Dock / Car mode turning on and off - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys im using crashes final 4.1.2 rom and for the past week i have notice that car mode turns on and off again. its becoming annoying. i cant find out how to turn this off at all.
I have used this ROM for 2 months with no issues until now.
Any ideas?

Its possibly a hardware fault, I had a similar problem with my old HTC hd2 where the USB connection became corrupted and forced the phone into thinking it was getting docked. That's my view but hopefully its a software thing and you can easily sort it.

I had the exact same problem. Car dock mode randomly activated and deactivated with no user input.
The problem was a faulty USB the on the phone that was fixed when I sent it to service.

try cleaning the USB port first.. (remove battery) use a clean cloth , little alcohol, a small toothpick (gentle)

Charging / battery problem

Hi,
Has anyone has a similar problem and managed to fix it? -
My phone keeps saying is charging when not and the battery icon keeps changing from charging to not then for a second disappears?

Yes I had this problem. I pulled out battery for about minute, then it disappeared for few hours. When it happened again, few restarts helped and from that time everything goes well again. No problems so far.

Common Issue with the Charging Port.
Try blowing in it and cleaning it.
What's the best way to clean it?

I had this problem with my Note that I preordered. I send it to Samsung and they changed à piece ("platine de chargement" in french) seems it was a common problem on the 1sts Notes.
(my Note was rooted and have à custom rom but the waranty works anyway)

This problem has been discussed many times and in many threads. just take out the battery and push the charging pins inside the phone usb port, straight in the phone. this means you push the charging pins of the charging port on the phone to the back of the phone.I also cut open a bigger hole in my phone Cover where the usb cable contects to the usb port. it seems the hole was not big enough and my usb cable was forced to connect at an angle. my problems went away and I never had the same problem. again.

Can anyone confirm this hardware problem please

Ok so my phone is playing up abit. When i put the charger in it disconnects and connects constantly. Its fine if you dont touch the phone but as soon as you touch the screen it starts disconnecting again. I put this down to a faulty charger dock and ordered the part so i can fit it. However after fitting the new dock the problem still persists. Ive changed wires, plugs, charger flex and charger port. What could this possibly be?

That link is in french, can you explain a little bit what it says. I have same problem as OP but I bought 4 different USB Flex replacemments and they all dont work. No sound from speaker except for a little popping sound. I think something in the link talked about the back of them being grounded or glued, can you explain it a little please?

Audio jack not keep headphones in

Hello, my I9000 is about 4-5 years old, I've been having trouble recently with the audio port.
Some headphones will go in but pop back out, like it's on a spring. Some will go in but my phone struggles to recognise them, when it does the slightest movement will disconnect them.
I've had a look to see if anything is stuck and I can't see anything inside the port.
Anyone have any tips or solutions that may help?

Problem solved.
Inserted a cotton bud (q tip to our American friends) into the audio port and cleaned it out, came out a little dirty. Now it accepts all headphones and even sounds better than before.

Repair it with Sony Update Service.
Updated 4 days back
Build no 10.1.1.A.1.253

Try a factory reset. But before that check if rebooting solves the problem. I had a display issue which was fixed by a reboot.

not telling you to update, "repair it"
Using different chargers is the cause.
Use the stock charger with stock cable.

I have the same issue, and I don't use the stick charger, I imagine the problematic chargers aren't correctly grounded or have some EMI or ESD issues. I haven't tried the stock charger yet to see if it solves it.
Poor move on Sony's part though not making the phone able to handle a poor quality power source correctly.

before i used to charge using the car charger. at my cousins place i used a htc charger for 4-5 days.
from later on im using the stock charger itself..
did i restart .. no use..
same issue... i selected show touch from development options..
im able to see the responses.. this occurs only sometimes , may be every 7/10.
just a single touch and the whole line gets multi touched.
for ex- i try to type "hie" , i get something like "ghjuioert" some times even bigger messages.
no difference even after a rebot.
should try factory reset. (long process backup download etc ).
any other options ?..
im using the stock charger...
tell me how to repair it...
With pc companion or sony update service.

Hi dude !
I remember to have this problem on my Xperia Neo.
While charging the touchscreen was unresponsive like touching on one side was like touching on the other side, apps opening randomly, lots of bugs. But didn't happened always, only sometimes.
I never figured out what could be and I don't use it anymore.
Maybe you have a faulty unit

[Q] Issues with charging

Out of nowhere while on knoxraid my phone wouldn't charge unless completely turned off like something within the ROM was acting up so I downloaded and installed a new ROM I think it's called purerom but I'm still having the same problem when I get home today I might try going stock and seeing if it's a hardware problem but just wanted to see if anyone was having the same problem ..
I had a similar issue to what your experiencing on the stock rom. Clean the charging port on the phone by blowing air into it. Then check your charger to make sure you have no dust in it then try it charging again.

I have 2 chargers from Samsung that work perfectly fine for my brothers phone he also has a note 3 and I cleaned the port with can of air and still only works when I first turn on the phone and charge it the first time if I try to plug it back up it won't see it and when it's completely off
Try a factory reset. That fixes most issues. It sounds like it might be a software problem.
