[Q] Status Bar styles for PANDORIAM v5.7 - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Hy is it possible to have the Status Bar styles in separate CWM flashable zip ?
I like to try them all but it a pain in the @#$ to instal the rom every time :crying:
Please can some one extract them from the rom and make them available in separate CWM flashable zips ( at least the carbon one ) or make only one of them as a Zip and we change the "texture" part in the zip with the one we will like to try .. like in the PULL DOWN TUTORIAL
UPDATE: Tnx to anybuddy for all the help and info ,now we have :
1) statusbar changer from a non transparent texture to another texture HERE
2) statusbar changer from transparent one to a textured one HERE
3) the pull down changer HERE

Why you don't do it by yourself? Download the notification pulldown Background zip from Pandoriam.com, open it with winrar (or something like that) and open every folder that comes after vrtheme, delete the "back.png" and put one of "btemtd_statusbar.png" in there (which you will found in the Pandoriam zip under Pandoriam/statusbar/"yourchoice" and also ever folder after vrtheme.
But the transparent ones will not go (i think) because they are no pics. Make a nandroid Backup before flashing.

I have tried but is not working .the pull down mods are working I have switched allot of textures very nice but the status bar is not updateing with the files in the pull down zip. I think we need other files in the META INF folder

Maybe is because I have installed the transparent one in the aroma installer

Dont know what you have done wrong, but it works fine for me. Both, transparent and non-transparent. Maybe you have more success with my zip
But dont forget, if you choose one of these transparent ones, the non-transparents wont work anymore, because the transparent ones are script based, so you have to restore your nandroid backup first. If you have a better way, just tell me.
And if you have still problems to change the png's, try WinRar

Yes in the initial setup i have chosen the 100% transparent one , maybe this is why i cant make it work now .. i will try your zip and tell the results
I always use WinRar
LE: i have tried your zip with no luck , i think is because ai have the transparent one now .. i will re flash the rom with normal texture ans see if it will work to change aftar that
PS: your zip have a diferent updater-script than the zip from the Pandoriam site

Thats the reason. If you choose the transparent Statusbars, you cant flash the Pic based bars (you can, but this makes no difference)
And at the moment I don't know a remedy for it.

Jap, I have changed the Print text
Edit:
It is certainly too late for you, but I made a flashzip so you can flash a non-transparent Statusbar although you have flashed a transparent one before

Thank you now i/we have all we need to customize the statusbar and the pulldown notification :good:
Maybe u can ask btemtd to put this info in the Pandoriam OP :victory:

I don't need to ask because it is planned to have flash zips for all statusbars and batterymods for download

I think that I'm getting something wrong. I wanted to change from one untransparent to another one. I've unpacked package you got, changed files and packed it again in .zip file. However when I try to flash this via CWM I get "Instalation Aborted" message. Any suggestions?

Hy , i don`t think we can switch from a transparent one to another because they are script based
and only work with the aroma installer.
We can switch from a transparent one to a texture one with this zip.
I just open the zip with winrar and drag and replace the texture with the one i want and
then just save & close winrar .. i think that if u unzip-it and then re compress you will
end up with different archive characteristics .. just leave the archive the way the dev did it

No, no. I'm using non transparent and trying to change texture to another non transparent. I used zip in your first post, switches textures to the one I want (extracted from Pandoriam folder of course), zipped it again and boom. Instalation Aborted in CWM.

to what texture you want to swith ? how is it named in the folder i will try to do one for you if u can tell me tha name
ex: glossdarkbrown

Hey, tried your method without unziping and adding file within winrar itself. And it worked! So, thanks for help!

Since both of you have no patience, I'll give you This

P.P.S.: Like I said before, it will come more flash zips soon, but I will test it with Pandoriam v6 first

P.S
When you get a minute can you check something in clockwork on your IS.
I think it may be a bug in the DS but whenever i use the format cache command in edify (yes it is typed correctly lol) the recovery doesnt flash the zip but instead aborts installation with a status 1 error code.
Just curious...

