help! i'm trying to flash my p925 to nighty p920 - LG Thrill 4G

i try to flash my my p925 to p920 nighty
my p920 is att version v20p
already rooted, after i flashed to the cm10 latest verion(any cm10 version i tried) and i did reset, /clear cache
but everytime i start up, i see boot up screen, and when i'm on the android desktop it shut off by it self, i have tried every cm10 version on p920
the cm7, p920 version works fine. but not the cm10 it boot up, shut off by it self?
can anyone help! thanks

I suggest using the 21D baseband. 20P isn't stable with CM10.

i'm sorry, how do i flash 20p to 21d? i already flashed it to latest stock rom?

This link can be used for flashing different firmwares. Search around for the 21d kdz file.

Did you ever flash the ICS port? If so you need to follow this guide to flash the uboot and xloader img's.

Stock rom for NVFlash with baseband

Hi,
Does someone have a link to an ROM for NVFlash where the baseband is included, cause I have some problems with the baseband, and flashing the baseband through Smartflash doesn't solve them, so I just wanted to flash it through NVFlash, but the baseband wasn't included and so my problems were still there...
Thank you!

You can't flash baseband with nvflash. You need smartflash.
Sent from my p990 on ICS
i have spent 10 days to do it with smartflash and tried so many computers and laptops but no luck, thats why i am asking for nvflash and there is one available for G2X and it flashes baseband aswell on my phone but it is not fully compatible with p990

You cannot flash basebands on the P990 with nvflash, regardless of whether or not you can do it on other models. You have to use smartflash as already mentioned above
If you manage to flash baseband with nvflash or find someone who can I'll buy you a beer!

No offence, but enough, nvflash ain't, and won't be, able to flash baseband. If you guys want to you're free to pm me. Explain in detail about your issues with smartflash and I will do what I can to help you

Lg thrill gingerbread

I had my p925 running cyanogen and it was badass. I got it wet and had an iphone for a sec. (vomit) getting new thrill and [email protected] has gingerbread for it ready via Lg update tool. Wanna root it and install clockwork on it. Haven't seen any cohesive instructions and I would love too. Maybe someone could help!?

Here's a thread that pretty much has it all.
SEE THREAD
Download the LG Flash Package and you can root with it. It has a folder for root tools.
Then download Recovery Manager. It will install it for you.
thank you sir! very neat list that has anything that someone would need. much appreciated! this rocks!!!

wayno140 I have stated that at&the and lg changed something in the baseband and the only way to get other roms to work is to take the boot.img from the att release and flash it to the other roms.

[Q] CyanogenMod 7 Network Issues?

Hi, I flashed the latest CM7 Nightly ROM onto my LG Thrill 4G, and for some reason the Mobile Network isn't working. I can get the wireless network to work though. I tried the APN thing, but when I click save, it redirects me back to the APN menu and doesn't save. It's just blank. Should I try re-flashing the ROM? Or is there a solution to this? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I would appreciate it if someone actually helped.
What version did you flash?
Which baseband and are you on?
Did you search this forum before posting?

If you are on a GB baseband, ie V20/V21 than you need to flash the P920 CM7.
If you already installed the wrong wrong, than just flash the correct baseband, a V10 baseband.
Don't know how many times this had been posted around Here but here it is once more:
GINGERBREAD BASEBAND: P920 CM7
FROYO BASEBAND: P925 CM7.

Please help- Urgent!

Hey guys, my friend has a i900 running 2.2.1 froyo. He hates how it is always freezing and wants me to root it and put CM9 on it. I swapped sim cards with him and did a nandroid on mine so i can restore after. So i have his phone
I was wondering is the process to get Cm9 running is the same as coming from gingerbread.(thats what my phone came with 2.3.4)
On mine i:
Flashed CF root with ODIN,
Booted into recovery and flashes Cm9 and an approprite kernel.
Just wondering if i can follow the same procedure as before. Help is appreciated, i dont want to mess this up.
Thanks.
Just upgrade to gingerbread using Odin...root with appropriate kernel using Odin...flash latest cm9 nightly in cwm...check out slim 4.1 as well.

