ICS font for JB ivendor alpha5. - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, how can i revert to ICS font ? i like it better because of the bold. JB one is way to thin and on white background it looks like it's fading or not clear.

could you guys please stop spamming questions on the development thread? im sick of it. even those old roms are left behind. even this question is not that urgent or important

Yeah then make a damn i9001 questions CATEGORY or make our own category.
Where do you want me to post ? in i9000 category where nobody will see my post ?

Is this developement related or should this be in the QA section? I do think it belongs in the QA section. Next time post in the correct section or post will get reported as spam lol
1. Search dude. This is one of the most obvious questions I've ever seen asked here.
2. Read around the forums before posting, that goes hand-in-hand with searching...
3. Post in the right friggin' section. You have a [Q] in your tread title which means it's a question, which is fine, but its not a "Captivate Android Development" question! It belongs in the Question and Answer section. (which is amazingly obvious, it's not like they hide it from you around here)
4. The answer to your question is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989 which you didn't even need to search to find, its on the first page of the Development section which I know you looked in because you posted here.
*sigh*
The kid has two posts total. He is obviously new to the forums. So stop just repeating what everyone says. He doesn't need four people to tell him its a question and should be in the Q&A section. Don't act like its outrageous for a beginner to do something like ask a question in the development section, LIKE OMFG JESUS!! Sick of the clutter from all the questions yea, but also sick of reading all the bash posts towards people that are fresh to the forums. You were once a noob too!

No, we shouldn't. Threads like these impair actual threads that get pushed to page two.

I have to agree with this 100%. When I first started I didn't even realize I could search the forums or threads. Instead of someone pointing out to me there was search and explain how it works I was unbelievably verbally beaten to a bloody pulp about what an idiot I was. Even today I was taken to task for a post that cites a measure of rom's performance instead of the accepted evaluations we see day in and day out-fantastic, great, best, unbelievably fast. To me the true evaluation of a rom has to be functionality and some measure. If you do not think Quadrant scores, net speed tests and Lin pack scores measure performance tell me what does. I understand e mail works, videos play, I can make phone calls etc. That tells me how the rom functions. How do you measure a rom's performance other than to say fantastic, great, good etc.? Tell me.
All the "this is in the wrong forum, dude" posts are not about development either, so you're all off topic.
Spend less time bashing, and more time helping the new forum members.
The internet doesn't need more assholes, just more manners and good examples.

So just because someone is new to the forums we give them some leeway because they can't READ? Seriously guys it doesn't matter how new you are, if you have a question, put it in the Question and Answers thread. Almost every website has a search function, they aren't hard to find, so that excuse of "I didn't know" is pretty bogus.

just because they are new we are supposed to let them fill the wrong forums up with clutter that they could have easily found by a simple browse around or search?
no.
thats not how it should be handled.
gimme gimme gimme! just doesnt sit well with me.
How hard is it for a moderator to do their job and move the thread to Q & A or to delete it?? If they did you guys would have no argument that it "pushes" the other threads to page two. I still don't get it......Seems to me like ppl are making a big deal out of nothing.

when you are reading these forums every day trying to see whats going on in the dev world, all you see on the front page are [Q] threads, posted in the wrong section. then we have to filter out all the BS and try to find useful info, when it should be right there, easily accessible, which is the point of breaking up the sections of the forums....
it's clutter
and the mods do a good job of moving them, but the n00bs come in here and post the BS so fast, its impossible to keep up.

I find it organized just fine and find whatever I need in the sections it is posted under. Another problem is that you expect everything you need to be separately posted without having to look for it. In fact, I find requests like yours interesting, considering the overall number of posts by you....

Hey there, ther should only be ROM dev going on here. Rom Probs should be asked in the appropriate thread. I also move all other generic Q's to Q&A , but your right, the forum does need cleaning as i've been away for a few weeks
If you have any other issues, feel free to contact me.
Oh, and moved to general

Roms

Would someone care to reference the difference between all the roms? JVS etc every week that I come on here I have to search what the new rom letters mean. Maybe you can make a sticky making it easier for everyone?
This thread is not going to end well.
I don't really care, they sticky everything so why not what roms are for our phones and what ones are ported. Also what order the came out in. Im done with the captivate this weekend anyway, its only a suggestion.
First, id say what your looking for is already clearly available. 2nd, id say this should be in the development section.

http://www.sammobile.com/threads/36-Samsung-Letter-Code. This is good with i897, but I'm still not sure about the i9000 rom lettering system, i.e JVT = ??
You may have to register and login to see this, not sure though. Hope it helps anyway.

I'll get straight to the point....
Despite stickys and forum announcements most of us are still finding ourselves becoming terribly, terribly vexed at the amount of [Q]'s cluttering the dev section...
Therefore, from now on, if you do not follow the rules outlined below, you will be infracted. Break them again and you may find yourself unable to post anything at all on any forum!!
If you cannot read and abide by the simple rules in this sticky then I dont know how you're going to manage to hack your device without running into trouble.
The Dev section is NOT for asking questions.....
The Dev section is NOT for general topics..........
All threads posted MUST be prefixed with a description of the thread, [ROM] / [Kernel] etc etc.....*
*(Not planning on being particuarly strict on this. You guys (the devs), know how to title a thread.... just a pointer for new devs.)
Basically, unless your thread is to actually release something or discuss something of a very technical and n00b unfriendly nature, it doesnt belong here!
Pretty simple really.....
If you see something that shouldnt be here then PM me....
I will try to check in as reguarly as I can but I have a few sections to keep an eye on and believe it or not, a life outside XDA

I read a post on CWM, and thought there was something I could do to get more out of the Phone. anyway thanks :good:
I'm not the person who seems to think that questions should be posted in the 'General' forum, rather than in the 'QUESTIONS & ANSWERS' forum.
I'm not the person who is incapable of reading the forum rules before asking questions.

If you had bothered to follow that first rule of XDA then it would have taken you less than 5 minutes to realise how stupid and pointless the questions were. If you don't like the answer I gave, then next time SEARCH and READ before deciding to post a question.

if that option existed, the developer section would not be missing all the links to custom roms
you can add some hacks and play around with some workarounds, but only a semi alpha rom exists which is for development only. and hoping others could find interest in how i made to create new roms with locked bootloader if possible.

[Q] Questions about ThinkingBridge rom

Hi, sorry if the answers are in the thread but I just read the first post of each thread...
1 - how to turn off the soft key's light when the screen is on ?
2 - where is the ThinkingBridge Launcher ?
Thanks ^^

Don't expect to get an answer then.
You kidding ? The first post has to be explicit about the features, you say ThinkingBridge Launcher and there is nothing in the rom. I don't care if the Nexus 5's version got the launcher, moreover the bootanimation in the video is missing too.
And about the softkeys, i'm not gonna read all the thread without knowing if the answer is inside, there is a Q&A section so I use it and dont talk to me like a **** because you're a developper. I appreciate your work but your work is to answer questions too.

Everything that's in the first post is present in the rom. I can do nothing if you remove the built-in launcher when installing GApps containing GEL.
And about the softkeys, there is a second post written by me about all the bugs and fixes known. Not that hard to read a few lines and you wouldn't have a question.
@Emin3ms, did you know that you are violating the Forum Rules?

Especially if the question you have asked is already answered in the OP (yes, even though it's the 2nd post, it's still the OP)
Furthermore, you don't have to pay for anything, everything on XDA is done for free, which means you have no right whatsoever to demand anything. Every dev can write whatever he wants (as long as it's within the rules) in his OP, but as far as I can see, @Adam77Root included everything necessary, even workarounds.