[GUIDE] Status bar customization using UOT Kitchen

Since everyone has a different taste of how the status bar should look like here is simple guide how to do it.
What you need:
1) rooted device with CWM installed (for example per Chainfire´s guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784)
2) extracted apk files "framework-res.apk", "SystemUI.apk" and twframework-res.apk (use any root explorer) located here:
framework-res.apk: system/framework
SystemUI.apk: system/app
twframework.apk: system/framework
Caution: to use it with particular ROM you need to extract these file from that particular ROM - does not (for me) work just to use core files (like for custom KKA ROM use original KKA stock ROM files)
3) go to UOT Kitchen http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/ and choose the features your status bar should include. Once your selection is done go to tab "file upload", choose on right side option "upload system files" and upload extracted file from step 2. Once they are fully uploaded, go to summary where you can check what is going to be cooked. Then just simply click"submit work to kitchen" and wait for compilation completion. Pick up your file, save it somewhere to your computer or phone. Then just use CWM to install it.
Note: I have not tried this for originally themed ROMs like ROWMO or Sheep ROM so I do not know whether it works.
Confirmed to work for Cassies ROM, MySam and stock ROMs so I guess the status bar customization should work for other (not AOSP) ROMs as well.
Good luck, Haddar

Thanks for the great guide. Can anyone tell me where to find the default MIUI statusbar icons? I haven't seen this in UOT Kitchen.
Thanks.
Unfortunately many of nice status bar icons are not "pickable" at UOT Kitchen. If there was an option to upload our own icon set it would be a good time to ask theme dev´s to post them somewhere here. But it is actually not ..... we probably need to use what is already there.
I've used this before but now I can't get it to work. I'm trying to use a boot animation and I'm setting the boot animation to Galaxy type, and the binary scripting to Galaxy. I did manage to change my status bar icons but a few of them didn't change.
I'm galaxy noteOK
In the status bar size option... What kind of size is to be selected? Because there is no option for 1200x800 pixels in the status bar size option... :O
And can you do a small tutorial on the 10 or 14 status bar toggles as there are on the samsung galaxy s2... Please if you can do this it shall be a great help!!! Thanks a lot!

That's how you cure bootloop. Then you just use 3-button combo to get into recovery mode and restore your backup.
This works! Finally found a way to get rid of that awful battery % mod on custom roms.

Can anyone confirm that it is impossible to make transparent the status bar on a Samsung device? I tried to cook a theme on the kitchen, but it did not work, only the entire status bar desapeared.
Any other options that you know?

[THEME] Stock LG UI Theme for Marvel ROM (+some apps)

Hello everyone,
After a few days working with gabwerkz and N00BY0815 in this thread we have managed to create a theme for the Marvel (v4) ROM. It's the stock LG theme. Some icons can't be replaced but well, most of the appearence is stock.
Downloads:
This is supposed to have 2 versions. Choose just one of them.
Version 1 (Theme) - gabwerkz:
http://www.mediafire.com/?mejgaze39nar65f
Version 2 (Theme + Launcher + Some Stock Widgets) - VictorMun:
http://www.mediafire.com/?1zjfpn323l85z7kMirror: http://min.us/mvv3NQ1gG#1o
Add-On - DroidSansFont (Stock font):
http://www.mediafire.com/?09l3ddx9h55dfpoMirror: http://min.us/mvv3NQ1gG#2o
Add-On -Stock Music App:
http://www.mediafire.com/?0jk2wlsw43a52ddMirror: http://min.us/mAYHjXfl4
Installation:
Boot into recovery
Go to Advanced
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Go back to the main menu
Choose Install Zip from SDCard
Reboot
Issues:
Not every widget could be restored because some of them won't work
If you want to install the Add-Ons, it's better if you install them after flashing the theme.
Installing the Stock Music App won't remove the Google Music App included in the ROM.

No modification for the theme. Just flash the stock apps for that ROM. ask for a flashable stock deodexed apps from the cooker. I believe it's V20N. Also, if you have xanadus repacked V20N, just replace the apk's inside the zip before flashing. That way, you have LG's default/unthemed apk's/UI.
HE also will need framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk from a stock ROM, right?

