Hello, I'd like to install CWM on my device, however I cannot unlock the bootloader - during unlock process at the motorola webpage I get the message that my device does not qualify for bootloader unlock . so I'm wondering if it is possible to acquire CWM with my locked bootloader.
Thank you!
At this time: No
Maybe, one day, someone will find a way to passtrough the locked bootloader but I doubt as there's an official way to it.

SadNesss!
So let me get this straight.
I cannot unlock my bootloader thanks to my carrier (im guessing its because of them)
Therefore I cannot install CWM
Therefore I Won't ever be able to install a Mod or Leak for my device (unless someone charitable finds a wallkaround)
Is this so??

I think its unlockable... you probably just added a space or extra 0 somewhere in the code.

Sorry for digging up an old post.
Or if this has been answered already, but I have been searching and not managed to turn anything up.
It was a while ago that this thread was started and I was wondering if it was now possible to install CWM without unlocking the bootloader?
Failing this what is the best way of making a backup of the stock ROM before doing any mods?
It's just nice to have a safe point to return to should anything get messed up.

I think you won't be able to "undo" the unlocking. Do or do not, that's it.
Once unlocked you get CWM and do a Nandroid. Then you can mess things up and restore the Nandroid, but still with unlocked phone and CWM in place of the stock recovery.

How kan i install recovery or cwm with bootloader locked.
My statu for unlocked bootloader is : no
Do You have one way to install this please

I don't think there is currently a way to do that. If you were to flash an unbranded firmware onto the phone would that allow you to unlock the bootloader (allowing installation of CWM)? I can't unlock my bootloader due to my PC being broken.

I'm waiting for a solution as well. it should not be that hard as they have a solution for the xperia s with a locked bootloader.
maybe some very wise and helpful dev can port cwm for us xperia t owners with locked bootloaders.

Flashing unbranded firmware will not allow you to unlock the bootloader if you currently cannot unlock it.
Well, no promises of any kind, but there is that one user which claims that after updating to 3.195 the bootloader status changed from non-unlockable to unlockable.
I have to stress out, I cannot confirm nor explain this and I do not propose that anybody tries this.

You can ask, but I bet they say no.
up to date, any method to unlock it?
Seriously?
I also have this problem, the boot loader is locked and I need to install the recovery. Prompt really working bootloader unlock method, none of the methods I did not ride. Through the website Sony have an error occurs, full of requests to install the update file, it weighs 1.5 gigabytes. I do not have as much Internet traffic to download it.
Currenty is possible if you are both rooted and in FW 303. Try this.
Hello again all peeps!
I need helpeth! I cant unlock the bootloader, nothing works.
First I cant get the status options from *#*#7378423#*#* , it just says the number isnt working. I got that menu when I started this a couple of days ago but I cant get them now so I cant check if my phone is unlockable.
Second, the command for unlocking the boatloader with the command: "fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY" doesnt work, it says: "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)" .
Third; I downloaded latest flashtool and tried that but it feels kinda scary since the threads says it only works for x10, x8, x10 mini/pro.

Anyway, I have root now anyway. I guess I can install some roms anyway
Any idea if someone is working on a boot loader unlock for the c6606 I'm kind of annoyed. I have it rooted and debloated but I want to flash other Roms.
Indeed you can. As long as they are stock based and planned for locked bootloader...
The only issue IMO is that you can't flash other kernel than mentioned STOCK based ones

What about updates? I won't get ota updates if I flash it right? I'm stock rooted at the moment
If you finally unlock the bootloader, you will surelly face OTA issues, and probably a soft brick. You will have to use Emma from Sony. It's meant for unlocked.devices...
But first of all, make a BACKUP of your ta partition, or you Will loose your drm Keys.

You've got a locked, un-unlockable bootloader. This is what you get when you send the unlock command in fastboot in this scenario. The oem unlock command is not allowed. This comes from experience of my C6603 on Three UK. Go check the Xperia bounty thread for a ton of information. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2287897 ) Doomlord is working on a workaround for this when he doesn't have other dev work to do.
Upshot of this is that you can't flash kernels that aren't signed by Sony. This rules out CM and anything using CM as a base. It is very annoying but at present only stock based roms are flashable.

Ok so i've made a mistake, fortunately I can still use my phone but i'm in unfamiliar territory.
What I did was download the 4.3 Rom by RomAur, installed the rom and the recovery as per the instructions within the thread, then rebooted to flashmode and entered flashtool so I could flash the kernel and baseband from 290, but made the mistake of excluding kernel and baseband and flashing the only other option which was BOOTBUNDLE, and since then my recovery has been inaccessible.
I've reflashed the dual recovery but it won't allow me to access it via the power on up or down method or the adb reboot recovery method.
I really can't continue with this phone or flash anything without a working recovery, does anyone have any idea how to get my recovery back please??
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm also wanting to unlock the bootloader but without a working recovery i'm a little hesitant to begin.
Phone: Sony Z1 C6903
Rom: RomAur v4.0
Bootloader status: Locked
Flash the kernel and baseband from 290 in flashtool then.

