or just another exaggerated claim.
Here's what it's showing at 4 hours.
Looks pretty decent. Please keep us updated. Especially after a several charge cycles, to let the battery break in.

Been streaming for 8 hours now.
Can you keep updating this for the next couple days? and does this batt charge completely while in the phone? and does it fit with the oem back door? Thanks.
So far this looks promising.

Yes, fits OEM stock battery cover. That's why I was interested in the first place.
It charges fine on AC using the Samsung charger. USB? I don't know, might take a long time.
It ran for 1.5 hours and was still at 90% at 3.5 hours it was at 85%.
looks interesting. thanks for keeping us posted.
Do you find this battery better than the stock battery?

So i'm not sure what to think of your battery life. I have 78% left with 7.5 hours on and 1.75 hours on screen. My screen usage is only 33% of 22% which means roughly 7% total of my battery used there was consumed by my screen. Notice that the main program using the battery was Verbs, not sure why it's called that but it's ePSXe (PSX emulator). Your battery on the other hand was on for 4 hours and used 18% battery with your main usage being your screen at 48% running only for 56 minutes. About 9% of your total battery was consumed by your screen within 56 minutes as your screen was the primary source of draining power. My phone with the Onite battery (stock door) lasted 1 hour and 48 minutes only consuming 7% of the total battery usage.
Hopefully your battery improves with a few more charges.
Please keep us updated sounds very interesting.
Thanks
John

I'm not sure what to make of it either other than to say 12 hours of streaming music on a single charge sounds good to me. ( pardon the pun) My S2 wasn't even good for 4 hours doing the exact same thing and that much I am sure about.
If nothing else, I figure I have a spare 3100, maybe more.

Yeah no question that the battery is legit, just a matter of capacity. Download Battery stats and let that crunch some battery stats for you.
Duplicate post.
Doesn't look like I gained anything over yesterday. Doing about the same thing this morning as yesterday and my percent of use is about the same at the same time period. At 4 hours, it's down to 80% both days.
Here is battery Stats plus at 4 hours.
Nothing was gained yesterday at all. 12 hours almost to the minute both days so apparently cycling had no effect.
I can wrap this up now after testing stock against this battery.
It's no better than stock but no worse than stock either.
For the extra price you don't gain anything at all and cycling didn't change anything either. The wall charger is cheap and is not a full 2amp.
Now we know.

EDIT: It's here!

It appears to be OEM, and is gonna be much cheaper than the crap out now.
My main issue, what cases are gonna fit around this nicely?
I don't want it to be a fatso.. Then theres also the issue of heat, considering the larger battery and a case on top.
Thoughts?
I see at the bottom of the page they are suggesting to buy the brackettron car mount.
Does that mean the official car dock won't fit with this higher back and battery?
I really want the bigger battery, seems i'll have to get a new dock too.
Correct, the phone will be too big to fit the official car dock with a extended battery on it.
What I recommend is buying the battery and holding off on the car dock. Is the battery gonna make THAT much of a difference? Really?
It comes out on July the 6th... your post says June... just fyi
They better make a rubberized case for that thing.
Thanks for the info, but think I'll wait for the Seidio 3500mAh

After reading the thorough comparisons of OEM and aftermarket batteries in the N1 forum (by user dougie i believe?)
I thought it would be a better idea to wait for an HTC extended battery.
Save money, and guaranteed quality.
I haven't tried seidio products so I can't say they are bad, but i'd trust HTC over them anyday.

I've used their cases and extended cap batts on BlackBerries and, now, on my DINC. Probably had 6 extended caps on BlackBerrys, and their holsters are the only ones I'll use - nothing but the best quality and design.
As for the extended cap batts, they perform the way I'd expect them to. I've had not difficulties with them, nor have I experienced anything that would keep me from continuing to buy their product in the future. The only "downside" is that yes, they tend to be on the pricier side but, again, worth it. Just my opinion and experience though.

