CM 10 upgrades and other information - LG Optimus Black

Basically this thread is about pros teaching noobs...not that i m noob cause before installing cm10 i had to practically salvage my phone from 0mb internal memory and restored it to fully functional OB...
in general i need some information about some plugins and kernel mods
Is cm10 equalizer better than beats. Cause i wanted beats on my ob but i read it only supports 2.3.x roms so.. is there any workaround..
Can i mod a cm10 kernel so that it uses much less ram and battery?
P.S. plz dont reply "there is a search box " cause i have already than that and thats why i m putting up this thread

ICS or GB

Can somebody tell what is the difference between ICS and GB.
Secondly how can one install ICS if he is on GB.
Thirdly games such as modern combat, NFS HP, etc HD games and other GB Apps will work fine on ICS.
Lastly benefits of updating to ICS or disadvantages of Updating to ICS.

congrats on posting the the right section
http://waveboy2u.wordpress.com/2012...ngerbread-and-android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich/
upgrading depends on what rom you want to use and if you are rooted or not?
your third part is not really a question by I guess you mean does it work? and the answer is yes they should work fine.
Benefits well you get all the new changes, downside is as there is no offical release most of the roms are still buggy
Thanxxx man but i know i posted earlier ques in wrong section but its not so serious matter how people r reacting they can simply tell to post ques in other section.

people get like that because it happens far to often its not a attack at you or anything just at people not reading the rules and posting in the right place
Biggest differences are under the hood. ICS uses GPU UI rendering where gingerbread is still using cpu. Other than that the theme as changed. Better stock launcher and more unified look.
Read this for a pretty detailed discussion of ICS (its a review of the nexus in addition to ICS, but gets into details about ICS and what's different)

Help Please...!!

Hi Xda developers and all its users.
I have xperia X8 and i love my phone and using android 2.1 Eclair happily but for so many days i am quite unhappy because of some resons about my phone like
I cant port my apps toy sd card(Main Reason)
Multi touch disability..
So i have just rooted up my phone and install xrecovery 0.1 sucessfully
Now i am bit confused about choosing a rom formy phone..
After reading other threads about same problem some said froyo is better and else said ICS is better..
So guys plz suggest me which rom i should install in my phone which have no bugs and cant be laggy at all...
I can use my phone mostly for gaming, browsing and listening songs.
I like ICS and Jelly beans both..
Is there any custom rom among both of them which i can use....
Please suggest me...
Thank You
Well since you've just install xRecovery i assume you are using stock kernel. So i suggest you to use GingerDX v028b.
You've been joining XDA for about a year now but why did you post your question in Themes & App section. You should post your question in Q&A section. Please read the forum rules!!

As per u all said i installed Gingerdx...but when i reboot my phone the screen stucks at "SONY ERICSSON" logo...
What i do now....??
Install GZR!
your device is on stock kernel so put gingerbread rom/froyo ,its more stable....cause jelly bean and ics are not stable though on custom kernel.

1. Use CM10 lite by bieltv.3
The beta 2 version is pretty good and stable, camera, hq video playback, google now (voice search) not working.
119 MB, along WITH Gapps.
2. Use CM10 beta 3 by bieltv.3
Camera now works, camcorder slightly laggy. Flash doesn't work yet.
128 MB without Gapps, remove apps you don't want. Gapps not included so you can flash the ones you want.
3. Use C.A.M.P.S. (CM10+AOKP+MIUI+Parandroid+Sony) (!!!!) ROM by anurag pandey
It's still in beta testing phase. It's a rom for HD2 ported to the SGA. Some features like Aroma Installer not working (never gonna; HD2 --> Ace ?!?)
Doesn't work properly yet, still highly recommended.
Hope I helped!
I think is too soon to try a ICS/JB rom for daily use so give a try to stock CM 7.2 (stable as a Samsung Rom) or a custom based on stock one. These roms will work quite good without problems. This is only my opinion.

you can use apocalypse...as it is more stable than other rom that i have been used so far !
Cm7 is very stable atm,but battery life is bad...I personally use sgs2 v10 rom and my battery lasts for almost 2 days
I listen music and surf internet..so far i have best battery life on rom mentioned above....and i used lot roms
I'm using FinalCM7.2-RC3-AA-FIREKERNEL-OC and I think it's very good.

Which of those would you recommend as an everyday driver for someone with technophobia?
My sis has asked me to update her i9000, she's currently on the latest stock GB.
Her main uses are Facebook, WhatsApp, Skype, Viber and Music.
She's not very good at using task managers to keep the number running apps down to a minimum so Roms with good garbage collection would be a bonus.
Thanks.

CM 10.1 Is probably slowest of them all. It dissapointed me. I have not tried hellybean yet but I can say that SlimBean with SQLite optimization and Slimmer pack is smoothest ROM I have ever used.
Talking about SGS you want to upgrade.. If your sister isn't using phone much, GB is perfect choise. It has better battery life than any JB ROM, and Android manages itself with RAM, so don't worry.

Ynt: Most lightweight ROM!
If she's using just these(whatsapp, facebook, skype etc..)
Perfect choice is GB mate...
Because;
ICS custom roms were sooo fast but i dont know what happened in jb.Speed of it(with no oc) is not much better than GB...
Btw you said she's on latest stock GB.Can you give us some details, buildnumber of rom etc?
Because i assume that she's not on JW9 which is the best value pack rom out I'll post download link if you want to upgrade to that.

Sorry for my bad english man!
Ultimatum rom comes with viper 4 Android fx and I don't remember the other one, it may be beats audio. The rom already performs great with the sound. Why do you wanna try another audio improvement ? It might mess things up.

Ultimatum already has modded BEATS, with the latest sound libs/ Viper4FX (correct me if im wrong). Keep only one audio manager at a time.
