[Q] Windows not recognising P7310 - Galaxy Tab 8.9 General

EDIT2:
Problem solved! The problem seemed to be with my computer, using a different one resolved the connectivity issues. The BSOD kept on poping up during the Odin flash. The tablet will show a screen saying te update went wrong en you have to connect to Kies. However, give it a factory reset and you will be able to boot normally. For me the blue screen popped up 4 times, the fifth time it worked. So I guess, just keep trying!
___EDIT1____
Ok, so I was finally able to get the tablet connected to a different computer. I tried flashing the stock ICS firmware via Odin, however I get a blue screen on my PC during the process. I am able to restart both my PC and the tablet, so I can also get into download mode. I have tried it 3 times, blue screen keeps on popping up.
What to do??
_____________
Hello all!
I've had lurked around here some months ago, learning how to root my tab and how to install a custom rom. Now that Samsung has finally come with their update (ICS ) I'm trying to install this update on my p7310. I have donwloaded the correct software from sammobile.com, however, my PC (Win 7) does not recognize the tab when connecting via USB, so I'm unable to use Odin. Win 7 shows the device status: ''Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)''.
I have tried re-installing Kies, have re-installed the drivers from this thread, have tried it on all the USB ports and have tried two different USB cables. I have tried it with both 'USB Debugging' turned on and off and have given it a reset/data wipe.
The tablet is able to charge normally via the wall charger and does charge when connected to the PC.
My tablet:
GT-P7310
Android version: 4.0.4
Kernel-version: 2.6.36.4_motley_v3+ [email protected] #81 SMP PREEMPT Thu Apr 5 12:35:41 EDT 2012
Build number: IMM76D
Mod Version: aokp-b32-galaxiansoup-p5wifi
I hope someone can help me solve this problem.
Greetings,
Painore

Does Odin recognize the device? I've been able to flash thru odin even when the computer doesn't recognize the device. If the com port lights up in odin you should be ok.

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately Odin also does not see my tablet.

My tab has been very tricky getting a computer to recognize it. Do you have another computer you can try. It works on my laptop but not my desktop.

Finally had to time to test on a different computer, it connects!
Ok, my fortune didn't last long. Blue screen pops up during Odin process. What to do?

What version of odin are you using? Use 1.85. I tried 3.07, don't remember exactly what the ver number is, it didn't work well for me.

I was using 1.85. I was about to give up on it, tried it one last time and it suddenly worked! Now enjoying stock ICS.

Good! And good luck in the future.

Phone not recognized by ODIN

I am sorry to jump in but I am currently running the latest nightly and Ineed to flash bootloaders and start with Froyo again. But my computer is not detecting my phone. I have installed the Android SDK and installed the drivers for Nexus S but of no avail. i am stuck and would appreciate your help.
The funny thing is that I can use the phone as USB device but freaking ODIN is not detecting it. My windows does not has any unrecognised device. I have installed the Nexus S drivers as well. Is it a problem with ODIN or my phone or windows itself? I am running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 Bit edition.
I have tried;
Uninstalled Samsung Drivers / Restarted / Reinstalled
Swapped 2 different cords
Tried every available port on my PC
Restarted, pulled PC power cable, let it rest for a few seconds and plugged it back in
Uninstalled every USB Root Hub device and restarted so Windows could reinstall all of it
Tried Heimdall as well
I need my ODIN flashing back
Thanks in advance!
Look that Kies isn´t running in the Background.
It is not - I can confirm.

But Kies does not recognize the phone So it does not even try to install the drivers.
I am stuck. Without ODIN recognizing my phone, i can not flash anything on it or revert to stock. Would be great to know if there is anything I can do from Recovery Mode. The phone goes to Download mode as well but what's the use.
well this is a long shot but you could try and manually install it by going into where you installed kies in my case its C:\Program Files\Samsung\USB Drivers\24_flashusbdriver choose the X64 folder seeing as you are on a 64bit system and right click FlashUSB_x64.inf and install

F***! This is frustrating.
well you could always try it on a windows xp machine maybe try another usb cable you never know
i was having this problem too till i sent it back to samsung service centre where they changed the whole board.
my computer totally couldn't recognize my sms on either odin or usb. it won't restart when not connected to charging/power.
i've got a warranty claim and now it back and rooted with gingerbread 2.3.3 jvb install.
samsung service centre is the best. with service like that i'll stay with samsung all the way.
hope my experience help.

an obvious question, but since no one has asked it yet, are you in the download mode ? You have to be in download mode for Odin to detect.