Now you tell me about the new 3500 Mah battery.

Like with any battery, you need to condition it first. It needs to go through 3 or so full battery cycles (completely charged to completely dead) to get to its full potential. If you did not do this, then you are not getting accurate results. I received this battery Monday, and its just now getting to its full potential. I've gone 2 full days without charging on normal use and one time I just laid it all out turning bluetooth on, GPS, leaving wifi tether on (even though I wasn't always using it), had all my accounts syncing every hour, and left an irc chat open in the background and still got well over a day of use.
Lithium ion batteries don't need to be cycled this will do nothing for battery life. Nickle cadmium on the other hand does need cycling.

Dozens of members and thread posts would disagree. And mine has increased every cycle since I've got it.
I don't know about conditioning.
My first charge I got over 28 hours out of it till 14% warning came on. Then 5 more hours till it came down to 10% battery left.
GPS, WiFi always on. and over 5 hours of talk time with that first charge. Something's wrong with your situation. Check all apps.
PS. I have Task Killer, but it ONLY runs when I tell it to kill apps manually. And I manually select the app to kill each time. (easier than going into settings>applications>yada yada). ATK does not run on its own on my phone.
---
2nd charge on my battery.
GPS, WiFi always on
Bluetooth Off
About 1.5 hours of total talk time today.
13:01 uptime
2:49 awake time
Voice Calls 27%
Cell Standby 21%
Phone Idle 19%
Wi-Fi 13%
Android System 12%
Dialer 4%
Display 4%
67% battery left
I'm on track to gettig another 28 hours of phone being "on" till next charge, if not more.
Well just ordered one since my 1750 is not holding up like when I first got it...

Ordered the 3500 Mah today and found out that Verizon will take the 2150 back as long as it is within the 30 days. I am trying the cycling and what I see happening is that the longer I own the phone the less I am looking at every item and spending time looking for Apps. This in turn means the screen is on less time and so the battery life is becoming longer.
I am pretty impressed with the 2150. After 36 hours .. comprised of slightly above moderate usage during the day time.. I got about 21% left. GPS and Bluetooth were always left on.. used navigation for about 30 mins a day.

Mkk members may disagree but it is hard to disagree with facts which in this case full discharge and recharge is considered a placebo effect. Due to the fact that "lithium-ion is memory-free in terms of performance deterioration but many batteries have fuel gauges." Aka "digital memory" what this does is reports to your phone how much estimated charge you have left.

This thing is amazing! Last night I finally let my phone just die and charge fully. This morning I unplugged it and started using it. I actually thought it wasn't reading the battery stats correctly because it was stuck on 100%. So i started using the GPS, Bluetooth etc... Finally after 3:45 up time and 1 hour awake I dropped from 100% to 99%. I am now at 4:15 up time and 1 :15 awake and at 95% and have been listening to a podcast for the past 20 minutes.
SOOOOO much better than the stock battery.
BTW - running Skyraider 3.1 RC3 with Kingx #4 kernel. Set CPU set to 998 max and screen off to 245-384.
the first time i used it i had 90 hours up time and 17 awake. This thing is crazy!

I just recieved my battery from Verizon yesterday. Dumb Fedex didnt leave the note on the door so i had to wait an extra three days. Anyway i charged last night bump charged this morning which took 1.5hrs WOW. One phone call and I'm down to 99% already. I will let the battery get down to 5% then recharge and bump charge i will do this two times and see what kinda battery life i get. For the size difference it better be really good. It definetly took away the slim line look. But as much as i use my phone i hate being constantly hooked to a charger.