Download RomManager, do a fix permission, from within (or from terminal in zeus), reboot and it should work, if it still doesnt, reboot to recovery, wipe dalvik, let it reboot and then it should work I think

I'll try, thanks
EDIT: Nope, didn't work :S
However, it is weird because I've the buttons and all from the stock ROM... so I don't really know where the problem may be. I even used the UOT kitchen (to try a random setup) with Marvel's framework-res.apk and the 20n system-ui.apk but it still fails at showing the status bar. Therefore I believe it's related to the system-ui.apk.
From which ROM did you take the System and framework files? B or N? Cause this might also be the cause... Zeus is a v20B ROM, at least the higher versions, which I guess you are using. And if you take the files from a V20N ROM, there might come up a bug, like not showing statusbar... You also might DieDerik, how he solved it, cause he also had the same problem, or gabwerkz might be the PRO on this
Edit, just read the first post again and you use Marvel... This is based on V20N AFAIK, did you use V20B files then maybe? You might also request Marvel, to give you his original files, I guess he will help you out, when he has got some free time
Edit 2: Did you use deodexed files? This might also be the cause...
NOOBY hit the bullseye on that.
but hmmm, he said he used SystemUI of V20N. Now be sure it's deodexed and permissions are correct.
Oh and UOT somehow already left a lot of guys here with a missing status bar. So first try to get the stock statusbar and after you try to mod it again, then you ll at least know, where you can find the bug. Because different files + mods are two possible sources of bugs...
And if you want gabwerkz, you can provide him with a zip, to flash the files + permissions, so he shouldnt have problems with it
Oh I remeber now G*damnit. NOOBY is right, UOT sometimes won't show your statusbar. I've experienced it. If it was from a different Version (V20b) chances are it won't boot for some apk's.
Tell me what apk's you need or themed apk's that you don't want...?/

Thank you guys for your help. I've been using the 20n version that is included in the 20n repackaged. Permissions are correct (as the other system apps). I really wonder where the mistake may be... I'll ask the developer, in case he is able/willing to help.

Size of the ROM is incredibly reduced, I have added Beats Audio Mod. but i dont have that Icon to be placed. SO help me guys
please check the attachment !
A way you could do it is by replacing the headphones icon in the status bar.
To do this decompile framework-res.apk (it might have been systemui.apk, I can't remember) and navigate to the drawable-hdpi folder, and then swap the headphones connected image with the image of the beats icon. I can't remember exact details but its pretty straight forward to find the icon you want. Hard part is opening up the apk

A quick update:
Found the Notification Toggle app from the Play Store which does a very good job. Along with a large selection of some easy to use pull-down switches in the Notification Bar is a battery icon showing %. Actually very nice.
However, not being exactly what I was looking for I tried to use the OG Battery Icon Mod from XDA with my (mostly) stock (Odexed) ROM. It was unsuccessful.
Thinking it might be a problem with the Odexed ROM, I flashed CWM Recovery to replace my previous TWRP Recovery (for some reason the DeOdexed ROM des not flash with TWRP) and then flashed JMZ's DeOdexed v1.08 ROM. Unfortunately, I ended up the same failure when running the OGBattery Mod Tool (the tool was unable to download the systemui.apk).
Therefore, so far I am unable to make the UI modification, but am pleased to find the Notification Toggle App -- and with some help from Titanium Backup my phone is back where I wanted it, now running a DeOdexed ROM. I went back to TWRP Recovery. I have CWM on my A500 tablet, but TWRP just seems easier on the First.

Feeling adventurous, I downloaded your sense ROM & extracted it. In systemui.apk I see there are two (apparently duplicated) res folders and the sub-folders/files in res are also duplicated. Is this an error in the build or necessary as place-holders of sone kind. I thought I might try to replace the res folder in the deodexed ROM with this one, but it concerned me.

Is this an error in the build or necessary as place-holders of sone kind. I thought I might try to replace the res folder in the deodexed ROM with this one, but it concerned me.

I don't know what you mean. Can you screenshot it?

Thank you for the response. I couldn't figure out how to attach here, so I posted a screenshot of the extracted systemui.apk from your Sense ROM at dev-host: http://d-h.st/VOr
Note that there are duplicate res folders. Also, in the res folders many of the sub-folders and: files also have duplicates, prompting my question. --Larry

@jmk : After the confusion (to me) I tried a couple of more things:
1. Replaced systemui.apk in stock ROM with the systemui.apk from your Sense ROM. That did give me a Sense horizontal battery with %, but was too small to see. I was hoping for the percent circle.
2. I used UOT Kitchen to attempt to make the modifcation, but Kitchen returned a SHTF error, so no results yet.
Success!
I loaded & set up JMZ's Sense ROM with the icons I wanted, then copied systemUI.apk to the sdcard. After restoring my "stock" ROM I renamed the systemUI.apk in /system, then copied the one from the sdcard to /system & reset the permissions. I now have my desired battery icons!
@ jMZ: Thank you for the guidance. --Larry
