So my friend has an HTC HD7 and he accidently set a screen lock on it while he was sleeping. Is there any way for him to unlock it? He doesnt want to lose all his pics and stuff. Thanks in advance!
there is no way, backup yr stuff ( all that can be synced in zune)
and hard reset the device using the power and vol buttons.
google for more on how to do this.

The screen is locked after a bad password was only 2 mins but since the battery went dead the date has changed back to Jan will now take and it 200000 mins to until i can put my password in.
How can i get round this problem.

I am unable to connect phone to laptop as it says it is locked. When i plug it in i get the password box up on the phone but it does not seem to except my pin. since losing power whilst locked for 2 min. I charged the battery and powered it on now the time out the phone is 200000mins and the date says Jan 2011

Hard reset it is then. Power phone off completely, hold down both volume buttons while you power it back on again.

yes hard reset deletes all your contacts pics applications applications any other data u put!! It's like getting a brand new phone...
Its better to keep backup in Zune regularly and sync the contacts with live or google....

can someone please help me my power button on my htc doesnt work anymore since a month i goth no problem with it because i instal some apps for the replacment with aproximeter for turn on. But what happend yesterday my little girl was playing a game and she forget to plug it in till it was empty. Now i charge it till 100 prosent but cant find a way to turn it on without the power button. I dont have a garrancy annymore to turn it back please help

I guess you should call HTC and get a quote for the fix. I don't think there is another way to turn it back on.

You don't have friends or relatives in Holland where you can send in too? But check htc' warranty policy maybe they give you world wide warranty

i got many friends and relatives there but i will try other methods first if they are and no i allready check htc center here they dont give world wide warrancy. but thanks for your effort. dank u wel
try holding one of the volume buttons while pressing power. a friend of mine had the same problem and his power button only worked this way. good luck!

I allready did that but thx and it didnt work. I also open the back cover for im desprate cause i thought maybe i can press the power button better this way but also that didnt work. I saw something in youtube but it was for the galaxy s2 and the you use a (JIG) to automatic booting the phone and also there was a way to flash the phone and that way it automatic turn on. My question is there something like a jig or a flash software that can do that for the htc one

well if you have already disassembled the phone, order a new power button and change it yourself

last idea I got: old cyanogenmods booted the phone when an usb was plugged in (when usb debug was on)
Try holding the power button with the phone directly under a lamp until it boots. Sounds weird but it worked for me. I remember reading that somewhere...

it's pretty difficult to install anything on a phone that's turned off
thx everyone but it still doesnt work. And HTC indonesia dont want to take it back for repairs must send it to Holland. I know one thing i will never buy a htc anymore couple years ago i bought also a htc (desire) and that problem was it keep heating up and rebooting. With this one i got problems with the cam on low lights and then came the power button problem.

Now my problem is on my phone are important data that i want to restore, but its not possible to start the device anymore.
When i press the power button nothing happens, when i plug in the powercable and press the power button it stats until the HTC Logo apears, then it shut down.
I try many time to enter the bootloader but it isnt possible.
Has anyone an idea how i can save my data?

if you can't boot in bootloader mode, there is nothing you can do yourself. Important data should be backed up on a regular basis

There is no known way to extract the storage card and connect this to the PC ?
SD card? Remove it and use a card reader. I'm assuming you mean internal memory??

Storage card? Umm no there is no card in the m7. Opening up your phone won't help u. If you can't get it to boot up you are pretty much screwed

I have a constant black screen on my HTC One Mini 2, havnt dont any updates or changes to the system files. It just all of a sudden stopped working, when I press the lock button and press near the bottom of the screen I can fell the vibrations from the lock screen. I cant reboot it as it wont turn off without getting past the lock screen. Can anyone suggest any help? Also could someone link the RUU as I cant find it anywhere, I have been searching for hours and I cant find it.

1- by lock button do you mean power button?
2- volume down and power will reboot. (takes 10 seconds) Lot of people asked htc to fix this security issue but still exists
2- no RUU available yet only stock TWRPrecovery
note - sounds like you phone got hardware problems. if still in guarantee, send it to HTC

Thx for the reply, this is driving me mad.
1. I did mean power button, my bad.
2. Have tried the Volume down and power button, nothing happens. Pretty sure it doesn't even reboot.
3. Although a hardware issue is a likely cause, I have found that alot of people with HTC phones have had this issue and have fixed it with a factory reset (why I wanted the RUU, which is a bummer that there isn't one).

OK try this:
(you need htc drivers and adb/fastboot tools - extract to a folder and open command line)
in comand line type:
adb devices (if detected continue)
adb reboot (this will reboot your phone)
or
adb recovery (this will reboot into recovery mode where you can factory reset)

The device is recognized when plugged in and by windows explorer, but the adb devices command does not list the device, any ideas? Also thx for the help so far.

make sure you have latest htc drivers installed. use htc sync to get them. check in device manager if Android Device>my HTC is listed

Device manager is picking up the device as HTC One mini 2, and it says the driver is up to date, but the adb still says there isnt a device connected.
Volume up + power button is the combination to make it reboot, not down...

I never actually read the message in phone when pressing vol- and power. It says:

Dont take to HTC store.
Contact HTC online they will take care of you.
Collect and deliver. If its Hardware fault its free. (in my experience)

My daughter accidently enabled hard reset screen while trying soft reset, the screen is now locked onto the selection screen and will not exit or complete actions. Any help please.

Yes, tried all combinations and will not leave hard rest selection screen, will not connect to PC

power+vol+ should restart phone but if not the only option is run out of battery.

I had the same problem! It helped disassemble the phone and disable loop voltage (when screen works)