All i need is recovery mode anyway.
Just wondering

I don't believe you can go to Cm9 from froyo...you maybe right but all the info you need is in the links I provided. I'm sure you'll find you're answer in the cm9 thread.
I gave it a quick look and it doesn't mention gingerbread. But if it were me I would since it might be more difficult to dig up a kernel for froyo

I don't actually need the kernel to boot though. I just a recovery to flash the Rom. Would that work?

You need gb bootloader to get onto cm9, as far as I'm aware, hence the need

I see you have an i9000m and on Virgin - franchisee of Bell.
Follow these instructions
[HOWTO] Flashing CWRecovery to i9000m & upgrade to ICS AOSP 4.x ROM from any version
Branch off to whatever ICS rom you want.
You'll definitely need to be using the cm7-kg3 modem for any ICS rom going forward. That means after every new ROM flash you'll have to flash the KG3 modem. Once you are upgrading within a ROM, you won't have to re-flash the modem each time.
If you use a firmware from the first link I gave you there are firmware. with bootloaders.
The links contain everything you need...firmware....kernel to get cwm....Cm9....and radio zip

Thanks guys, im going for it pretty soon here. You guys are awesome.
For the first time in my life, kies just connected to a phone. I cant handle it. I think im gonna pass out in disbelieve.
Anyway... lol.
Can i just update to gingerbread kg3 from kies?
Yes, but you may have a difficult time finding a kernel with cwm for kg3.
×Slim Rom×
and now i cant get into recovery mode. Just download mode. I downloaded the stock firmware from samfirmware, and was gonna flash it with odin, but which file to i put it under? Its just a single tar ball
EDIT: For some reason i have to use power volume up AND down and home. Wierd.
I always use firmware from the link I gave you...just flash jw5 from link with 512 pit....then root with semaphore 2.7.4.tar from second link....easy.
×Slim Rom×
I will try that now. Cause im bootlooping with CF root.
After that you can flash cm9 in cwm...additionally slim 4.1...then slim common....then the Kg3 modem zip in cwm as well.

was happy that you went through the process fine. Slim 4.2 is out now
I gave it back to him and he is getting sleep of death. He was using CPU settings of 1000max 100min W/ Lulzactive governor
I have never had this so, Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi everybody,
I'm on ZG ROM (based V30B) and I've seen in Huexxxx's post that I must use smart flash tool and flash new baseband. My question is: can I flash IZS without flashing new baseband?

No it's not possible !
Sv: ZEUS ICS without baseband
If you have a v30 baseband you can flash it and if you don't have it you must first flash that.

No, you don't HAVE to flash v30 baseband. However if you run into baseband related problems then you should. For instance I did not because there is no baseband for my area anyway and it works fine aside from seeing "unknown baseband" in about phone.

i ahve the same problem in another rom, nemesis X, baseband unknown, but all seem to work fine except the timezone auto detection that does not work so i had to update time manualy. my biggest question, which baseband should i flash, in my country LG didnt realse a stock v30xx. only stock v10e is the latest update. so what should i do if i run into problems, i can always fallback to another rom or throw this damn phone.
do you know what baseband should i install? since im realy not sure what to do.
thanks
Sol
Chances are it'll be fine with whichever baseband is available. I personally like the idea of using my regions baseband even if it is outdated. I've been on other baseband before and everything generally works. So take your pick if you really want to. But as I said before it is NOT necessary to hop onto IZS.

ok, my idea is that it is higly risky flash a baseband which I don't know what is it. if something going wrong, I think will be very difficult come back (Smart flash with gingerbread again). I keep my "unknown baseband" on my phone and wait for next release: in the IZS post I'm reading a lot of problem posts. I will wait.
thx