You can get used to the extra bulk quickly. I love this extended battery. I can use as much as I want during the day and charge at night.
I received this battery yesterday. I put it in my Incredible and it said there was like %40 of charge. I then turned my phone off and charged it for like an hour or so. I turned the phone on and saw it charged to about 97%. I sat there and watched the battery drain super fast. I mean, 1 minute it would go down like 1-3 %. I was like WTF?? I'm running CM6 and setCPU. Do you all think I need a new kernel? I was going to try a different ROM, but this battery shouldn't be draining this fast should it?
What are the proper step the charging a new battery? Does it really have to be charged for 8-12hrs? If so, I can buy a external charger and let it sit overnight.
Any thoughts?
Dude, it does that quick few % drainage no matter what you're running.
wow is all i have to say, i just got the 2150mAh, with the original battery normally i unplug @ 8am and dead by 4ish pm, it is now 1030pm i have 37% and ive been using my phone a fair amount today, this battery is amazing
added bulk doesnt bother me.......
but if i can find a nice oem 1500 or 1800mah battery id like comparisons as well
plus the 3500mah on ebay
I had the Acase 3500mah battery, and it was awful. I got much better life out of the stock 1300 that came with the dinc. I have a couple of the OEM 1800mah coming early this week. I'll post back with my impressions.
where did you order them
I have the 2150..1800 from chichitec on eBay and of course..the stock. The 1800 is nice but I can't go a whole day (I am somewhat of a heavy user). The 2150 is my everyday battery...I can easily go nearly 2 days and I like the added bulk! As for the stock battery...I don't even know where it is. Running Athena withstock kernal

Gives me SUPER battery life now.
It's like sex compared to stock.
bulk is one thing but actually looking ugly is another. I bought it about 5 months ago, used it for a few hours, and it sits in my closet in the exact same place i left it. Its just not a good design. I recommend the 1800mah INC/Evo battery, its $19.99. Im using this and Lou's #8 or #9 and am getting the best batt life ever.
Got my 1800's. Charging one in the wall charger that came with it, to make sure it gets a full charge. Then, I'll throw it in my dinc, clear the batt stats and condition it throughout the week. I'll have a final verdict by the weekend, I hope.

I have the 2150 OEM battery and it's really great. I also like the extra bulk, and with a red hard rubber case from this place:
http://htcpedia.com/news/case-cover-htc-droid-incredible-extended-batteryc.html
It looks really nice with the case, I can hold it easier, still slides right into my pocket and have absolutely no complaints about the upgrade.
With the case I find myself not accidentally touching the volume buttons on the side also.
So far my best battery life has been 86 hours with this battery, but since then I've upgraded my ROM and Kernel, so I'm in the process of doing a another test without a charge until it dies.
So far: 2days, 19hours with 49% left - so things are looking good
3 days of idle time. That's not really a good judge of battery life.

not entirely. 3G, GPS and location are all on. I've spent a good 45 minutes texting, 30 for calls, 10 minutes playing angry birds and 15 on nav.
Not normal usage but I'm wanting to see how long it can go with light use.
Normal use I'll end the day with a good 50-60% left depending how long I run the GPS on My Tracks and Pandora streaming.
With screen off it's somewhere around 1-2 hours per %.
Battery life depends heavily on use. I get just about 24 hrs +/- on my 2150 on a normal day. The more I use the less it lasts. The less I use the longer it goes. That's whyI say its hard to judge battery life. So when I see you're getting 2+ days, I automatically think idle time. Same with my 1500. I can easily pull off 24 hrs with limited use and 2 nights of sleep in the equation.

That's true. Services like 3G, GPS as well as ROM type and especially Kernel type impact battery life pretty hard too as I'm sure you know.
It's hard to judge life off of other peoples estimates, I always take other peoples estimate on battery life lightly because of all the variables included, not to mention they could have left out a few major details that impacted the life of the charge.
I'm just putting my results out there though, it's nice to know if I get stuck somewhere without a charger that my phone will be able to last that long if I can remind myself not to constantly use it to stream music or watch videos lol

Yeah it does. I always keep WiFi on (whether it's connected or not) GPS, and location settings. Data sync I toggle manually because that can shorten your battery even more.
Kernel settings are the most important. I have my phone set to 128MHz when the screen is off and a min of 245MHz when it's on (Smartass settings).
I purchased the 3500 extended battery about 4 months ago. It was a great battery. It lasted me all day & then some off a single charge. Now it's not lasting as long as it used to. I'm having to charge in the middle of the day now. I put my original OEM battery in, & I'm getting better performance from it than with the 3500 battery now.
Anyone else experiencing less than stellar performance from the 3500 battery after having it for 4 months or longer?

