Hey guys, I've encountered quite the problem with my N7.. I was flashing PA onto it, and it didn't work out, so I tried going back to what I had before, but my folders had gotten all messed up for some reason, and long story short, whenever I flash a new ROM while factory resetting, it doesn't work (can't access folders, can't connect via usb (or when I can I can't edit files or move stuff onto there), managed to get a file manager installed but when I put my CWM backup in the right spot it wouldn't restore.. **** hit the fan), and I can't get my computer to recognize it in fastboot mode, help?
For the record at this point I'm okay with relocking the bootloader and unlocking it for a full and complete wipe, but it won't even let me do that much..
Nvm finally with the help of a toolkit i got fastboot to reply... guess it just needed to be polled a bunch of times, was really weird :S

So today i was clearing out some stuff, after deleting all the apk files i downloaded.
i went to the system folder. i see this folder named App, i went in it, i see all these Apk files, so i thought they're just the file you use to install those applications. so i selected all, then deleted everything.
Then, a lot of things popped out, and this one wouldn't go away, it says Android.Phone stopped working. so i took my batteries out, and rebooted it. But it just shows the LG logo, then the loading, then starts over again.
I tried Volume Up + Power key, it just showed a the rest box thing, but after a bit, it just restarted the repeating process.
And i can't connect my phone to my computer because you have to set the USB mode on, while the phone is on.
ANY help?. Please. three year contract, and i have no clue what to do.

try the nvflash method to flash a stock ROM....by the way have you rooted your device?on custom ROM?have u a backup if you are rooted?
check in the dev thread if you bare rooted and want to flash the nvflash...
hope it helps
You seem to have root, because without you could not access the system folder. To get in the recovery menue you need to push and hold power + vol down(!) on your off-switched device. From there, restoring a nandroid-backup would be the easyest way. If you didnt made a backup, you can get back to a stock rom with smartflash and nvflash but you will loose your data.

I don't think he has CWM, Only a rooted device so it will be hard for him to get his /system back without any Backup...
Try NVFlash method or Smartflash, located in the Android Development section of this Forum.
I fail to understand why would someone be messing in the system folder without having a full backup

I have tried that, and got CWM now, i don't mind losing all my data, but. Is just that i've gotten an external SD card from one of my old phone, and i put a ROM on it. But I can't seem to find the External SD card anywhere on the phone. _ExternalSD has basically nothing in it. Anyway to get it?...
I rooted my phone before i deleted the system files. But does it matter now that I wiped everything?.....AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
OMG i fixed it, i mounted the USB, then put the ROM in the internal SD card, THANK YOU GUYS
Hi I've searched some, and I haven't found anything for this setup. My captivate was working fine when I last used it a while back but when I turned it on, for a few weeks now, its been stuck in a boot loop. The problem is that I have never flashed custom roms or anything, its just been its stock- update as officially released, etc. Also, aside from that, I don't have any backups of anything because of computer issues. Is there anything I could do to just get it going again without chancing loosing all of the pictures I have on there?

Can you get to Download and / or recovery modes?
You could try a Factory Reset from recovery. All that I have read says that it does not delete pictures and music. You are likely to loose apps you have downloaded and the app data. (Double check to insure this is correct.)
If a factory reset does not work things get a bit more complicated. For example, you could possible move files from your phone to your PC using adb if you can get to download mode.

