Homescreen - Wallpaper Resolution - LG Optimus Black

Hi everyone!
I'm trying to find a good way to choose a pic without loose quality, but, everytime, i just have a horrible homescreen.
What i have to do to have a good resolution?

Try to use Zedge to choose your wallpapers :good:

But with this resolution my homescreen looks like this View attachment 1560199

install quickpic. and set your new wallpaper using quickpic. OB's own gallery reduces image quality a lot when adjusting / cropping for wallpaper

or try to install like 3x(480x800)
dont know really
1080p wouldn't be bad

For scrolling between workspaces, have an image sized to 960x800 on the OB.

[Q] 5 Homescreens with 5 different Wallpapers

Hey guys,
after playing a bit with "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=810240" scrolling Wallpaper-Dock around, i got a nice idea for a interest android-homescreen-style. But to create the idea, i need 5 Homescreens with 5 different Wallpapers. That means on every single homescreen there will be a special wallpaper. Could it be possible to create on every homescreen a Wallpaper??
With best regards,
PainUchiha
I dont think that is possible since the wallpaper gets divided when you set the number of home screens
If you know your way around Photoshop/GIMP you could create it there.
Wouldn't be much of a problem.
You could use MultiPicture Live Wallpaper

the problem is that when you scroll you still see the most of the left/right image.
yes, that would be not really fine :/ ... but well, if there is no another way right now :/ ...
how big should be the image be for 6 homescreens? 5 with different things and the last just black...
hm, if we will find a way, it would be awesome. Then i would ask you next question:
Would it be possible to give the wallpapers while scrolling a animation (a video or s.th.) :/?
check this out....this might be what you are looking for

EDIT: OK no that's not what you want...sorry
no, it's not what i mean :/ . hm,got anyone any idea how big should be the wallapaper be? length and width?

A quick search and you would have found this. But don't bother, it doesn't do what you want anyway.
Can't be done with the default launcher, or any launcher that I know of (LauncherPro, ADW Rosie e.t.c). They don't work that way, and never can without the developer changing what a home screen is, or an app augmenting the background
Couldn't this be done with a live wallpaper, at least in theory?

if we would find someone who has any knowing with the live wallpapers ... hm, so i'm coming sunday back and then i will try to find out the perfect length etc. for for one homescreen wallpaper... then i will try a bit and try it with 2 and then with 5 ;-) ... wish me luck ... if you have time and wanna try it, then write pls then your result here
There was an app for this awhile back, I can't remember the name but I am currently trying to see if I can find it.
It's called Multi-Picture Live Wallpaper.
EDIT: You can get it here -> http://www.tamanegi.org/prog/android-apps/p/MultiPictureLiveWallpaper-0.4.7.apk
you could do it with just two home screens....

Xoom Lockscreen Template PSD

Borrowing from ritalin's wicked ass template:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11795817
I created a lockscreen template guide to create lockscreens aligned with the circular lock object.
You can easily make aligned lockscreens like this one:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
There's a folder group called, "LockScreenGuide," just drop your graphics under that layer.
I attached a sample lockscreen aligned wallaper so you can test this yourself. I didn't attach it as a JPG cuz it automatically recompresses it lowering the quality.
Please share your LAWs! (lockscreen aligned wallpapers)
Here are some other samples.
And a big shout out to czonin for coming up with the idea in the first place!
Here's a screencap to help explain things a bit better:
I don't even get a shout out for that layout? Dam.
Nice work man. As soon as I can change my lockscreen...I will be using one of these for sure!

But to totally honest, I have no idea what a "PSD" is or means, nor do I know how to use that template. I do know that once I figure itout, I'm gonna be making mad wallpapers that fit AND look good.
A psd is an adobe Photoshop image file that can contain layers, transparency, and other metadata not contained in other image formats.

You can with MultiPicture Live Wallpaper but this template probably won't work with it since it doesn't crop the same way.

Wallpaper question

On my WinMo phone I could easily make custom wallpapers. On the Cappy, not so much. I made a few designs in 480X800 size, landscape and portrait, copied them to the phone, but when I try to use them as wallpapers I can only select a small area of the graphic to use. How should I size a jpg so that I can use it full screen as a wallpaper? Thanks.
would like to know that as well!
You need the full size of the image to be 960x800.
A single screen is 480x800.
I don't have my wallpaper scroll, so I create a 960x800 image canvas in photoshop with a 480x800 image that I place in the middle for the wallpaper.

I'm going to try that, but here's the thing...when I go to select an image for a wallpaper from the Gallery the selection box is more of a square than a rectangle. Even if the center of my image is within that 480X800 area inside the 960X800 area, it will still be cut off because of this.
960x800 isn't that far off from square. At least, it's a lot more square than 480x800. If you have the right proportions, you can expand the box to the full size of the canvas.
Edit:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Expand the box to the full size:
Gets me this:
Yeah, but I don't want the image to take up the whole screen. I played around with dimensions and placement and came up with a 240X200 logo inside the 960X800 background that works the way I want it to. Got my Harley bar and shield working for me, now. Thanks!

Like.No.Other | This is my Android - Update June27

Today, I'm pround to present my android customization. I re-designed the icons and use Desktop VisualizeR to add these icons to home screen.
By doing some simple steps, my android fone is strange. Not like iDevice, not Windows phone. It's Android with the power of widget system.

How to do?
1. Your launcher must set up with 5 colums and 7 rows (I design on this size).
2. Install Desktop VisualizeR (free from Market)
3. Add Desktop VisualizeR widget to your home screen, use app and icon wich u want (erase the name of app).
4. Resize your widget to 5x1.
Now enjoy ^^
