I just tried skype for the first time with my Galaxy Exhibit 4G (SGH-T679)
I can make test calls fine, but when I tried talking with a friend on a video call, I kept getting an alert:
"your friend can't see you, press the camera icon to start video"
I press the camera, video doesn't start, and about 2 seconds later, I get the same alert:
"your friend can't see you, press the camera icon to start video"
repeat, repeat...
I am running Peach Sunrise, which is Android 2.3.6.
my skype is V.3.0.0.6181
Anyone know how to use the video (preferable front) with this phone, software?
Thanks,
Drew

I'm having some issues with video play back and I'm trying to determine what is causing my issue.
Issue being, if I get a phone call during the video it pauses the video and goes to the phone call. When I go back to the video it just displays a blank screen.
Eventually I have to restart the video, so I try to use the seek bar to get into the movie. If I go past 11 minutes the video just restarts back to the beginning. The seek bar continues to go on, but the video just keeps looping from the beginning of the video.
Currently using
CyanogenMod 4.0.3.1
HTC Dream
Rogers
Tried "video player" from market
Tried "PlaysVideo" from the market
Tried "Meridian" from the market.
They all have the same issue.
i have had an issue similar to this on 404. jus wait it out and it should be fine.

so is this a known issue with the cyanogenMods?
Hello everyone, here's my problem. It's been many days that whatsapp is not working as it should. Sometimes (very often, actually), the app appears to be "frozen", as if it is offline. The problem is that when this happens, I don't receive any message or notification. If I manually open the app and I tap on a conversation, the "seen online at X pm" don't show up soon and I have to wait different seconds. The result is that I receive messages with different minutes of delay, and only because I manually opened the app!
For example, I was talking with a friend before, I sent him a few messages, then I got back to the home and put the phone on the table. 15 minutes later, I opened the app because my friend wasn't answering and I had to wait a few seconds until the message "seen online at..." appeared: when it did, I received a message from him sent 10 minutes before. This happens in 3G and 2G. I reinstalled the app, I did a full wipe of the phone but I don't know what else to do. I thought it was a connection problem, but it's been days :crying: If necessary, I'm using Prime HD 8 (and this happens with Prime HD 9 as well)

My sim has always been in in my phone, I checked every option and FAQ. The problem is random, not always... for example now it seems to work. I'm starting to think it's my operator's fault. But I can use the web normally, the problem is just whatsapp... dunno

Couldn't it be because of you have disabled in system settings, accounts and synchronization that applications can sync in background, or disabled automatic synchronization?
Try to check in ACCOUNTS AND SYNCHRONIZATION.

I don't know, it happened also after a full wipe, but it seems to work now, I've installed a previous version.
My S5 seems to be possessed. Its not rooted (cant anyway) no rom, have done absolutely nothing out of the ordinary to the phone other then install my normal apps from the play store.
Yet the phone is constantly, about 20x a day just going to the 'call logs' screen. I've rebooted the phone, logged in and with nothing open poof call logs. It seems to happen more when my fingers are hovering near but not touching the screen, is there some sort of air gesture for call logs that I dont know about ? Its never any other screen, its not like its accidentally hitting the 'back' button. It is starting to get a bit annoying ..
I notice mine opens apps "on its own". Not sure if its a gestures or hover thing or what. Usually gallery or phone, which are right next to each other on my home screen (all the way left). Must have something to do with it.

YES!!! My Rogers (SM-G900W8) does it too! I thought it was probably because I installed something, but, now that I see you have the issue !!
I posted this same question in the Q&A section regarding the call logs. Ultimately , I factory reset my phone. That fixed whatever the problem was. It was annoying the crap out of me.

I found the problem, it was my galaxy gear 2, every time it 'checked' my phone for new messages it would leave the phone on the call log. I turned off the option to open content on my phone from my gear and all is well now !
I have been experiencing this issue since upgrading to Lollipop on my S5. I too have a Galaxy Gear 2. I have just disabled 'Smart Relay' in the Gear App (which is what I presume you were referring to) and so far all seems good Thanks.
Hi all,
I'm running out of ideas and could use another opinion please:
N6 running 5.0.2 (this is the second one incidentally, I sent the first one back for this same problem) - the phone will shutdown under certain circumstances. When this happens it does not restart, you have to press the power button to restart it. Mostly this happens when I use the Google Camera stock application to take a photo but only ever when the phone is not connected to WiFi. I have had it happen when I open the camera app as well (without taking a picture), if you put your ear to the upper speaker as soon as the camera app is opened you can here a cell location signal (similar to the sound you hear when you put your phone near a speaker) and then the phone turns off. I can stop this happening by using a third party camera app. I can also stop this happening if I disable Google location.
Yesterday I wiped the phone, signed in with my Gmail, and took 25 pictures, all OK. I then turned on Google Now, took one photo and the phone turned off. This is definitely something to do with location data but I don't understand why nobody else is experiencing this ? Maybe the phone is faulty but I'm going to have a hard to explaining that as I sent the last one back for the same reason.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Simon.
Glad I'm not the only one having this issue. I've seen this happen on my N6 too, both on 5.0.x as well as on 5.1. I've seen this happen even while unlocking the phone (I have face unlock enabled), and yes this happens mostly when using the camera. Never knew it has to do something with location services.
I'm running completely stock and unrooted by the way. I guess I should try flashing the factory image
Yes same with me, stock phone unrooted and although using the camera is the best way to get this to happen you are right, it sometimes happens at other times as well. If I go to an area with no WiFi and poor phone signal I can get it to happen everytime the Google Camera app is opened, so I have to resort to taking pictures in Airplane mode.
This has happened to me since I have had this phone and its replacement and I am curious to know why, when you open the Google camera app, if you immediately put your ear to the upper speaker it becomes active for about 3 seconds ? After that three second burst of sound the phone will turn off. To me, it sounds like a location signal is being sent when the camera is opened.
Yet turning off geolocation?

same thing happening here,i was out today and when i tried to open the camera app phone kept crashing, soon as i was home on wifi camera app worked fine,i've switched off the location thing to see if that helps
Hi
Im using a gw5 pro lte connected to a s21+ over bt. Whenever i receive a call on the phone the watch starts ringing right away but the screen with the caller id appears after a minimum 5 sec to sometimes 10 sec. Even if i wake up the screen, the caller still appears after that time. All other notifications appear instantly. I could easily pick up my phone from the pocket and see who's calling rather than see it on my watch. I previously owned a s3 frontier, a gw 1, a gw 3 and none of them had this delay. Is this normal behaviour? If it is than it sucks... Any help is appreciated! I attached a video in wich the delay is about 5 sec...
strange, this doesn't happen to me. What software?
