This happens mostly on ics
In the hydracore thread, there is a zip file named returning back to Hydra v5.3. Download that and flash that first using cwm followed by speedmod

Flash this https://rapidshare.com/files/3372118715/Returning back to Hydra v5.3 std.zip
Then flash Speedmod..

[Q] How to downgrade speedmod kernel from K13e to K13c

Hi All,
Reason for this question is that, first of all I wanted to root my newly bought SGS GT-I9000 (2.2 DDJP6) So, flashed speedmod kernel K13E (latest). Later, when I wanted to install MIUI rom, as per the instruction one need to flash K13C kernel.
But, whenever I try to flash SM - K13C kernel on top of K13E, I tend to soft-brick my phone (BSOD). I need to once again flash K13E to get back my SGS to work.
So, in order for me to get on to MIUI rom, I have two options...
1) Downgrade K13E to K13C kernel. And continue to flash MIUI rom.
2) Restore my kernel to stock kernel first. Then start flashing K13C and continue to flash MIUI rom.
Can somebody please suggest, which option would be best and highly feasible?
Thanks in advance for the responses
Prabhu.
i dont think it matters what version of speedmod you are on, its only so you have CWM to flash the cyanogen kernel.
but anyway if you want to downgrade just download the one you need k13c and flash it thru CWM or ODIN and it will overwrite your previous kernel
I did try to flash K13C on top of K13E. Odin just froze at <ID:0/022> zImage step.
Please find the snapshot attached.
how long has it been like that. ?? try to find a CWM version and see if that works.
or just flash miui with your current kernel
If u want to get on miui, follow the guide on theandroidsoul.com/net.....good to have a clean start with ezbase2.0

I tried the CMW version of speedmod k13c and was successful. But, while flashing the cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar from odin again, I got stuck in the below attached odin screen.
Is there any CWM version for the cm7-galaxys-initial-kernel.tar? What is that I am doing different?

Trouble Flashing Abyss Note Kernel v4.2

I have Abyssnote Kernel v4.2 on my internal SD and i am currently running Franco Kernel v10. I am wanting to flash to Abyssnote so i can then flash to Kingdroids ICS.
I have gone into Mobile Odin to flash the kernel and then reboot into Recovery Mode and once booted to recovery mode it just loops and i cant use. So i have booted back in Mobile Odin and flashed back to Franco v10
Any suggestions please ?
Cheers

Question about EXACTLY process to flash roms

First of all, HI guys and sorry for my irregular english.
I read since a long time XDA Forums to prepare me in flash and root methods for my galaxy note.
At now, i'm using this stock rom:
[ICS][4.0.3][Stock][OpenGermany]N7000XXLPY_N7000OXALPY_N7000XXLPT_HOME.tar.md5
+
CF-Root-SGN_XX_OXA_LPY-v5.6-CWM5.tar + SuperSU
but i came from a stock rom: N7000UBKK2 with default kernel KK1 from Samsung and Movistar. and i have only a nandroid backup of my default Samsung/Movistar rom.
I have another gingerbread samsung stock rom, for emergency cases:
N7000UBKK8_N7000WEKK1_N7000PETKK1_HOME.tar.md5
But my point is:
I wish test some roms, before to decide which one use in dual boot system:
- Stock 4.0.4 (LRG or you suggest me LRK or another more recent ?)
- AOKP
- Criskelo
- Chrack
- Paranoid
- Cyanogen 9
And i have ready to use: Odin 1.87, Odin Mobile, SuperSU (if is necesary), Abyss 4.2 (CW/Red) for recovery, Abyss 4.2 CW for odin and CF-Root for LRG (if is necesary i can find one for LRK or another recent)
But i'm confused about how exactly do that. Yes i know there are many... MANY topics about that but, I only need a bit of help guys to understand the exactly process and avoid EMMC BUG...
If i understant correctly, i must follow this method, please correct me if i'm grong:
01 - Check if i'm root and settings are in depuration + unkown sources
02 - Because i'm using an ICS Kernel i need first downgrade to Abyss for continue
03 - Reboot in Recovery and flash Abyss4.2 CW/Red, after "reboot recovery" and make wipes
Which one should i use for this CW or Red Version?
...
But after this i have problems, because i have ever red: before flash a custom rom you need a same base. Then ok i think for use for example CM9, or Paranoid, or Criskelo, I need a 4.0.4 rom then i have a:
[ICS][4.0.4][Stock][OpenGermany]N7000XXLRG_N7000DBTLRG_N7000XXLRB_HOME.tar.md5
Ready to flash but...
If a this moment following the previous steps, i'm in recovery of Abyss CW/Red:
Should i reboot using this Abyss kernel in download mode to flash a stock LRG ?
...
Or in another reality, is not needed flash Abyss to flash a stock rom using Odin ?
I wish first test the Stock 4.0.4 before any other custom to make a base point of comparison
...
And after, using 4.0.4 LRG + CF-Root, is safe use install from zip file in recovery to flash any other rom like CM9 for example ? or i need use abyss recovery (before flash it using CR-Root recovery) to flash any other rom (ICS) ?
Again i hope you can help me with these questions, and really sorry is the text is so long but i prefeer to know rightly how to procced before brick my phone, because i still waiting for a JIG (you know, for emergency...)
Tnks to all.
First of All You need to know that there is no need for the same base to flash the ROM.
Second thing You have to use Abyss Redpill 4.2 Original Logo Recovery(It uses GB Kernel) If you are not going to downgrade to GB and want to flash on top of your current ROM
Third Whenever you want to flash CM9/AOKP/AOSP first downgrade to GB(Pre rooted Rom) OR GB then Root it and then flash the rom by going it to CWM recovery.
Fourth thing is Never flash Abyss using PC Odin.
Proper Way to Flash CM9/AOSP/AOKP for a clean install (You will lose data)
Download a prerooted GB Rom from here ===> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Reboot your phone is Download Mode. (Vol Down+Home+Power)
Open Pc Odin on your Pc/Laptop
Connect your phone to PC via USB Cable
A Small Box in Left Upper turns Yellow. It means your phone is recognized by Odin
Now Select GB File under PDA Tab (Do not change any settings)
Start Flash
YOU WILL HAVE A GB ROM ON YOUR PHONE WITH ROOT
Now Go to Recovery
Install Zip from SD Card
Flash Rom
Flash Gapps
Do All 3 Wipes (Cache/Dalvik/Data)
Reboot System.
you might wanna root first and backup efs before jumping to any rom that is different csc then you previous one.