Yeah, I ended up doing the exact same thing. Something must have gone weird, because the phone would still charge, but wouldn't be recognized by anything.
It may well be damage to usb on phone, remove the inner cover check for cracks in soldering, and check pounds aren't out of shape
If they are gently straighten with pin

Just Remove the battery and wait for 10 seconds......
insert battery and start in download mode...
tadaaaa.....it's done....
Did you install the drivers for Hemidall? After I did this my phone was not recognize by Odin... but I'm guessing If I roll back or update the drivers some how in Device Manager then Odin would be happy again.

[Q]Samsung Captivate bricked?

Recently, I was updating my new Captivate using Kies Mini and the update failed, I flashed a couple of ROMs using Odinoneclick and after a couple of tries, I ****ed up my phone, I got it to a point where it would go through a boot loop and eventually get to the GB rom I installed but even that barely worked. Now I finally got my phone into download mode (actually the screeen with the pic of the phone then the triangle then the computer) but my phone wont be detected by my laptop (as in no message pops up as I plug it in) so I can't do an Odin Oneclick to stock 2.1. What can I do to fix this?
Thanks in advance

If you installed Heimdall, Odin won't work on the same USB port. I assume you already tried deleting and reinstalling your drivers?
The only thing that worked for me when that happened before was using a different USB port and finaly flashed KK4 through Odin. If you have access to another pc, that would probably fix your connection problem as well (as long as that pc has the needed drivers).

Well then you don't have that many options left. If I were you, I'd keep trying to delete/reinstall drivers (of course, pc restart), swapping USB port and try both Odin and Heimdall (remember that Odin won't work on the same USB port as Heimwall installed his drivers on). Perhaps, using a different usb cable would work too. After that, the only thing I can think would be to use a different pc.
Sometime it's a mix of those things that will make it work, our cappys are quite capricious lol.

I made a 300k ohm jig and it worked but now when I try it, I think it puts the phone in Firmware error mode or whatever its called, or am I just doing it wrong
U r doing it right. That can be an alternate download mode.
U just got to get Odin or Heimdall to recoqnize it now, so u can flash a Stock firmware.
Have u tried using a different micro usb/usb cable to get Odin to see ur phone ? And usb port in the back of the pc, not a hub ?

Ok...but if u can get ur hands on another cable, it would definately be worth a try, especially if all else is not working. I have personally see it and read it over and over that a different cable does the trick.

Is it most likely the cable?
Idk about most likely...but like i said, if u have exhausted all other means, then it is worth trying.
I personally found several at a Dollar Tree store over a year and a half ago. I use one of them all of the time instead of the one that came with the phone, because that samsung cable just stopped workin for me just outta the blue. It happens. One day a trustworthy cable and then one day not. And of all things, the cable i got for a $1 has worked great.

Problen with Odin. First time root.

I've tried everything, I just can't get odin to recognize my phone. I use a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 and the odin version is Odin3 v3.07, although I have tried using an older version of odin.
My phone gets detected normally (when not in download mode), and even in download mode the computer does make the sound indicating that it is connected.
This time, I opened odin without putting my phone in download mode and it showed a blue box, indicating that it detected my device, however I think being in download mode is a necessity for rooting. Help me out!
Oh and if its important, I use windows 8, I don't have samsung kies installed, I have the stock USB cable and I have tried it out without another cable.
AH! The shame! My first post and there is a typo in the title! T-T
Hey,
Have you tried manually installing the drivers using this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555
The Samsung USB drivers (which lets the computer properly recognise the phone) apparently don't play too nicely with Windows 8.
Try install that and see if Odin recognises your phone

just flash this in stock recovery you only need odin for custom recovery

[Q] USB mode not working

Hey, been using this site for couple weeks now and loving all the roms you guys make but i'm having trouble getting my s5830 to connect through usb mode.
I'm running slimrom V3 and windows xp home edition, i've installed kies and all the drivers but when i open kies it just says connecting then gives an i/o error when i click on the new drive in my computer. Any ideas how i can get it working?
Kies won't detect your phone after root and after installing a custom rom. What happens when you plug you phone into the computer? Does your phone say in the notification bar USB connected

Yea it shows in the notification bar, i can turn usb mode on an off but when i click the new drive in my computer it either crashes or gives an i/o error.
