[Q] Modding .SO and .APK in v5 Camera Mod - LG Optimus 4X HD

Hi,
I would like to MOD the .SOs and .APKs to custom ISOs during video and picture taking, to e.g. 1600 ISO or make this ISO option appear in the ISO menu of the modded camera app.
How do I do this?
Thanks,
roesti

Moved from thread to make it easier for me to keep tabs:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1055026
Working LG Camera mod Latest [Camera-1.1.3.4].
Recomended version for froyo:
Camera-1.1.3.4_44-96.zip
Video enhancements:
-1080p @ 30fps in all quality settings.
-No recording sound fix.
-Memory buffer increase for extra speed (no real impact)
-Audio bitrate increased from 64kbps to 128kbps for 720p, 96kbps for 1080p and sample rate increased from 22khz to 44khz for all bitrates - should fix crackling sound experienced by some.
-Increased (Variable) video quality for 1080p and 720p:
(Found under video quality in the menu for each resolution)
-1080P SUPER_FINE_ENCODER_BITRATE 9mb to 17mb
-1080P FINE_ENCODER_BITRATE 7mb to 14mb
-1080P NORMAL_ENCODER_BITRATE 5mb to 11mb
-720P SUPER_FINE_ENCODER_BITRATE 4mb to 13mb
-720P FINE_ENCODER_BITRATE 3mb to 11mb
-720P NORMAL_ENCODER_BITRATE 2mb to 9mb
-Increased video preview fps to 40fps to decrease screen tearing while recording.
Image enhancements:
-Attempt to increase image resolution for 8mp.
-Attempt at brightness fix.
-Increased quality setting file size (doubled).
GPS fix/tweak for Australian residence:
-GPS_FasterFix_Oceania.zip
To install:
No need to rename the zip, just copy to sdcard, boot to CMW, select "install zip from sdcard" then select "choose zip from sdcard" and flash.
or
Extract the camera.apk from the required zip file, copy to memory card and use root explorer to delete current camera.apk file then copy to system/app folder.
Possible future to do list:
-Enable Continuous Autofocus in video recording option.
-Enhance tweak for Photo quality higher bitrate.
-Tweak custom camera options to stick once restarted stored here:
/data/data/com.android.camera/shared_prefs/arc_camera_prefs.xml
-60fps mod (should be interesting, aim is for 720p).
-Custom requests.
-Add user configurable settings in menu.
-Transparent menu?
-Fix for bottom black bar covering setting menu image in video mode.
-Raw image file format.
-Option to pause video while recording, similar to Nokia N8 feature.
Note:
-Reports state working with 64mb mod kernels, use compatible version Camera-1.1.3.4_22-64.zip.
-Currently only working for froyo/stock/modaco roms.
-Use Camera-1.1.3.4_22-64.zip if any1 is having audio issues with new build, 22khz/64kbps.
-GPS_FasterFix_Oceania.zip flash in CWM.
-3 builds:
Camera-1.1.3.4_44-128.zip - @ 17mb + highest quality audio 44khz/128kbps, (some have experienced crackling in recordings tho not myself).
Camera-1.1.3.4_44-96.zip - @ 17mb + Normal quality audio 44khz/96kbps, best compromise between avg fps and sound quality.
Camera-1.1.3.4_22-64.zip - @ 17mb + default stock audio 22khz/64kbps for original LG build + my tweaks.
Give credit to whom ever mods this if using in roms etc, if you wish to make a mod or help mod feel free to drop me a line and i can assist you.

of coz this is good, but what is the disadvantages of this?
Not to much hopefully, definately a reduced memory card capacity tho as files are BIG.
Still working out the best bitrate to use for video recording, I think 720p could be reduced by half 8mb as it makes almost zero difference to quality imho, what do you think?

Only problem is that now I have to flash away from cm7 to check it out .
I'm pleasantly surprised the hardware is actually capable of it.
didnt work at cm, get fc

[ REQ / FLASH ] Sense Camera with PANO&HDR mode

It seems that Leedroid Rom support HTC Camera with panoramic and HDR mode.. (tnx Lee )i'm asking to m(g)ods if its possibile to extract the apk and relative dependencies to have a working Camera on other roms too ( specially ARHD,lol ) Why? Because Panoramic mode in HTC Camera is fantastic! its the best. no rivals. photos are 90% merged correctly and the result is always awesome!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT:
i've taken the files and the lib from Lee Rom and make a flashable zip..tried,and:
HDR works;
PANO works first time, then it gets stuck, and killing camera from task manager cause FC all applications who use camera until reboot.
I have to find some other files in the framework that have camera dependencies..its a good start btw
For those who wanna try,i've uploaded a restore zip that will put back original ARHD files.

Hm, it should work without any app, because you have Android Revolution running which includes Sense 3.0 by stock.
And my camera app is also from this.
Are you sure there is no support for panorama and HDR?
Have you looked under Effects in the Menu?

I think there's a problem with sensor..when i press shoot button and move around the line in the middle of the screen just freeze ..i think there must be some other lib to include for the sensor work properly..
And i'm wondering if HDR is working too. I can't discover any major changes in the quality of the shots taken. Or am i missing something (of have to do something extra, like wipe cache)?
From what i understand of photography, to make a HDR picture, either you have a sensor with a a larger bit depth, that is then compressed to the standard 8bit + color maping,
or you take 2+ fotos at a different exposure, "blend" them to get the most of shadows and highlights making for a greater bit depth, and then compress to the standard 8bit + color mapping.

yes,but in this case its a "artificial" HDR effect. when photo is taken the software creates a duplicate with different exposure and then blends photo toghether.so you will have HDR effect. btw i can see that pano and hdr doesn't work in this thread too..but in that case only camera apk provided. My flash file takes out some other system files used in the past by seo (credits to him) to port sense 3 camera with HDR&PANO to 2.5 based roms. I thought it would work btw there is someone who is on leedroid rom that can confirm if lee'camera is working good?

How to increase stock EUI camera image quality?

Anyone know how to change the stock camera image quality? I am using a stock EUI rom and like the stock camera, though it looks like its compressing the images it saves to jpeg, I think its set at 90% by default? I know Footej and Open Camera allow you to take uncompressed pictures and change this setting, but I like the HDR feature on stock and havent found another camera app that can match it.
Is it the media profiles xml file that needs to be edited in system/etc or another method of modifying the stock image quality?
Thanks

Slow shutter/long exposure mod?

Is there any way to take long exposure shots anymore? I found and flashed an old Magisk module but it only made the camera crash

There is a 3rd party app which kinda does that using software. But the resolution could be low, the maximum supported size is 1280x960 at best (paid version).
Check this out at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.longexposure2

Take photos when the light is low, the default camera will give low resolution. And this will give higher image resolution should look clearer.

My experience is the Gcam apps don't use the camera config xml, only the oem camera app that comes with the lgv30. The Gcam ports, some of them, have 'night vision', which work very well in low light shots.
How would one even apply this to the default camera?

That would depend on your phones setup, but, most have rooted devices with magisk installed. If that's the case for you, then you'd have to have a magisk module that would 'seamlessly' make the changes in your root directory.
In this link I created a module for the 4k video 60fps change. It would be pretty easy for someone to modify the config xml in that module and apply this change.
cheers
Would it be as simple as deleting the folders containing media details XML and replacing the camera config with this one?
