What app can read and edit openoffice.org files - Galaxy Tab 2 Themes and Apps

I use openoffice.org on the laptop and would like to use the files on the GT w/o converting them to microsoft office formats. Any one know of a free office app that will read openoffice.org formats?

I use OpenDocument Reader.

Google is your friend. To make it even easier I have included the actual hyperlink used to search.

Thank you I appreciate you all think I'm an idiot that has not done this search. But this only shows "readers" ..I was asking the community about an app that you can EDIT the openoffice.org docs not just read them

Not trying to be offensive... if you already searched for it you should mention that... too many people don't use Google at all
All I can find as well is a reader. You could try Google docs, IIRC it does open office and I think the latest version's pretty good... other than that I think you're out luck...
Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2

Try to convert the docs using an app in android and then edit them with something like quick office or kingsoft office

I JUST installed this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=at.tomtasche.reader
and, yes, they say you can't alter the docs, but maybe that will happen eventually. Anyway, I figured you might just want to know about it

*edit* it works pretty well, i dont like having to find the vogue forun every time i boot it up though
Do you plan on releasing the source of this app? I had a project I was working on for a forum, but ran into some issues. Some example coding would definitely be nice.
Very nice but no way to bookmark forums = no good for me
I love it! ill use it when I can't get to a computer. Very good for show off threads because it takes 1 less step to upload pics!

[MOD] ADBlock (advertisement)

Hi guys,
this is my first post in Nexus S section. Wildfire is my previous device.
This is an ADblock file that will block almost all annoying advertisement (except those app made by Chinese from China [it do block, but not all]) in your app and browser as well.
Advantages
Free at all, does not use system service, update is not required.
Attachments
HOST.zip: Updated on June 2011
HOST1.zip: Updated on June 2010 (try this one if the first one doesn't block some of your app ads.)
Instruction:
1. Unzip the file and you will get a file named HOSTS.
2. Copy and paste the HOSTS via root explorer to system/etc.
3. Reboot system, and open an app with advertisement and you will see the advertisement is blocked.
Thanks for viewing.
Please hit a "Thanks" if you like it!
Would this work on sgs miui as well?

This script blocked ads from 21k site. It is like windows, they built in the feature but lack of ad block file.
I checked root tools from market, it doesn't block much of the site. It is paid app..
Adfree use service, this doesnt. If you use task killer, it wont kill.

LOL Melvin, at it again i see, so where did your wildfire go now?
Oh and to answer your question ... i didn't bother to update my flashable hosts file for the new recovery... cause tbh i don't really care about ads anymore xD (also including laziness)
Oh and i don't think the boot.img has anything to do with the camera recording (not that i know of course)

No one here uses adblock we all use "adfree" which is free and does EVERYTHING.
Personally, I have recently decided to keep the ads. They are the sole reason we have some quality games especially free ones. Its not like we are in abundance with android app developers, if simply having a small ad will keep them going, please support them.

Toshiba Thrive Apps?

Hey all,
was wondering if anyone has a thrive rom dump? has some interesting sounding apps that would be awesome if we could get them over to the xoom, such as:
Perhaps our favorite app -- second only, perhaps, to File Manager -- is PrinterShare, an app that allows you to find nearby printers and print documents, photos, and webpages over WiFi. We fell in love as much with its ease of use as its utility. Just open the app, select an application from which you might want to print something, and then find a list of printable documents (or, in the case of the Gmail app, messages). We wish every tab came with something like this out of the box.

edit: nvm - mods delete if you want, couldn't find a thrive section, but just did a search, :fail: on my part sorry
you found it then? Could you post it?
Printershare is available on android market. The version from the thrive system dump doesn't look any different.
All of the games from the Thrive sysdump install and work fine on my Xoom.
BackgammonToshiba.apk
EuchreToshiba.apk
HeartsToshiba.apk
SolitaireToshiba.apk
SpadesToshiba.apk
NFSShift.apk - HD Version Demo
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1165989
The Toshiba File Manager is worthless on Xoom, built for their device - stick with Root Explorer or ES.
i couldnt install backgammon, and printer share always hangs at 61% when openning a document.
Im having a really hard time downloading the whole system dump on my xoom. Could you possibly upload the apps that work well on our xooms?

How to make 3d button images

Please tell me how the 3d looking images in framework and themes are made.I am not able to make them using paint.net or photoshop
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda app-developers app
Never used paint.net but I know you can make that kind of images in Photoshop very easily.
There are like 1000 guides out there but the thing is if you know how to get them.
you need at least basic skills to make it look good, or you can use presets and plugins and make it look like crap

Yackovsky is right...you do need basic skills first.
And some good Google skills too if you want that.
I know how to draw basic images I only want to know . How the 3d effect is given. I know that are only some shades nothing else but those are not such easy to make. I have already searched Google but I don't want those video tutorials as I have not such good connection.
Now I am goin to search any plugin etc for photoshop

It seems like you have some misunderstanding here. It's quite easy if you know what you're doing just a little time consuming in some cases.
And you need to improve your Google skills too as I learned from Google only. There's a lot of information out there.....only if you know where you're looking. No one's born with this knowledge, you have to search and learn yourself.

In order to use Lastpass on your phone you must have a premium plan. It's only $12 a year and well worth it. That's what I use, but there are other options.
AR app recommendation?
I want/need an augmented reality app like wikitude where a user can add his own geotags simply.I would like to be able to geotag my favorite cafe's and maybe have the option to make those public.
I have tried wikitude and layar but the problem is I need to be some kind of developer for them in order to do so.
