I change the modem. It work for 3 minutes (i did 2 calls and it works). after 3 minutes no network available (only emergency call)..

Are you certain it's not network related? Maybe the signal reception is poor.
If not, you may have to re-flash your Rom.

I reflash... the phone won't works.
If i search the network it show me the operator's network but if i try to connect with my operator network: "impossible to connect now. try again later" (i think it's this the message in english).
last month i send the phone to samsung and they replace the antenna. so i don't think it's an hardware problem...

Wi fi works perfect.
Normal signal no. one time every fifty it's work and take the signal. If I switch on and off again the areomode signal not work again.

[Q] Galaxy s i9000 Australian Baseband

hello, I was on darkys rom v9.5, was having serious problems with battery drain, and occasionally device would swich off by itself.
So i decided to try stock 2.2.1, its fast, battery is a lot better, BUT i have no data connection. I still can make calls Gps and wifi but no data connection. I used a european firmware and flashed the eurpean modem on there by mistake. I'm downloading an australian version of 2.2 and gonna try just the modem baseband from that, while remaining on 2.2.1. hope it works!
My question is does anyone know the best baseband firmware (quickest, most efficient on battery) to use in australia? .... maybe post a link
my network is virginmobile if that helps.
get on to Darky 10.1 extreme edition. Its a 2.3.3 rom will be 10 times better than 2.2, i use ZSJPG modem and is good in melbourne.

[Q] Wifi speed issues with 2.3.4

I'm experiencing incredibly slow WIFI since upgrading a ROM and wondered if there is anything I can do about. 200k down - 20k up and pings anywhere from 600ms to 1500ms. It also fails and reconnects.
Could the problem be related to the modem that was installed with the ROM? I'm unsure is this effects wifi speed? 3G is fine and running as it normally would.
If it isn't the modem what is the nest way of diagnosing issues with WIFI? what should I try re-installing / overwriting?
It's one niggle in a very stable smooth ROM.
I'm running the following if this helps anyone;
Phone model is a GT-I9000
firmware - 2.3.4
baseband I9000XXJVQ
kernel - 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVQ-CL281085 Ficetobeast #darkcore_2.9.2_JVQ
Build Number - DarkyROM JVQ v10.2

try a different kernel as i do believe wifi drivers are contained within the kernel
Many thanks. Is the modem part of the Kernel then? Should I try the darkyrom site to see if they have a different kernal for their ROM?

no, the modem is seperate, some people say modem effects wifi, others refute this...from personal experience i have found quite big differences with kernels, so yes, try on darkys thread for suggestions for alternative kernels

[Q] WiFi dissconnects on 2.3.5+ firmwares

Hey there.... was just wondering... Is there really no way to solve the wifi bug in the 2.3.5+ firmwares ?
I did check other threads but ... changing router settings is not an option for me...
Tnx in advance
I never encountered this kind of problem, try flashing the new JVU, or ICS....
I was using JVT with Semaphore 1.8 for a long time and I never had this problem....
I had this problem when I moved from Froyo 2.2.1 to Gingerbread 2.3.3. I solved it for me by flashing the modem (baseband) from Froyo 2.2.1 that I had been using before.
Now I am on 2.3.5, still with the Froyo modem.
Very stable.
I tryed every single version of android available for SGS ... and first time i encountered this problem was with the 2.3.5 firmware like many other SGS users ... thats why i`m asking for a solution ..
tnx anyway you 2
I fixed this by going into my router software and setting dhcp lease time from always to 2days.

This problem is a known bug in the 2.3.5 firmwares i had this bug too after uprading form 2.3.4 to 2.3.5. To solve the problem you have to change the DHCP leasetime in your router from "for ever" to any other value like 2 weeks(every other value except "for ever" will work). If you don't want to change your router settings you have to live with this bug or downgrading to 2.3.4(with JVR i didn't have this bug). As i know there isn't an other solution for this problem..
I've got this bug in 2.3.6 as well but like I said changing lease time fixed it.
Sent from my GT-I9001 using Tapatalk
Yes that could be. I didn't try any of the 2.3.6 firmwares so I can not confirm this. But if he doesn't want to change anything in his router he could try the 2.3.4 JVR. With this Firmware the bug definitly does not appear
So at the end he has to decide if he wants the latest firmware with changin the routersettings or has an older firmware without changin the routersettings
tnx guys but that i know ... but as i said in my first post ... changing router settings is not an option .... since i have no access to the router at my work ...
That is why i wanted to know if there was any other chance to fix that other then flasing 2.3.4 or changing settings on the router
Possibly try fixed IP on your phone?
What if you flash latest XXJVU 2.3.6 rom and modem from JVR?
Should be worth a try since Froyo modem goes well with 2.3.5

Nothing works ... i get disconnects on every modem .. no matter FroYo or GB
Tnx for the effort all guess ill just have to stick with 2.3.4
Try to change kernel to Semaphore or Midnight.
The latest of those kernels run any version of GB.

[Q] LG OB P970 mobile network

Hi and sry for my bad english
I have a OB with CM7 # 60 nightly and i'm impressed by the speed of my phone but..
the problem is since a few days my mobile network disconnects often for a few minutes. Thats really stupid because if I want do download a update, app, rom or something like that the connections always cuts off.
So i considered to flash the new official GB Rom and than flash the CM, so maybe i have a newer Version of Baseband. Would this work? or is there a better solution?
maybe interesting:
CM7 # 60 nightly
ClockworkMod 5.0.2.6
Huexxx V4 kernel
BasebandVersion: 1035.23_20110707
Thanks for the help.
phil
Better use Nova Kernel and not Huexxx, since this seems to have more bugs... But just guessing... Give it a shot and report
I tried the Nova V11c kernel but my problem isn't solved
Is there something else what I can try out?
phil
what's a kernel? I installed cyanogenmod with the rom manager app. It was corrible, so then I tried the zeus custom rom, but the soft key lights still don't work. Do I need to install a kernel? Where do I get a kernel? I just want a phone that works as LG said it should!
I flashed the "zeus"-Rom.
now i have baseband version: XMM6160
problem solved

which modem you have?
Update the modum, and flash a other (semaphore) kernel.
Sent from my SGS running ICS with the XDA premium app!
how do I know my modem version ? is it I9000XXJVU ?
to have your modem version, Go to System Settings -> About -> Baseband version.
Installation of RC4.2 flash I9000XXJVU Modem.
