The problem with the hardware keyboard and buttons in android - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

CyanogenMod installed on Steroids! (RC2/Build 20121210), the hardware keyboard works, then after some time from sleep mode, it stops working until reboot

Complied with all the instructions, rebooted the phone, the problem is not resolved in this way

with broken hardware keyboard, plugged charging usb, and the hardware key to start working again.

restart long and uncomfortable, but if not there then usb cable will only restart.

Since you said that you keyboard start working again with the usb plugged in... I think you problem is not OS related. You have a HW problem. Is a well know bug that the design of the X1 have many flaws (cracky plastic, flex problems, volume rocker issues, keyboard (physical) problems). If you can do it.... try open you handset a do a smal cleaning inside. Sometimes you can have the faulty keys in matter of minutes, but if even this don't work... you should look for a professional technical service that can do it for you.

This kernel implements auto brigthness in the kernel module.

Touchscreen Problems

I just upgraded my Rom for the x time, this time my touch screen will no longer work in landscape. I downgraded to a ROM that used to work, and on that ROM my touchscreen also does not work in landscape mode. Is this a software thing or a result of throwing the phone against the wall to many times? i guess it's time for an 8525....
Any ideas how to get the touchscreen working again?
e.
same problem for me !
It's not switching to lanscape? While opening keys? Or just turning off?
If it's able to be switched with software way (Settings -> Screen -> Landscape), then this is a hardware problem.
Wizars has a magnetic sensor to detect keys sliding, try to check it (use an external magnet).
If screen turning off after sliding the keys, the flat cable is damaged.

keyboard problem

my x1 return after 20 day of SE center for the change of e slide keyboard but i have the same problem...
the problem is: when i type with slide keyboard on a note, word or any other program this key want wart perfetc
when i type "s" write "sc"
"d" > "dv"
"f" > "fm"
"n" > go to the call menu
"a" > "a+space"
is that a problem with a rom? i use energy but i have change this rom and proved any 8 and the problem is the same...but sometime the kayboard go perfect without any problem.....is not hardware!
any idea?
Flash a stock ROM and see if you still have the problem..
What Energy ROM are you using? Tried asking this in the Energy ROM thread?
this is the 3rd ship to SE guarantee and the problem rest the same
with all rom, stock or not spl original or hardspl
but this is nota hw problem because often works perfect but other time....sucks...
return to SE is not resolving my problem....
idea?
I have an idea:
Try pushing the mini-USB port downwards ("down" meaning if the X1 was lying flat on a table). There is some odd connection between the mini-USB port and the volume key, and I suspect it might also be related to keyboard problems. I solved both problems by slipping a flat piece of plastic just above the mini-USB port to constantly push is down. I know it sounds crazy, but it has worked.

****ING CRAZY!!!!!!
you have right but.....wtf!!!!!!!
but WHY.....
I'm not sure why it works. But I am beginning to suspect that the problem (keyboard or volume button malfunction) occurs from overheating of the phone. I got a new X1, then used it as GPS in my car, and it got really hot. Then the volume button problem came back.
So did your X1 ever get very hot?
when i recharge with usb/pc after 30min the battery is VERY hot...
tomorrow i return to SE support...and for the 4°...

Touch screen dead; any way to configure device without it?

Hi,
Xperia X1 is three weeks past warranty. Touch screen suddenly stopped working; Display screen still works fine with keyboard in or out. All hardware buttons and keyboard buttons worked, phone worked OK, it was just the touchscreen that was dead. Never had any display problems when sliding keyboard in and out like I have read in here.
HOWEVER...
My mobile Tech Support told me to reset and now all I have is the initial Windows boot screen that says 'Tap the screen to setup...". WTF? Of course when I tap the screen nothing happens.
Is there a key or button combination I can use to invoke the setup routine? Is there anyway to connect it to a PC and control it? Be nice to get the phone back to working, I can live without the touchscreen for now.
There could be an issue of the flex cable being loose. You could try and open your X1 and re-attach the flex cable and hope it solves the issue.
There are some videos out there that shows you how to do it

Xiaomi Mi 9 - volume up/down buttons sometimes not doing anything

Sometimes my volume up and down buttons don't do anything - no matter if media plays or not. If the screen then is left untouched and locked for like a minute the buttons react without any problem. If I then turn on the device again they stop working again for no reason... tried restarting the device, but this didn't help. Couldn't find any settings regarding this behavior as well...
Is this a known issue? Is this maybe a hardware related problem on my end?
Are you using a case?
To me it sounds like a software problem, but I am no professional by any means
It does feels like that when taking calls.. But overall during phone usage, I don´t see this issue.
Maybe a hardware fault?
Found the culprit. I installed "Sound Amplifier" by Google and this seems to make the volume buttons unusable from time to time. Couldn't figure out why, but uninstalling the app fixed the issue for me...

aamirror | phenotype patcher bottom touch unresponsive

hi,
just recenly when using aamirror with my android auto unit some strange bug seems to have happened and i still couldn't figure out how to fix the problem. let me explain:
it seems whatever i do, the bottom 0,5cm of my screen (above usb-c connection) seems not to response to any touch event within the android system (on my phone - without using android auto connection obviously)
i've tested...:
- bottom touch works fine in twrp
(makes me believe it's not a hardware issue)
- whatever the orientation (if menu is bottom, or status bar) touch will not be recognized
(in android)
- menu buttons are working fine when 180° reverse
- menu buttons work though touch simulation (scrcpy)
- i noticed it right about when having some issues with aamirror somewhat lagging my phone
so generally speaking i could only think of something intercepting the touch events.
i also tried removing both apps, rebooting, dirty flashed another update
with and without plugging it into android auto again and again.
what could be the problem??