From what I've still been researching, anything factory reset is supposed to completely wipe everything on the phone. Is there any way to backup or get anywhere with download mode, because I can get into download mode, but it doesn't register with my computer so I don't know what I can do from it.
Ok so long story short: I installed Cyanogenmod onto my HTC One using their installer, used it for a month or so and decided to flash it back to stock, but not before flashing a Google Play Edition rom (Android Revolution's). The rom got me stuck in a bootloop which i've read should be pretty easy to get out of, however my computer won't recognize my phone. I've also done something while trying to clear caches and what not that says the phone isn't rooted. I've tried to re-root it but since i can't drop the file into my sd file (can't see my phone on my computer) i can't do that either. Whenever i do try to reboot out of bootloader i get stuck at the HTC loading screen. I can get the red FASTBOOT USB and my comp dings when i plug in, but i can't see my phone. I've tried re-downloading drivers. Device manager sees my phone, but i can't access my sd card. I also can't get abd push to work either.
I'm pretty damn new to all this...probably started playing around prematurely. I've read quite a few tutorials so i'm not completely dense as to how all this works, but pretty close to it. If i could just get my computer to see my device, get the root and a new rom file on my sd, i'm pretty sure i could figure the rest out. Also, my apologies if this has been answered before; I did some digging an didn't see anything that helped my issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Also...i should probably mention that i was playing around with the format /system etc commands in CMW recovery...and it's likely i may have rebooted at some point afterwards....so i'm pretty sure that is what is causing the HTC screen issue, but I still feel my main issue here is the inability to get any zip files or anything for that matter onto my sd.
Once again...any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
So this is my first xda thread. I spent hours searching without finding a solution for my particular case.
I am using a LG L90 D415 (T-Mobile version) and I got bored of it and so I started playing with the system (not the first phone I'm doing that with, so I know a bit about that sutff). So I tried to install the new Android L home launcher from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2796019
I did everything like explained, installed it and changed the build.prop like described. But after I rebooted my phone, expecting a new home launcher, the phone boots, I am at the lockscreen, but after like 4 seconds I receive multiple errors (like gapps stopped working) and than everything freezes and it reboots.
Unfortunaly I didn't install a recovery or unlocked fastboot. So I can access download mode, but that's it. My computer doesn't see my phone (because usb debugging deactivated?) and so I don't know what to do. I think that's a pretty tough case but I hope some smart person can help me
Thank you

No custom recovery and no fastboot? Factory reset is your only option. See this post. Scroll down to Q14. Even though it's titled something else, the same button presses apply for your device in it's current state, ie; no recovery, no fastboot

First thanks for the fast answer. So I figuered that I only need to delete the build.prop file and replace it with my backup file. Isn't there any way to rescue my files and/or access the /system folder? I'm an exchange student now and I don't wanna lose my picture memories
And btw I know that I build the perfect worst case scenario right now
Oh and in the L90 faq it says that when you flashed a recovery and you navigate to factory reset it won't reset but boot into recovery. Does something like this work even without recovery, so I could try doing stuff with adb?

If adb isn't detecting the phone, no. There isn't any other way.

Unfortunately, no.
Factory reset will not erase your sdcard. It will however erase internal data. It will return the phone to the state it was in the first time it was powered on.
Well I'm very, very scared. I stupidly decided to start afresh on stock, as things had been buggy on the cyanogen nightlies (surpirse surprise)
So I went into TWRP and did advanced wipe, and deleted the system and internal memory. I had backup up a nandroid backup onto my pc a while ago but restored my PC and forgot to put it back again.
I'm stuck in recovery mode, and I thought I would be fine right? Just put the zip file onto the "Internal Storage" section on windows. First it won't let me copy it; ok I unplug and plug it in again. Now its not showing under windows. I do /adb devices and its showing up. My question is I need to do /adb push aosp.zip (phone). But what is the "path" of the top of internal storage? I'm super scared right now. Because doesn't "USB Debug" have to be enabled??? Please help me....
With all that is going on, it just seems you may want to do a total reset. Meaning, reset even your boot loader and recovery. Best option imo is to download the official nexus 6 factory image, and use fastboot commands to install it on your device. It sucks to start from scratch, but its better than damaging the device.
Right about now wug's nexus root tool kit would be your friend.
I Got It Fixed Thank GOD
Sorry guys, sorta panicked, just got my nexus yesterday I don't know why windows wasn't picking it up, but when I ran
Code:
/adb push aosp.zip /
and nothing happened I was so scared and quit cmd and tried again. But then I tried, came posted here, and realised it was just taking a few minutes to copy So a few minor problems from there, but I am now up and running! Thanks for the suggestions anyway. Gotta sleep now up wayyy to late and need to wake up early tomorrow Thanks a bunch anyways!
PS: I have no idea how to mark as solved.... So if a mod see this
