[Q] Problem with upgrading baseband

Hi All,
I tried to discuss my problem in a different topic, but i think in this topic i'll get solution to my problem.
Here is the case:
"Hi All,
I have some problem with the smartflash thing.
I installed the driver on my win7. I started the smartflash app, picked the battery, power, and volume down at the same time, put the cable on, and the smartflash cannot recognize the COM port...
The thing is, i did this procedure 2 mounth ago, and it worked. Yesterday i want to update my phone, but it didnt worked, except the factory reset
I did the LG PC Sync too, and it says, my phone is up to date... (my baseband is 0405)

Afterwards do the procedure with the phone
Take bat out plug in cable put bat in press the button Don't open smartflash and it should still be closed..
Check if the phone is in se mode and check the device manager again u should have a device named lg usb serial port on a high com port it should be under usb devices. If you get and error on the driver or conflict goto the 1st post on this thered and download smartflash driver and update only the new lg usb device with him while the phone is still connected cz otherwise the device will desapear
That's about it if all is o.k open smartflash select on the right the driver and on the left the com port and you're done.

Hi,
Sry for disturb U again with my problem.
I did all of the things what you wrote, but if i plug the cable to my phone with power and vol-, The LG logo show for a few seconds, the touch leds blink for a half second, and after that the phone is shuting down, and nothing happens.
I have to reinstall my windows 7???

Update failed - black screen!

I tried to update my LG P880 with LGMobile support tool yesterday.
After connecting the phone, I clicked on Start updating. A window popped up, telling me that it was downloading.
When it came to the update part, it lost connection with the phone. I did exactly as it said I should do (unplug, take out battery and put in in again, turn on the phone and connect it to the pc), and it restarted with the updating.
On about the same point as last time, the pc lost the connection with the phone. I did the same as last time, but now, the phone just doesn't boots into the S/W update screen.
The phone is NOT booting, NOT working to flash kdz, and it is NOT detectet as a phone, neither by the pc nor the LGMobile support tool, but my pc detects a device called APX when I connect the phone to the pc.
What can I do? And what is wrong?

LGMobile support tool needs the phone to be in normal mode (generaly...).
No SW or other, just turn ON your phone and connect it to PC.

Take out the battery, wait 30 sec. and put it back, press vol- and connect to PC while pressing.

Nothing is working
I don't get the SW upgrade screen when connecting to PC, the phone is an "Unknown device" og named APX under device manager, and the KDZ program cannot find the device.
Is it any other tings I can try?

so if its apx, you can simple flash it via APX mode with nvflash, right ?
(i remember when i rooting my Optimus 2X via APX , that flashed prerooted system.img... so you can try this method)

Out of ideas... you can try to use the official lgmobile tool and use the emergency mode to recover it...

No. That just leads me to the LG Mobile Support tool, and it can't do anything.

Did you try to get SW upgrade with battery in? (I had the same problem)

So what happened with your phone- do u get lg icon and charging indicator when u connect phone?
did u try lg flash tool - i know it needs usb serial port but just try and after all ports ready disconnect phone for 3-5 sec and reconnect -maybe the tool will feel it this way - i'm trying to get manual copy of of that lge usb serial port driver but its not working well on win7 64 i think it'll be easier on xp- if so try to update this APX driver to lge cdma usb serial manually and tryflash tool on it
also the flash tool has board dl option u might try
when connecting phone turned off here i can get some adbs drivers one of them is adb anroidnet usb serial port - the problem is when charging note dissapear(display turned off) its gone and i've to repress power button normal press to get it again

I got nothing when I plugged it in.
Anyway, I have sent it in to the place I bought it from, to get a new one.

S/W mode cant open when I push volume + - .......and I made factory reset with power and volume -+...I have same error screen....
My pc doesnt communicate with phone properly.. Lg Pc Suite and Lg Mobile Support Tool can t connect to phone..
I tried emergeny firmware but it doesn t work because of phone-pc connection problem...
I checked many posts in forum and I tried some of them..Unfortunately doesntttt workkk....
I dont have so experience about android phones but I think this is brick haaa...
Plssssss helppppp meee.....
By the way it happened when I try to rollback from v20 to v10 .......

To get in S/W Mode you should press "Vol-" and connect to PC...

First, take out the battery, press "Vol-" and connect to PC. Probably won't work... after that, disconnect from PC, put
back the battery, press "Vol-" and connect to PC.

first of all you have to initialise the phone in S/W Upgrade mode.
without that is nothing more to do to revive the device...
you have to <stress> the phone very much... something similar happened to me and the procedure works after 20+ trys...
so:
- pull battery out and press <Vol Down> + <insert usb cable connected to PC> (10-20 times)
- with battery in switch off the phone (i presume switches work - power off, vol down, vol up), press <Vol Down>+ <insert usb cable connected to PC> (10-20 times) - that works for me and bring the phone in S/W Upgrade mode and from there i manage to flash the phone.
repet many times that procedures with usb cable connected to AC adapter.
maybe the USB cable not working anymore... make procedures with another USB cable...
i hope you persevered and bring the phone to life again.

Like said you should try many times...even mine did not go in sw mod at first tries

When I put the usb cable in phone and tap on turn on usb storage it just cicles to ifinity. The pc detects it "Removable Disk" but when i click it says to insert a disk . Any help please? I'm on GamerzRom Legend Edition v3.0 (4.2.2) . I tried with usb storage from store and still nothing..

I kind of solved it but not good, If I reboot the phone it will work only first time after reboot , then the second , third and so on will do the same ... heh it's good it works but ti's boring to reboot everytime i get a new game or something ..

fix it yet even when i when port it
to a pro
ok this is it
i have 3 SGAce hhhh
one of them work normaly
the 2nd not detected by pc/odin in
nrml mod XD , recovery and
downloade mode but it works fine
but when i tray to change usb
mode by pressing *#7284# i got a
popup with black BG see ss on
attachment
finaly the third that when i tern it
on nothing hapen it stuck at pre-
bootanimations screen also i cant
enter the recovery only download
mode but it cant be detected
by Pc or odin
so please give me a solution for
the 2nd 3rd
not like
chek usb cable port or usb driver
try to unplug the battrey reinstall
driver use other odin version
becouse i try it

Mate, you need to simplify your problems. (And please don't quadrapost in other forums.)
From what I can make out of it:
1. Your 1st device is working properly. Great!
2. Your 2nd and 3rd isn't working properly.
3. You can't enter recovery and ODIN isn't working properly.
By normal mode, I'm assuming you mean while Android is running. ODIN cannot detect the device when it's in Android. Reboot into download mode first, then ODIN the device.
Now, ODIN isn't working either? I'm afraid you'll dislike this answer, but check the USB wire, again and again. I've had some weird ODIN problems previously and it's caused by a bad connection.
Your 3rd device is soft-bricked (Cannot boot into Android nor Recovery, only Download.) Therefore, the problem lies within either
- the USB wire
Or
- Driver
Or
- Unsupported ODIN.
Good luck, hope you'll figure it out soon. That's all I can help you with unless you provide more clarified information/symptoms.

Try changing the USB port or using another PC... if you are running Windows 7 you won't face any problem

Hi There
The solution for the 3rd phone is to take it to recovery and factory rest it.
