[Q] flashable stock from cdcard? - Motorola Droid Bionic

hey hey , i have a slight problem, i was flashing a rom and got the status 7 gargabe.....anyways to make a long story short, i need to reset everything back to factory...problem is, i now have stock recovery and cant flash a custom rom.. if try , i get the assert fails crap...haha...i try to use the RDS thing, but the phone says " batt low...cannot program....transfer mode...usb.. "... i guess the batt is to low to use rds because i get error saying it failed to go into fastboot mode.....BUT, i CAN place rom on my SD CARD, and it reads it just fine, what i need is a ROM probly FACTORY that will not give me the assert failed messages....i guess it has to be 100% pure OTA or stock....can anyone HELP PLEASE?!!!!

Have a fully charged batt when phone is off press vol down and power and fast boot mode will come up. Have most recent drivers on computer for phone. Rsd lite and an fxz file. If you have all. Then when you plug your phone in with rsd up it should rec. Phone. Choose the fxz file and it will uncompress and install to phone.

[Q] Help to go back to stock, strange situation!!

Hello i will write the whole history...First of all i am newbie so,sorry for my mistakes,i will try to explain the best i can!
Yesterday my brother gave me his old Droid/Milestone phone..He had rooted it with CM7(Froyo version). I wanted to Hard reset and return it to stock so that i would make it as i wanted, just like i had a new phone..
First of all,my brother tried to make a backup from the loader but it stuck at "dumping..." step,so i removed the battery,i think that is the biggest mistake..?
After that i did the X+Power button way to make the hard reset from the menu it shows up if i press volume up+camera button. So i did this and it came up with the setup wizard,i make all the prefences and at the last step after the time and date it pops me up with a message that process com.android.setupwizard stopped unexpectedly and i have to force close it.After that the only thing i see in the screen is just a black screen and the bar on the top with time, date, battery level, and the thing i can do is receive and make calls!there is no menu at all!!!
If i try to reboot the phone it doesn't start at all,it stucks at CM7 logo and it won't procceed! the only way to go back to the black screen i told earlier is to make the steps above(hard reset->setup wizard->wizard error message->black screen and only phone calls)
The Model is A853
Can anyone help me ? i am freaking out :/ :/
PS.Sorry for the long post but i tried to explain everything!
Two options. Either flash a sbf using rsdlite. Or if you can get into openrecovery, flash the cm7 update zip again. Remember to wipe all and set ro.config.setupwizard to DISABLED in build.prop before flashing.

I agree with the above, but since you want a stock phone, flashing with RSD is simpler than fixing a CM7 (actually probably CM6, you mentioned Froyo....CM7 is Gingerbread).
1) Download RSD lite (search the forum)
2) find the right SBF file for your network/phone (this is the file you put into RSDlite to "flash" the phone back to stock (search the forum again...there are repositories)

Some Direction on entering Recovery and Flashing Please?

So I have sucessfully rooted the wife's original Verizon Moto Droid and I have installed CWM via ROM Manager. I have performed a backup of her current ROM.
From the looks of things here, I will just load the ROM I want to flash onto her sd card and then flash it via ROM Manager. Is this correct? If it fails half way through the flash, can I still enter CWM via a key sequence to re-flash/restore the phone to its original state using the backup on the card from ROM Manager?
Someone mentioned to me using the project elite ROM due to its stability. I can't find a link to that. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I gave her this phone when I bought my Samsung Droid Charge when it came out back last March. I can flash ROMs & Kernels on that phone all day long but the Moto Droid is an entirely different animal. I want to be sure of my fail-safes before I flash anything here.
Thanx In Advance for Your Help
Okay ... cwm just didn't take the first time I flashed it. I am now able to enter CWM from a powered off state.
[Q] If I flash a rom and it doesn't take half way through the flash, will I still be able to enter cwm and install the backup of her current rom? That ROM is not in a zip format on the sd card. It is a tar file and the other components in a folder.
I want to be sure I can recover the phone if I experience a bad flash before I attempt anything. Remember, this is my WIFE'S phone !!! LOL
Any help appreciated.
Edit: Also, I installed RSD lite on my computer but when I open it and hook the phone up, it doesn't see the phone. At least, from what I can tell it doesn't. I click 'show' device and nothing happens. Is this a flashing tool or do I put the ROM on sd card and flash via rom manager? And the fail-safe !! Gotta have the fail-safe !!!
1.) Make sure you have flashed CWM!
2.) If you have CWM flashed, and you made a nanodroid backup before you started flashing a rom, then yes, if it doesn't "take" halfway through the flash, you can pull the battery, hold the power button + X and then restore to your backup.
3.) The ROM needs to be a Zip file... it won't work if it's a .tar file (at least I don't think...never tried... lol)
4.) Yes you can recover your phone anytime as long as you can get into CWM and have a nanodroid backup. If you are bricked, this is where RSD lite comes in.
5.) RSD Lite is very picky, and there are many things that can go wrong. Make sure you have all the official motorola drivers installed onto your computer (Link:http://www.motorola.com/Support/US-...tware_and_Drivers/USB-and-PC-Charging-Drivers). Make sure you are running as administrator... Make sure that you are following the correct procedure (plug in phone when attached to computer via USB, let drivers install, power down phone, power on phone + UP direction). There are various threads on google on how to perform this if you're having problems.

