I have a galaxy tab p1000.
Firmware-2.2 (stock version)
Baseband- p1000DDJM2
Kernal- 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #
Build no-Froyo.DDJM8
Its network unlock as I bought it from market and I have used
Different sims..
Bt recently a new problem has started.. Only bsnl (india) sim works
On it.. Other sims dont get signal..
For eg. If i have inserted vodafone sim, It shows vodafone sim bt i
Dont get any network tower. Instead I get a crosscircle.
I checked my sim lock by dialing some code I gt here(*#7.....#)(dnt remember)
it shows all of them off..that means it not locked.
So I cant understand why my other sims have stoped working suddenly.
Plzzz help.
it seems no1have a solution to this problem yet..
som1 plz reply.

How to do tat??
Modem thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069727
Get JPZ
I can't confirm that Gingerbread modem works in Froyo.
But I am pretty sure it can.
You need Odin v1.7
and need to put the modem.bin in the "PHONE" part of Odin and DON'T tick "re-partition"
I would recommend upgrading your tab to at least GB though when you are up to it.
The guide and files are in my signature.

my current provider is Mobilicity which uses AWS network(HSDPA 1700/2100). Tab must work well on this provider since T-mobile galaxy vibrant is working so nicely with Mobilicity.
but the problem is even if i put the SIM card in the tab, the tab won't find any network. I rooted and unlocked properly.
help me~ what is wrong??

Have some patience, that was just an hour... Anyway, did you flash a modem? Because otherwise it's not really going to work.

No clue. Since you say TMobile tab works well, i'd suggest that one. However i'm not an expert by any mean, so you might want to look around/wait for more answers.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
The T-Mobile US modem is the only modem known to support 1700/2100 AWS, so if you want 3G it's your only choice!
Regards,
Dave
Look for the standard TMO 3G modem in Roto's modem switcher thread in the dev section.

Hay guys,
I am searching the camera fix here and found new ROMs in other thread.
I have some questions. Please help me to get it clear.
I am currently running
Android 4.0.3 / P1000XXJPZ
with kernel
2.6.35.7 SGT7-ICS-TE4M #20120410
9.0.0-RC0-GalaxyTab-HumberOS
and version #CM9-SGT7-TE4M-20120307
1- Can I flash "cm-9-20120528-UNOFFICIAL-p1c.zip" into my tab?
2- What is "update-cm-9-20120602-HumberOS-maguro-signed.zip" for?
3- Do I need to flash the kernel "cm9-kernel_20120624.zip" as well?
4- For the above resources, is CwM ok to flash them?
5- Do I need to wipe before flashing?
6- Other action required for upgrading the newest ROM?
Thanks in advance.
You have to be very very sure what you have.
GT-P1000 is a GSM tab not CDMA.
Look at what is printed on the lower back housing of your tab, what model is it written.
Or do you have SIM card slot on right hand side. If yes it is GSM.
From your details, JPZ modem and all, you are P1000 alias GSM.
NO. Don't flash the p1c Rom
Go look for the p1 nightly instead.
Unless you somehow managed to run JPZ modem on a vzw or Sprint tab, which is weird.

Ok, I don't know anything about China network.
But wikipedia says China Unicom is GSM.
Does it have a SIM card? if it is, it is GSM.
You may be mistaken WCDMA with CDMA. WCDMA is GSM.
CDMA is a different thing.
If has SIM card in your tab (not pad, mind you), it is P1000
download the p1 nightly.

just flash the cm9-nightly that you want, then flash gapps-ics

So I don't need to take care MTD issues in this stage, right?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app
Hmm...
So you are not on MTD yet?
MTD was introduced some time in April.
Your post is a bit weird
2.6.35.7 SGT7-ICS-TE4M #20120410
9.0.0-RC0-GalaxyTab-HumberOS
and version #CM9-SGT7-TE4M-20100307
better do this if you can get shell access or busybox
$mount | grep mtd
if it returns blank, you are not on mtd
if so, you need to restock and load overcome kernel before you can flash mtd rom.
EDIT: if my memory serves me well, I didn't have to restock moving from BML to MTD.
Just flash it. anyway it will tell you if it works or not, so no harm.

