Hey guys.. it's me again..
With a little question..
i've searched for a solution and i found nothin unfortunately ..
Maybe it's me .. i don't know ..
Anywhore..
couple of months ago i unlocked the bootloader.. and i flashed A kernel ..
and did that over and over again.. last week .. i flashed Alfs.. i had some problems and bricks but i went through em easily thanks for Paul1989
But now.. i'm trying to flash nAa 08b ..
and unfortunately the flasher won't detect the phone ..
i know how to flash as i said before ..
i tried to do it on another laptop ... but nah ..
same problem ..
won't detect the phone ..
so i'm stuck at: connect the usb while holding the back button..
That's it ..
Hope u guys have some ideas ..
Thanks..
Cheers :
EDIT: i had a Problem with mounting the Phone to the pc.. but i solved it by installing the "Void" fix .. cause i have *alfs*
after that .. i could mount the phone..
so i thought now i can flash it ..
but .. NAH .. again .. it did NOT detect the phone :/
Plug your phone onto pc with battery out, hold the back button, then when youre holding it put the battery back in. Hope i helped

nAa Kernel?
Well... let us try to diagnose the horse the other way around ...
When you connect the X8 in Flash Mode does Windows show the device as "SEMC Flash Device" in the Device Manager OR is it some "SEMC HSUSB Device" without a driver (yellow exclamation mark) OR isn't it recognized at all?
- If it's correctly recognized as SEMC Flash Device then Flashtool should be able to recognize the phone (assuming you're doing everything right).
- If it's mis-identified as "SEMC HSUSB Device" look around in the Forums - there's a modded Android driver that resolves this problem (this happens with one of the custom kernels ... I fail to remember if it happens with nAa or Alfs).
EDIT: Seems the misdetection only happens by chance with Alfs, but in case you experience that problem see this post.
- If it's not recognized at all ... check you're keeping the back button pressed while connecting the X8 to the PC until it's being recognized - check your USB cable - try another USB port - check your System for possible virii infections.

Wait.. What?
what do u see in the device manger ?
keep the device manager open when connecting the phone
and see if there is a blink (refreshing) in there - for detecting a new device
what do u see on the phone .. does it enter boot mode
if all is right on the phone side .. but still no response on the pc side (no new device yellow mark or blink) check your usb cable

yes the exclamation mark says that you donot have proper drivers
search and install the latest drivers for your phone .. shouldnt have taht exclamation mark
the drivers should also come with your flash tool .. in the drivers folder ..
you can right click in device manager select update driver .. and point to teh drivers in your flashtool ..
if you dont have a copy .. search for new drivers elsewhere and install
Dude, how did you flashed the alfs kernel?

I'm on zeus v3 I installed the latest lag mobile driver but still can't used my phone as mass storage or to transfer files from computer to my OB and vis a vis.
In order for it to work; USB debugging should be unchecked. first go to settings and uncheck it and try again.
If that doesn't work either go to settings and there is menu lik "SD card and..." under it check USB storage then try again.
When I insert it in the usb port it said's that the usb is not recognized even though I installed the lastes lg mobile.

Sometimes I got that message to, but it fixed when I replugged the usb, or change the usb port.
Try plug it on other usb port. If it still failed, try with other PC (install driver first of course).
If it also failed, try using other cable.

Yes I already have the latest drivers but still...
Do you think its related to the cable ?
Try RomManager. Download it, install, open, find fix permissions, run it, reboot and everything should be fine again ;-) dont just run fix permissions from cwm, since it doesnt work. Use RomManager.

Hello I have galaxy s1 i9000 and a few months back I rooted it and installed CM10, everything is working fine but just recently I found out that the USB cable is no longer working for data transfer.
Whenever I plug the phone with a computer it just charge (I use the original data cable I got with the device).
On win7 it tells me there is a usb device connected but it fails to install a driver for it, note here that I have used the phone in the same computer before rooting to CM10. I downloaded and reinstaled the samsung driver but nothing changed.
I tried it in my macook as well, OSX 10.9 no love there either, while it worked before the rooting too.
I tried other cables that I confirmed they work with other phones but still no luck.
Any idea on what to do? It is really a pain to move photos from the phone to my pc by sending them with email...
Thanks

I;m not sure about where you tell me to go, but I think this is about the USB debugging option?
I have USB debugging enabled in developers options but nothing happens, as a side note if I check in networking options for USB tethering it says USB is not connected.
Also I have changed in storage->USB computer connection to mass storage, MTP and PTP but nothing make any of my computers to see the device.

Look the attachments.
Can't you enable it so? Scroll down upper left corner of the home screen and it should appear: "Touch to copy files from/to...."
If you click that, second menu appears and you turn it on by clicking on the bottom filed.

Yes this is the original and I tried 2 other USB cables, all confirmed to be working with other android phones, as I said this started after the root and the CM 10 installation maybe something is broken deeper than I can go.
Anyway thanks for your time, for the time being the only way I have found to backup my pictures is from kies air, I guess the only option is to try some factory reset sometime.

Try to connect to another USB port, sometimes it helps.
Do you use pawitp's CyanogenMod build or is it modified?
Otherwise, as you have root you can also use app "Samba filesharing" and transfer your files from the phone to the PC via Wi-Fi

Thanks mate, for you too (oh, I see it's your very first "thanks" credit from me )
BTW, yes- it is pawitp's build then, it is the great developer for the i9000
As soon as you use Kies, you have ceirtanly installed USB driver already. Try to kill Kies process in task manager next time. It must work!
Just want to add a close to this thread.
After all this time I got myself a newer LG L90 405n, so I decided to wipe clean the galaxy s1 and use it as a media player.
To my surprise now the data cable works like no problem.
I guess it was just some corrupted file after all

Hm, I forgot one thing. Did you try to reboot and retry? I always get like that when I charge my phone on wall charger, and then connect it to USB. I must reboot before I get connection, and it is charging just like in your case.
@darkclub
Have you ever tried to uninstall the usb drivers on your PC before?
If not, maybe you should try the following two ways :
Method 1 :
1 . Try uninstall your usb drivers , and then restart your PC . Then try to reinstall your usb drivers again . then ;
2 . Try reconnect the USB cable u'r janice device to your PC again. and see if it still happens as before ? If not , then try :
3. Samsung USB Driver Full Package ((http: //goo.gl/MWyaf7))
Method 2 :
1 . Please install "ADB Driver Installer" ((http: //goo.gl/5qTm2B))
2 . Connect Janice device to your PC/Laptop
3 . Having janice device is connected , it will display a dialog box or Alert Warning " DRIVER incorrectly "
4 . Click " Driver incorrectly " and then click " INSTALL "
5 . "ADB Driver Installer" will fix that does not match the driver .
6 . Upon Process Completed , it will display a dialog message "DRIVER STATUS OK"
7 . Done. And see if it still remains the same .

1 . Way it is used if the solution has been given by two senior people at the top have done .
2 . And, your data cable condition, certainly not having problems .
3 . I 'm just trying to help . Do it carefully and your own risk!!