And there's the rub... The backup from rom manager is not a zip file, so it has to be restored via rom mgr. That does me no good if I only have recovery !! How do I perform a nandroid backup? So I end up with a zip file?
Hmmm that's odd, no edit button .... maybe it goes away after x amt of time. At any rate, nevermind the above question about zandroid ... I found it ... that calls for a great big duh !!!
I do greatly apreciate you addressing my above questions. I feel I've got the direction now that I should be able to wing it from here.
Thanx Again and All The Best to You and Yours for the coming year.

[Q] WiFi "error" and rsd lite wont recognize my droid 3

Ok lets get this started, my first post here at XDA although I've used the site a million times, I have the stock .906 rom on the phone, First issue I'm having is the phone every-time i start it up or reboot it boots into ap flash mode, and I believe that is were most of my issues are coming from. I have had a rom on this phone. I can install Safe Strap or CWM, doesnt matter to me. WIFI wont turn on all it says is "error" and wont ever turn on. Also when i try to flash a rom using safe strap and install the rom in romslot 1, the phone again reboots into ap flash mode, and then it boots up to the stock rom again. Tryed starting all over and flashing with RSD Lite, but the program doesnt recognize so it wont continue the process that I need it to complete. Also tryed using the one click sbf and it just runs forever and doesnt ever continue. So with all that said, I've had mavrom on this phone with wifi working and everything and what im trying to accomplish is installing the avatar rom for the droid 3, but anything will do as long as my wifi works the rom doesnt matter to me... HELP PLEASE!
I've also tryed the one click sbf approach, but it stays at sending recovery and doesnt move for ever... IDK what to do anymore... its very aggravating

Hmm, well, the RSD Lite method with the latest SBF always works for me. This document by sd_shadow is a great resource, starting with this page: https://docs.google.com/document/d/...AeQXxSkaLPlBAAw/edit#bookmark=id.77zigoazhz70
The SBF files are here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/cdma_solana/list.php
You probably want the third one down. I ran this on my phone two weeks ago and it ran fine.

build.prop mistake

Hey all My friend gave me his Droid Bionic running ICS update and he said he was trying to get it to work with att BUT while in the process he tried to put in a different build.prop but he deleted the one out of his system folder. The phone boots on a black screen and will not connect to the pc he said he also tried doing the recovery thing to it,
So. No build.prop
Black screen boot.
And no way to mount.
Any ideas?

If the data on this phone is no longer needed, you could alway flash a stock JB 4.1.2 using RSD.
That'll surely fix all the problem except data loss.

You didn't state that you did this. So, I'll start with the obvious.
1. Fully charge and then power off the phone.
2. Press & hold the volume + and volume -.
3. Power on the phone.
4. Once the boot menu comes up, use volume - to move to AP Fastboot & select wit volume +.
5. Plug in the phone to your PC and run RSD Lite. Click Config>Flash modes>Fastboot Mode.
6. Flash the phone with ICS or JB.
If you choose BP SBF Flash, on the menu, RSD may not work right. If you try to downgrade it, you can brick it.
Let me know how it goes.

I would definitely not recommend flashing JB. Stay with ICS.
Once you go to JB you are locked down with lots of restrictions.
If you stay with ICS you can root easier, and you have more choices of custom roms that you can use.
If you go JB, you can only use JB custom roms.
You can use either safestrap or bootstrap if you stay with ICS. If you do JB, you are stuck with safestrap.
Stay with ICS! If you want JB, only use custom JB roms, don't flash them through RSD.

RSDLite does noto see the phone at all. Making it impossible to flash. I have tried 6 different cords including the one that came with the phone. And if you read one of my earlier posts you will see where I said rsd isn't working. I cant seem to figure out how to get it to work either. Ive done the drivers several times along with new cords..

Do you see a device in Windows Device Manager? Can you get to the menu I talked about on the phone. RSD won't see the phone if Windows doesn't load the drives correctly. Do you have the Android SDK loaded? That can help w/ manual flashing... and drivers. It's important to get the phone in the AP Fastboot mode to get the proper connectivity.

Can you get to AP fastboot? If so, you can then use this utility found here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207384
You would want to do the full wipe install of jelly bean, so option 1. This should make your phone basically factory new, where you'll have to reroot it and redo safestrap/CM.

I would try that, but when I start AP fastboot, it reads: battery low, cannot program. I have left it plugged in for 24 hours and still the same message. When I select BP tools, the battery icon shows up with a "?" sign in it instead of a charge percentage.
EDIT- It has begun recharging when I chose BP Diag, and I will update when I attempt to run the razr utility
I would like to say the utility worked! I am very happy that it was fixed. Thank you very much!
