Hi all,
I totally broke my screen during NYE (alcohol is not good for certain things )
I would like to get data from my apps but unfortunately I can neither see what's on the screen or click on it directly.
My phone is on CM10.1, adb is enabled.
I used to get my data from adb once but I forgot that in newer versions of CM, root is allowed only to apps by default.
Tried to use screencast, I see the screen but I can't click.
I also tried a app called mymobiler, problem is I need at a certain point to click on the screen to allow it.
last solution I tried was to send a adb comand to backup the phone but here again I need to click the screen to confirm.
I see only two solutions, maybe you guys can help :
First one would be to simulate a click on the exact point where is the "allow" box for superuser, this would allow me to use those apps
Try to make a titanium backup within adb, titanium backup is already granted root so it could work, but don't know if it's possible ..
Many thanks in advance for your help
Just get the screen replaced? Shouldn't affect your data.

screen itself worth 250 $, I'd rather get my data back if possible and wait for a nexus 4 availability ..
I would restart the phone in recovery if is possible then connect adb using USB cable, then probably can adb pull some important files from internal sdcard.

adb is the only possible way to my knowledge..
EDIT: You can try enabling Input touches option from developers options and use mirror cast with it. I think its worth a shot.

Already tried, seems like data is not available in recovery unless you mount it ..
To mount it, I need to see the screen :/

Same thing, I have no access to the screen, I can neither see or touch the screen.
I was also thinking about getting a mhl cable to connect a mouse, but again, blind screen ..

Did you ever get this resolved? I am in the same place :-(
I guess it is true that "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing"
Try using psouzas tools to help you redo this

If your /system/app is pure, you could install the pulled OTA update.
its unfortunately not, I tried to copy some APK's back that id deleted through root explorer
yeh tried BP Tools as well. factory reset so USB debugging would be disabled... is there any other way to use adb? any way to enable debugging?
if u use bp tools I heard it enables adb. I test drived this today and I was able to get adb using the bp tools method even though im not bootlooping or anything

i would tell u to remote install or voice shortcut into the market & install USBDebug but you cant even get to the android/setup screen...

no idea about permissions. possibly. the replacement apps were straight from a
Hello,
Unfortunately, my screen is broken (the colours are messed up completely) . I wish to sell my phone for spare parts, so how do i make sure everything is wiped /deleted from the phone?
Factory reset or if you have stock kernel hard reset.Search for code on internet or use sgs tools from market.
Stock JVS with semaphore 1.7.0bm
after that via adb clear internal sdcard from all crap

the thing is, i cannot use the screen to do the reset.. how do i hard reset via usb?
Are you sure it boots? Can you call it?
Btw why you want to wipe it so much?
Service center ignores the system with broken screen, they will not belive you that it broke by itself - it is gorilla glass.
And when you will pay for new phone front noone will care what system is installed as long as it boots

Ah ok you want to sell it.
Boot it to recovery and go on with adb, because i assume youre rooted.
Well i would do it via adb but half brained monkey will recover data if he wants to

After deleting anything from system folders and so called internal sdcard go on with odin and repartition at download mode.
Shoul be fine
But i hope someone will explain it better

thanks for the help up to now..
anyone else ?:-/
New method found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19390207#post19390207
If you run this and it doesn't root you try wiping data from Setting>privacy and wipe the internal storage as well. I did that and it worked for me. Granted I didn't try this method without wiping my internal. If nothing else it cleans it up for you.
Were do I click run.bat?

Ok, so whatever changes you made ... it seems to work better in a virtual windows environment
Before it would get stuck at "daemon started succesfully"
now it goes through to "Installing Root Tools..."
but then I get a string of error messeages
either "device offline" or "device not found"
then "cleaning up" ... device not found
then "rebooting" ...device not found
then it freezes
when I unplug my device or toggle debugging mode it continues to say "root complete"
.... so close.
So If I'm rooted on Z4? then I still need to unroot and upgrade to Z6 for this to work?
Thanks a lot man for such this easy one-click-root tool.
Thanks mt! Worked great first time! You are the savior of the LG Revolution.
Does this mean I have to start donating 10% of my pay??

I am sure I should know this answer, but what mode do I need to set the phone in when I connect to the computer? I'm assuming mass storage mode is not going to fly.

Hey folks, so my gt-i9305 hit the deck and the screen/digitiser cracked. Phone works fully from what I can tell just no touch screen. Can still use voice commands etc so I know it works
Was wondering if there was a way to grab the info or perform a backup without 1: a working screen and 2: no access to a pc (bloody hard drive failed)
Running twrp for recovery and the galaxy project rom. (can't remember which version though)
I'm kinda in a bit of a rush as insurance are sending a new phone so need to get this stuff off asap.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If it can only be done via pc, any links or instructions would be great as searching on Tapatalk is painful at the best of times. Thanks

Would it be possible to connect to PC and use ADB shell to perform backup then copy the file? I don't have the knowledge myself but could be worth a try.

I accidentally wiped all the data on my HTC in TWRP as I was trying to upgrade to a different ROM, but it failed.
I can get into BOOTLOADER, but it comes up saying *** TAMPERED *** and *** UNLOCKED ***.
I can also get into Team Win Recovery Project v2.6.3.3.
When the phone boots it stays on the HTC screen and doesn't get any further because there's no ROM installed.
I've heard of ADB to try and push the ROM onto the phone, but can't find a tutorial on how to do it.
Any help which be much appreciated.
while in recovery:
Put your ROM file in the same folder as ADB
adb push your_rom_filename.zip /sdcard/
Back out so you can click on the install file on sdcard option and viola...

My computer doesn't even recognize the HTC! I've tried several different leads, including 2 genuine ones I bought off of eBay and it still doesn't detect it, doesn't even make a sound when I connect it! I've tried all the USB ports on my computer and have even tried using ADB/Fastboot on Ubuntu, but it still doesn't work!