I have the 2150 OEM, I can only suspect some reasons why
1) Cheap battery that does not hold charges well
2) You are draining the battery down to 0% a lot, killing the ability for it to keep a charge
3) Your phone is not calibrated properly so it shows it is charged to 100% but in fact it may have only charged it much lower

1) It's a Seidio brand, not some knock off, so it should be of good quality. It's been working fine up until the past month or so. I've had it for over 4 months now.
2) I've never drained the battery down to 0%. Contacted Seidio and they suggested that I let it drain to 0% for the next 4 to 5 charges, along with charging it an additional 2-3 hours after a complete charge. I'll see if that helps.
3) I've always had to bump charge it. It helps in making it last longer.
I don't think bump charging is helping the longevity of your battery. Not saying it doesn't last longer on a charge, but that it isn't good for the battery's overall lifespan.

Draining all the way down and overcharging it are the biggest ways to kill it off. The Seideo and most other batteries I think have a fail-safe for draining it all the way down, cutting it off early before it actually does.
This article is pretty helpful about your battery, if you haven't had the chance to read it, it may benefit you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871051
Bump charging did it.....
Where's ma rosie at?
I have been using the 3500 for about the same length of time you have been. I haven't really noticed a drop off in performance. Maybe a very slight drop off.. not much though. Still could get 2-3 days use on one charge if I wanted to.
I have the same issue with my 3500. I will try to re-calibrate it.
4 months seems to be pretty quick for a decline in performance like that. I would press Seideo to replace it.
You can try resetting the cells to how they were when it was brand new. All you have to do is completely deplete the battery of all charge (so it wont even turn on) then short it out with 3x the voltage (a 9v battery should work, make sure to keep the polarity the same) and fully charge it again, then it will be like new!
My dad (who is an electrician) found a guide for this on ebay and bought it just for the hell of it to see if it worked. We tried it on a battery I had for an LG VX8300 I had at the time and it worked beautifully, I've been doing it ever since!
I have no idea how this works, all I know is that it just does.

When ever you get a new battery you must condition it, exactly as sedio said full charge it, then drain fully 5 times. It makes the battery last much longer

I got some 3,500mAh cheapies off ebay about 6 months ago and they are holding up just fine. I always run mine down to about 5% then fully charge. I bump charge them about once a month.
Well of course... After I'm pimping how great these batteries are, one quit working! My phone would just shut off with a light tap against something so I pulled the black sticker off of the battery, pulled it all apart, found the loose connection, bent the tab to make better contact, and put it all back together. All is good again.
I recently purchased this same battery read tons of good reviews not sure how i feel about the bump charging after reading the article that was within this thread but all in all it is a giant leap beyond the stock battery now if i could just find a case that would fit around it
To the OP. If youre running a kernel with SBC (Superior battery charging [trickle charging] w/e you wanna call it) they're known to reduce your battery life. also you may wanna charge the battery to 100% then wipe the battery stats on your phone.
I have the same battery and I've found that the phone has trouble reporting the percentage correctly. It tends to make jumps of about 5-10% instead of a steady decline. I switched to the original battery and it did not have this problem. I've also noticed that clearing battery stats several times helps (most of the time). As far as bump charging goes, it's perfectly fine to bump charge these batteries. The worst thing you can do to them is discharge them all the way.
Clearing the stats and cycling the battery through the phone a few times should fix that. It does that (big percentage jumps) when it's poorly calibrated.