Tnks to all, at now i'm testing some roms and kernels, looking for a "perfect" mate for my paranoid android (tableted rom), and in my tests i still looking for a decent kernel because (may this is my imagination but...) CF-Root LRG kernel in LRK Rom (Chrack's Rom) consume excessively batery but i will test in an ordinary day because may is not problem from rom, this should be a problem from kernel...
I read before: SpeedMod kernel was developed just for this situation: low batery comsumption + high perfomance...

[HELP] Black screen

Hello there guys.
I just need a little help here.
I rooted my phone for the first time using speedmod kernel then i saw hydracores most recent kernel and i tried it out.
After a day of testing i found out that in my phone it has a camera bug where the image stays on the screen after taking a shot. And based on my experience speedmod kernel is better for me.
So in short, i want to go back to speedmod (currently on hydracore).
I tried to flash it thru mobile, pc odin and even cwm but after reboot, its just black screen after samsung gt n7000 flash screen.
But when i revert back to hydracore using either pc odin or cwm it continues to boot.
Tried this a couple of times but the result is just the same so i have no choice but to stick to hydracore for the mean time.
Questions:
Am i missing some steps or is hydracore kernel preventing me from flashing to a different kernel?
Is there any other way i havent tried to get back to speedmod?
Thanks in advance to those who can help me out. )

you must state what rom are you in... JB ICS OR GB..
Speedmod wont work on JB while Hydracore works on AOSP AOKP CM10 JB. and Hydracore doesnt work in TW JB
if you are on JB of course your phone wont boot if you flashed Speedmod.. Speedmod is for ics.. try flashing compatible kernel for your rom

Im on stock Ics 4.0.4.
Both speedmod and hydracore are working fine on my note, my concern is that i cant revert back to speedmod from hydracore.
if you are on hydracore v7,the you need to flash a revert.zip file from the hydracore thread followed by the speedmod kernel.
as v7 has updated drivers, you need to revert back before flashing a kernel with old drivers.

why am i having semaphore logo at boot

its kind of bugging me.. how did i get semaphore logo on my boot screen. (even the cwm is semaphore version) . i dont remember installing/flashing sempahore kernel.
heres what i did
i flashed wrong rom (it was 19000 rom i think) .. and after that i couldn't go into recovery and stuff. so i flashed stock 2.3.5 rom using odin, rooted, and then installed speedmod kernel (for instaling cwm) . but when i go into recovery it shows "semaphore cwm recovery" and when i power on the device i can see the semaphore logo .. wehre it's supposed to be at t logo.
is speedmod not supported or what?.

Speedmod is for 2.2 (Froyo) and you flashed 2.3.5 (GB). Grab Corn kernel and move from there.
