get then factory cable, plug intom fastboot and follow SR tool instructions carefully, and you can do it. I just bricked twice and unbricked and run as usual after the step-by-step guide to unbrick. this will save yourself all the havoc, good luck!

I perform all the steps of srTool. but the system does not start. system recovery screen and repeats indefinitely. system restore 7.2.2 I need someone that to share your system.img version 7.2.2 with me please !

Please note that the mentioned "factory cable" is NOT the USB cable that comes with the KFHD from Amazon. You need to buy the cable somewhere else.
After that, you could easily unbrick the device.

HELP Kindle HD stuck on "Kindle Fire" boot screen

Hi, advance thanks for you kind cooperation in helping me solving this issue.
My kindle was rooted to use google play store and was working fine until i decided to mess with the build.prop to allow more games to be played. I basically edit the file like thishttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1727645; i copied the the file before editing and saved it on my fs explorer app. When i rebooted the kindle its just loads the kindle fire screen then 1 sec blink into another kindle fire screen , this time with animation going across the words and stays stuck.
I tried usb connection, but it will not detect anything and as a result i cant access the adb in cmd. i tried hard resets 20-60 sec and nothing.
Can you please help me? i felt good rooting it with the guide from the forum n i know your help will be much appreciated.

Sorry guys but any update on this prob :crying:
I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I'm basically having the same problem as OP, but I got that problem in a different way. From what I understand, the "factory cable" will put the device into fastboot, at which point a system.img file can be restored. I had a couple of questions about this which might help OP too.
1) If the 7.2.3 update was installed, could the 7.2.2 system.img work. If so, is there a working link for it?
2) Does fastboot allow adb access as root (assuming the PC drivers are installed?
All I think I need to do is rename Launcher.apk.old back to Launcher.apk (I thought doing this would disable the amazon launcher and I could use ADW Launcher but I guess not). I guess in OP's case it could allow modifying the build.prop back to stock.

The reason I ask the OP if it is 7" or 8.9" is because you will need to get into fastboot to correct this problem if adb is not recognized. The 8.9 can be done without a factory cable but the 7" needs a factory cable if adb can't be accessed.
Now to answer your questions:
1. Yes it can be downgraded from 7.2.3 to 7.2.2, but along with the system.img being flashed you will need to flash the boot.img and recovery.img or it will not work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
2. Fastboot has nothing to do with adb and uses totally different drivers.
Hope this helps and sorry for the delayed reply

Help with boot Recovery/Loop

Let me start by saying that I'm new to the Android scene and that I'm currently deployed in the Navy so Internet is slow and time consuming. So if you help can you please provide links to what I need and in specific detail? I would greatly appreciate this.
Yesterday I was trying to replace my stock Lock screen photos by editing the file framework-res.apk. All I did was replace the stock photos with photos of my own. To make a long story short it didn't work. Now when I boot my Kindle Fire 7" HD it boot's into a recovery screen. The boot shows a White "Kindle" and a orange "Fire". Once that's complete it goes to a screen that says
Kindle fire System Recovery
Your Kindle doesn't seem to be able to boot...
I tried the Reset to Factory Defaults but this doesn't work. My kindle was on FW 7.2.3 and was Rooted. I don't think I ever made a back up of anything. I guess I need help getting back to stock 1st and then I'll figure out how to ROOT it again. I just want the thing to work while I'm on deployment.
Thanks for the help!!
So no one has answered me yet so I did some digging around and have a couple questions that hopefully someone can answer.
I have a Factory Cable on the way so I can put my Kindle Fire in FastBoot mode. For some reason the computer wont recognize my Kindle through adb, so I'm using the below trend to install the adb, but not ROOT the kindle. That step will be later. Is this the best way to install the Drivers to access my Kindle? And will adb still work with the FastBoot mode?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069117
Once I have the drives installed and the computer see's the Kindle I plan on using the below trend to re-flash the .img back to the kindle. I also plan on upgrading to 7.3.0 as I'm on 7.2.3 right now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
If all goes well then I will re-root the kindle. I'm having all the installs and .img's sent to me.
Does this plan look good and does it make since to anyone that knows more than I do? Again any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, I hopefully will get the KFHD_SRT v1.3.0 tool soon, I'm having it sent to me through the mail as seeing as the file is over 1gb and I can't really download anything to the ship. I know I'm still waiting on my cable. Once I get it I hope to be back up and running.
Thanks again for the help.

[Q] Bricked Kindle without setting up TWRP, what to do?

Hi All,
I feel like I sort of screwed myself here. I tried rooting my Kindle but didn't fully understand the process and now have a bricked device. Fortunately I have a factory cable and when I plug it into my computer I'm getting the Fastboot Kindle Fire logo on my screen. Unfortunately I didn't set up any recovery before hand (that I know of) and my computer doesn't seem to be recognizing the device.
I've tried following this guide but don't quite understand what to do in step two (I've downloaded ADK and am thoroughly confused).
What are my next steps here for getting my device un-bricked? Any help or guidance at all would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
He really needs to reword step 2. When it refers to using adb, it means if your kindle is able to boot up normally then run that command to get into fast boot. You already have it in fast boot so just ignore the adb part.

So just move on to step 3? I downloaded KFHD SRT tool but not really sure what to do next. Do I need windows or a specific program to launch the SR Tool.bat?
Thanks for all the help, really not familiar with this device at all.

Hi,
Good that you have a fastboot cable. First, Windows needs to see your device. When you go into Device Manager, what do you see? Do you see something like TATE-PVT-08 as an unknown device? You need to "install" a driver for that device. Double click the unknown device, select find drivers yourself, and scroll down until you find the Kindle Fire category of devices. Once you click-through that, you should find ADB Composite Device or something like that as an option. After that, Windows should recognize your device, and you should be able to use fastboot commands on it. (By the way, this assumes that you've installed the Kindle ADB device drivers at one point in time)
See this thread for more information about the actual RESTORE commands. (Look under the Restore section of the first post)

Unfortunately, I don't have a system.img that I can send you. One option is to download Kindle Fire First Aide - that might have access to an older system.img file on it (v7.2.3) which will help you. Here's a post on how to download Kindle Fire First Aide:

Follow each of the steps carefully! Install the Java SE Development Kit, for example.

[Q] HELP! Kindle Fire HD 7 doesn't boot

Hi, everybody. First of all I want to say that what I did on my KFHD was a rookie mistake which nobody should ever repeat. To begin with, I copied the full Nexus 7 build.prop into my KFHD. When I tried to reboot it, the problem began. The "kindlefire" bootlogo shows up for about 3 seconds and the screen goes fully black. On my desperation, I made the second terrible mistake: I managed to get the KF into recovery mode through System File Manager V 0.4 and made a full restore. Nothing changed. I bought a fastboot cable and I'm trying to restore it through SR Tool but it doesn't work. Is there anything I can do? I would really appreciate your help!

Hi, thanks for your help. I downloaded KF First Aid and followed all the steps. When it finished downloading all the images there is a message displaying " < waiting for device >" and nothing changes. Any suggestion?
OK either you didn't answer no to kffa when it asked if you want it to place the kindle in fastboot, or your drivers for fastboot aren't installed. I'm betting on the drivers. Plug the kindle and open the device manager, you should see a Tate device with a yellow triangle next to it. Download the drivers in my signature and extract them somewhere. Now right click the Tate device and hit update drivers, hit browser, point it to where you extracted mine. Try kffa again.
If on windows 8 you will have to disable driver signature enforcement first.