I second this. I have the same battery and its been off a few times. Battery stats get weird sometimes. It's certainly a better battery than the cheap Chinese batteries HTC uses.
If you have a Revolution you must get the 2900 mAh Lithium Battery.
I am a moderate low user running GingerVolt V1.2. I unplug my phone at 6AM and go to work. I talk for about an 1hr/day, surf the net, email, game for 1hr/day. I pass a 4G area on the way to work but for the most part I am strictly 3G with LTE on. I used to get 9-10 HRs before my phone would die.
I bought my 2900 mAh battery from the verizon store. My phone has been unplugged for 1 Day 15 Hrs with 25% battery left!!! I could go 2 Days but that would be pushing it.
The extended battery is bulky and does make the phone a bit heavier but I think I have a better grip of it now. The protrusion seems to be a good finger wedge. Furthermore, I really didn't feel a difference while my phone was in my pocket.
Overall I fell in love with my phone again. I can be free of the power cord longer than you.

I got that once with stock battery but that was me sending like 3 texts and other than that not touching my phone
is it worth $50 though
Downside is that my case doesn't fit anymore. But, the battery makes the phone fit the holster without the case. Sure do miss the protection the case would give though... One drop that breaks the phone would make me regret having the battery instead of the case...

Agreed.. It fits in the holster but does not fit well and has a tendency to fall out. I saw at a VZW store that they had the same holster/case I use (with the kickstand) for the Bionic, and it says it fit with extended battery. Dang it. I want that for our Revo!!

I paid $27.18 total. I got a 25 dollar discount somehow at checkout and I got free 2 day shipping. I didn't do anything special or login or do coupons.
I got the same discount in a VZW corporate store when it rang up. Despite the size and weight, it's nice not worrying about power all day.

I've had the extended battery 3 days longer than I've had the phone. I used to keep it and a standard battery fully charged but the extended worked so well I put the standard away. When I have strong a strong signal I can use the internet for hours and see only a minimal decrease. Its well worth the money.

I have the extended life battery from Verizon. Says 3000mAh and I can proudly say that with moderate/heavy use, I get about 12-14 hours. Less that moderate/light use and I get about 25-27 hours.
for those still wanting this battery, I got one from Verizon at Half off due to a promotion. Apparently all batteries for 4G devices are 50% of until the end of march.
I got the extended battery and I'm getting about 7-8 hr of use.. but I'm using very heavy use. Like wifi tether. Texting all day. YouTube. Internet. Extended battery is awesome

Thanks for the info! I can confirm, just placed an order for mine, $25 plus tax. Doesn't appear to be a discount on all batteries for all phones, but ours is good.

You won't be disappointed!
I got this about a week ago and I absolutely love it, but has anyone noticed it takes like 6-7 hours to recharge from dead. It seems extraordinarily long.
Also it charges really slow, before you could see it charge 20% in like 45-60 minutes, now it does like 7% in an hour.
Still totally worth it as long as you have a plug in each night, you'll never go dead.
I also have the extended battery. Despite popular opinion I like the shape of it better! It actually fits in my hand now lol.
Anyway so far my battery lifetime hasn't seen a significant improvement, (went to sleep last night with it at 62% and this morning it was dead and didn't wake me up)!
It's only been a few days though maybe it will improve with time...
Edit: Mine also takes FOREVER to charge up... Once it got stuck at 75% and would charge no further, but unplugging and re-plugging it made it charge the rest of the way.

I turn off data and wifi and that seems to take care of it.

Mine takes a while to charge too, if I charge it from about 5-10%, 5 hours still won't charge it to 100%

I agree, airplane mode and make sure the screen is off(I have mine on at all times when plugged in, mainly for work), and it'll charge much faster, plus your alarm will still work.
Just got the extended battery an it lasted 23hrs.
I've been Supercharged and Gingervolted!
Day 1 With extended battery!!!
Hey just got my battery yesterday and am going to see how well it holds up I am a heavy user. Stock I only got about 3hrs out of original battery! Lets see how it goes!!