LOL ~ another wrong typing in my post. It's #CM9SGT7-TE4M-20120307. I've corrected it.
I've done Restock and Overcome before flashing ICS. I thing it's already a MTD ones. So I will flash P1 today.
Thanks again, buddy.

Too bad. Stuck at start up logo over 10 min. Probably need to restore the backup.
After flashing "cm-9-20120605-UNOFFICIAL-p1.zip" with CwM.
Then quickly succeed flashing CM9 nightly. Based on Overcome it just needs to flash P1 ROMs. The secret is to remove (or unmount) the external SD card before flashing.

I think the stock one is JK4 for JB. But for jamaica, I'd suggest looking at the modems your carrier is on, those would probably be the best.
Ok after doing some research i found out that the network I'm on uses the 900mhz frequency.. which modem uses 900mhz as default?

A modem with 850mhz unlocked would probably do great but what I think would be best is to find the base of your carrier's modem.

Well, JK4 is actually UGJK4. So let's say you have JK3 (UGJK3) and it works great, you know that the newer modem, JK4, will work well.
But now that I'm thinking about it, did your phone come with GB? If so, it's quite hard to us to know which modem is came with. Modems are by area so (almost) every carrier uses different one. There's a modem thread in the Dev section (stickied), you might have to try a few different one.

When i got the phone it was running Froyo which I later updated to GB.. my brother's Cappy has the UCKK4 and he's still running GB.. we got the phone the same time and both updated the same time so I'm assuming that is what I had before I upgraded to JB.. I'm on JK3 modem but i can't seem to flash JK4 or any other modem.. it always ends with an error...

U can use Odin3 v1.83 (the regular Odin) to flash a modem as well. Just pull the modem.bin out of the cwm zip of the modem u want, get into download mode, put the modem.bin in the PHONE tab/slot in Odin and flash.
Get the Odin here if u don't have it already... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33577757

No need to give up, you can flash modems after modems without any problem. It just a bit time consuming.
To be safe, backup your efs folder so that if your IMEI is unknown again, you can use the backup.

From what i know of the Captivate specs...the gsm 900mhz frequency that it can operate on is just the 2g/edge network. U said u saw the H before on GB rom (custom rom or leaked firmware, i'm guessing?). That letter H can be changed to read whatever letter u want. Just saying.
So in reality the problem may not be the modems (although some modems will work better than others for sure), it may just be the network service that your provider has in your area... It may just be low/bad cell signal.
What other frequencies are used by your provider ? Compare that with the frequency band specs of the Captivate and you will get a better answer on the quality of service you should expect. Maybe your provider has a coverage map that you could compare to as well.

Please can anyone help me fix my GT P1000, the problems are BaseBand, Network, IMEI, IMEISV Unknown, problem occured when my tab sudddenly shut off because of the battery shutting down at 60%. Ive been reading topics here but i really cant find any solution doing it, i have tried restocking using GB Stock Safe V5 then rooting and following the install guide of the overcome experience but still no luck doing this solution.
What else should i try? Can you please teach me step by step in doing it, i am really new into this. Thanks you in advance.

Hello Priyana, when i turned on the tab the network, baseband, imei is not there anymore, can not detect simcard too, so i thought the system got corrupted badly and tried restocking. GB stock safe V5 perfectly installed but there is still no baseband, imei, network, it doesnt even detect the sim card. Tab. I followed also the guide/steps installing from GB stock +cwm to cm10 (youtube vio tutorials) thinking that cm 10 would put back the lost imei, baseband, network but still no luck. So i restock again to GB stock.I am from Philippines and i used jpz as modem.bin.
As far as I know, if gb stock safe didn't get your IMEI/baseband back, it might be hardware issue.