Well i've gone and downgraded but used an unbranded ftf, which has now taken over my IMEI, which now reads 0000000000000000.
In a bad way here and stuck in work with limited internet, i'm now back on a 534 rom and feel like smashing this thing up.
Going home soon so will sit down and go through it all again from scratch, wish i'd just left it on my old monx rom now.
Bad times.
Any other ideas Greg ? Or anyone else?
just upgrade back, I believe you get your IMEI back that way..
The problem you are having is that you need unlocked boot to get a properly working recovery and root on 4.3

Ah i see, well i'm downloading an ftf which is t-mobile 534, it's the closest thing i could get to EE, as at the moment i have no recovery and no root.
So should i do this in this order.
get this tmobile 534 and re root and get recovery, i imagine at this point my IMEI will still be missing (hopefully not) then what would you do?
Update to 4.3 by using one of those roms? and then unlock the bootloader? As thats where I ended up losing recovery, i'm thinking thats maybe down to me flashing boot bundle instead of kernel and baseband through flash tool.
Also doesn't unlocking the bootloader require system rw access?
And thanks by the way Greg, i appreciate your help.
Same thing happened to me. So I flashed Nordic 4.3 kept my data booted then flashed the kernel that comes with twrp. So far everything is great

1) Update to 4.3 using a FTF of your choice.
2) Unlock bootloader (This will wipe system and internal memory so have a backup of internal sdcard)
3) Flash any of the three kernels from the top of this post, I am using the third one with philz recovery.
4) enter recovery and flash the SuperSU.zip found in that same post.
Done.
You do not need root to unlock bootloader. The kernels have the recovery incorporated into them

Is there any solid data on how/why some Z1s cannot be bootloader unlocked? I have a C6906 from Overseas Electronics which I think was sourced from Canda and cannot be BL unlocked, though it's sim unlocked and otherwise works fine on AT&T LTE.
I found a thread/post here mentioning that Sony may be able to "fix" these devices (and possibly for free, at that). I'm going to run down that angle, but if there's any technical data on what could be preventing the BL unlock I'd be very interested in doing some legwork on my own.

Not too sure mate, think its coded not to be unlockable, in which case someone would have to do quite a bit of digging to undo whatever was done. And seeing as that the vast majority of people knew to buy from a source that doesn't have the NO to unlocking the BL I would say that its not going to happen any time soon. I usually do a bit of digging before I buy a phone, rushed into this one and I'm paying for it now.
I'll check out that link you put up, maybe there's hope yet.
Edit: as for the link you put up, that's just for the sim lock.
If you want an unlockable phone then you'll either have to claim from a 3rd party insurer an hope that they give you an unlocked phone or contact Sony for an RMA and hope that they give you one. Otherwise I can't see it.
But in all fairness your missing custom kernels and aosp type ROMs. Most everything else will work fine, including all (well most) the ROMs that are in the android development section, so that's not a total loss by any means.
When roots fixed completely for 4.3, well see more.

When i did that, my bootloader got locked again. Whenever im trying to request unlock through official website , i get some crap in chinese "您所在的IP申请次数超标" does anyone had similar problem? and if yes, what did you do.

Did you try copying and pasting the Chinese text and have google translate it for you?

Since there is no TWRP for this device yet, I was looking around for recoveries for other phones based on the same SoC.
The only one to be found is a work-in-progress for the Honor 8X.
Here's what has successfully been done:
- install zip (I did a HuRu flash)
- format / wipe
- adb shell
Encryption doesn't work.
The thread over in the Honor 8X forums where it's taken from can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8x/how-to/guide-how-to-unlock-root-honor-8x-t3864348
They mention using an OTG cable+mouse since the touchscreen is not working - but we're lucky enough to have touch working for our device.

I installed Magisk by flashing a patched ramdisk via fastboot.

Bootloader?
@steeserious, your bootloader is unlocked? Or, if is not, we can install this recovery?
Thank you.

Yes, of course.
@steeserious, I asked because on Honor 8x forum, they said bootloader must be unlock. And your answer is... You don't tell exactly. Do you unlocked your bootloader or no?
Thank you againfor share this with us.

You asked whether the bootloader of my phone is unlocked and my response was yes. Sorry if that wasn't clear enough
Well we have OEM Unlock option on développer settings and it works for me and root is legal in my country xD because it’s my phone I can do whatever I want.
I would like to know how to unlock the bootloader to be able to install the TWRP, thank you.
....what happened to XDA ...

Go in to settings, go to about phone, click build number a while bunch of times, it comes up saying you're a developer now (congrats), go back 1, go to dev options, go to OEM bootloader unlock, toggle to on/ yes. In future, learn the sheer basics before you look in the to recovery flashing and root. As those are both considered basic.

I'm confused! Does that mean you do not need any code from Huawei to root the phone?
I thought the OEM-unlock switch must be activated if you want to enter the unlock code you received from Huawei?
Does this mean that if I flip the OEM-unlock switch I can directly install TWRP and Magisk without unlocking the bootloader?
Why are there so many unlock services that require a lot of money for the unlock codes?
Quiero roto para Huawei Chino L03 alguien puede ayudar
....and once more with feeling ...is there no OP in this thread or what's going on??? ...and to answer 90% of the questions, asked in what language ever: ...please head over to reddit ...this will be the right place for you

You need to pay for unlocking.

The response from "Huawei customer service" to zeonsteam below is ridiculous. Rooting is NOT illegal anywhere that I know of. What's going to happen? Are the Root Police going to come and take your phone or put you in jail? It can of course void your warranty.
