Hey Guys,
I just got my S3 Mini and i see on review that it has 1 GB of RAM but when i go to Setings> Aplication Manage i only see about 808 MB. Can anyone tell me where is the rest to 1024?
Does your devices have the same?!
Thanx in advance.
LE: And how about the procesor types u have? i have armv7 processor rev 1 (v71) is this supose to be the novathor procesor?.
Yep.
800MB is for user apps and other 200MB is for system.
Regarding the CPU, it shows architecture type not CPU model.
NovaThor is ARM v7 rev. 1

i have two questions , what is the amount of ram in normal gsm galaxy tab is it 512 or 640 , also is the processor in the barazilian tab same as in normal gsm tab but overclocked as it has 1.2 ghz processor or it is a better version
As we disassembled a lot of versions of the tab, they all have different hardware, like bridges, etc. But normally it's 512RAM, 1GHz processor.
512 MB RAM
ARM Cortex A8 processor, 1 GHz processor
PowerVR SGX540 graphics
With regards to a Brazilian version, i think it's only a rumor.
But the tmobile us tab is announced with 640mb ram is it different from eu version

not all device support 800mhz +, some ppl can oc over than 800 but some can't, n pls note that if oc too far your device life gonna be shorter. and if your phone starting to restart then that mean ur device cant handle it
AS far as the processor goes i don't overclock it more than 768mhz.
For mobile data try re installing the ROM or checking the APNs or try some other ROM such as cm9

Hi guys,
This might be a silly question. But ive got the asylum rom installed and just notice on the about phone area that my ram is only 780mb. Is this right?
I thought the note had 1gb ram?
Could anyone share what it says on their about phone area?
Thanks in advanced.

different kernels show different available ram.. like stock show 863.. and hydracore show different.. so its ok.. 1GB ram is not really available..
The RAM that you are missing has gone to the hardware.
yeah i too wanted to know about the exact ram of my note as i have used my note for almost 1 year.. as i remember in past i have a pc with 1 gb ram and it shows 0.99 gb ram in my computer properties but here with my phone having 1 gb ram never showed above 900 mb ram

Hello guys ,, I just want to know which ROM for this phone is better in performance , BTW I am running the official CyanogenMod and it is very slow to a quad core device , I tried the unofficial one but I had no difference in performance , before that phone I was using Samsung galaxy S2 plus which is a dual core processor and I could admit that the S2 plus was faster than that lg 4X HD with its quad core processor .

There is no such thing as the best ROM. Try a few and decide which one suits you most as a daily driver. Comparing them is not an option as we care about every developer here.

Hi, yesterday I read all threads from mini 2, and I saw that the first cm10.1 have more Mb of ram, and then it have been reduced to 397! Why? @TheWhisp explain : ,,Because SAMSUNG knows the best"

Oh my God this is amazing. It's very strange.. I think that having 414MB in RAM with Mini 2 drivers you can't do a lot so TheWhisp thiked to come bak into 396/397 MB in RAM. Personally, I don't like so much Mini 2 drivers

Yes, but... More ram result more responsive system without lag and better performance. Correct me if I said something wrong.

Yes you're right, more RAM = better performance! :good: But I still think that it's an hardware problem or kernel or both (?)

I'm using my GT-I8150 here and it has 352mb of RAM with stock ROM, we can have kernels up to 416mb. Tho some chose to use the 352mb of RAM because its more stable. Developers made HM kernels which stands for High Memory and its 377mb of RAM. VHM for Very HM, RAM varies with 408 or 416mb. Personally, I'm using 408mb cos its smoother and there are lesser system crashes

Because the extra RAM is taken from other drivers - ADSP (video decoding/endocing and camera) and MDP (display, GPU), meaning these device have less available resources.

So does this explains about the CAF kernel?

So, mini 2 have 512 mb ram which is used for drivers and config. files, and the rest is used as avaiable os ram. But is possible to have at least 400 free ram? ( deleting the license and disclaimer text from sources?)

Don't get confused. Licence/disclaimer texts etc have no impact in ram..

I think that if you delete all useless (not needed) texts from driver files, you can reach 400 mb from 398 )

Nope. And that is because comments in source code are not included in final compiled packet.
